Since PTG failed, I mean gave up, I mean quit, I mean stopped a third of the way thru his mock... I figured it was time for me to save the GML pre-draft party that never got started. Our draft is less than 48 hours away ladies!!

Warning, if you didn't update your team page, then suffer the consequences...

1 Cincinnati - the Bungles have traded up into the number one spot... rumors persist that they are looking to deal down though as they have no clue on who to take. Alex44 hasn't been heard from in weeks. I believe they have a co gm who goes by the name of Ashraf?? I only know this because he tried to trade a pick he didn't have to me in exchange for a player who will go unmentioned for the time being... :shifty: I digress, and if I keep yapping like this, it will take me 16 hours to get thru this first round mock. Where do the Bengals need help? RB, OL, DL and S most noticeably. Skill players tend to be overdrafted here in the GML... a player like CJ Spiller would certainly be on their radar if they were to somehow trade down and stay in the top 10, but #1 overall is just too high to take him. The consensus best player in the draft is Suh. If the Bengals are running a 43, they currently have just two DT's on their roster. According to their home page. Pick: DT Suh

2 Detroit - ah yes, Duss and the Lions are now on the clock. We gave Duss a lot of flack last year when he traded up to the #1 overall and then selected WR Michael Crabtree. Now that he's with the Lions, the general thought is that a WR must be on the horizon yet again... Looking at the roster, I see four WR's and none of them are named Calvin Johnson. Duss has spent a lot of time this offseason building up the defense. So the likelihood of him selecting from that side of the ball seems slim. Pick: WR Dez Bryant

3 Tampa Bay - another team that could be moving down if the guy that they want isn't here. Something tells me they were looking at Dez Bryant... :shifty: VO is going to be one angry viking when Detroit takes the guy they want. The best player on the board is Gerald McCoy, but the Bucs don't need a DT after upgrading the position already. This could be a flurry of activity in a trade down scenario for a team looking at a Bradford or McCoy. The Bucs don't need either player. Since I'm not projecting trades as that would cause me to finish this mock some time next month, I go with someone I think they'd consider if they were able to trade down, Pick: DE Derrick Morgan

4 Washington - The Redskins have to be tickled silly that the top quarterback is still on the board. They have Kerry Collins and Colt Brennan. Easy decision..> I'm not even going to look at the rest of their roster, although they could use a T.... Pick: QB Sam Bradford

5 Tennessee - The Titans are in need of a LT after trading Roos. They can't possibly think Jammal Brown is the answer. Best LT on the board, and an easy decision at 5 would be Okung. However, look at the BPA available and the choice has to be McCoy. Yet, the Titans are supposedly running a 34, right? McCoy not necessarily a NT. They have Ferguson, Chris Baker, Remi Ayodele (more of an under DT though), so they go with another need, Pick: FS Eric Berry

6 Seattle - ah the team with many holes and the GM to fill them... :shifty: Did anyone even notice that he signed Whitehurst for the $300k minimum? When the real 'Hawks traded the equivalent of a 2nd round pick and paid him more than $5m per season... This isn't about need for Alen at this pick... although I see they have only 3 linebackers on the roster. The good news is that they are all starter quality. Alen ends up doing naked cartwheels to the podium with the draft card in hand... and it says Pick: DT Gerald McCoy

7 Detroit - The Lions are back on the clock. After taking Dez Bryant at #2, they have to take a long time to line out his name again as they can't draft the same guy twice... although they'd like to... :shifty: He loves his skill position players... and even though they appear loaded at running back... the Pick: RB CJ Spiller

8 Green Bay - That rumbling you just heard was the GM of the Packers having a fit over not getting his guy at #8. So I think the Packers look to finish rounding out their LB corps... although they could take the best OT in the draft who is STILL on the board... rather Pick: LB Jason Pierre-Paul

9 Buffalo - If Seattle's pick was the no brainer thus far, this one has to be the next in line. Funny how I have OL and DL sliding... Bills can always use OL help. Pick: OT Russell Okung

10 Jacksonville - Looking at the Jags roster... I don't see a team with a lot of glaring holes. Both lines are pretty well filled out. Are they happy with the qb's they have? Well I think they are for now. I don't see them taking Clausen although that could be a possibility. They brought Bartell in, Hobbs who I think is best suited for nickel, so CB is a possibility. FS is a possibility. However, I think they pull a rabbit out of the hat here and take a guy whom the real Jags are interested in (according to my sources)... Pick: LB Rolando McClain

11 Tennessee - Will I ever finish? need to pick up the tempo and stop yapping so much. My team is one pick away... what do I do.. smokescreen? tell the truth?? A reverse-double agent backhanded wraparound??? :shifty: Holy ****, the Titties are back on the clock, that's Titans! After taking Berry at #5. They go back on the other side of the ball and address their OL need, Pick: T Trent Williams

12 Miami - Now's my opportunity to come clean. Since nobody will believe me, I'm going to actually say the name of the guy whom I would take if the board falls this way... nobody will see it coming... freight train... and the Dolphins need one to fill the box alongside Eric Weddle.. Pick: S Taylor Mays

13 San Fran - so when you're going to san franciscoooo, you're sure to see other people there... or however that song goes... niners could go a few different ways with this pick, yet I think they fill a need and get BPA which is always nice... Pick: T Brian Bulaga

14 Seattle - holy mackerel... the Seahawks are back on the clock. After stealing McCoy at #6, the salty birds look for another theft at this spot. The value isn't there for a running back or a wide receiver. They could certainly deal down at this pick though. A corner could be had here, some great value with Haden on the board, however something tells me Alen likes his corners.... you can never have enough good pass rushers though and there are a few guys available that fit the bill. Talk about upgrading the DL in a hurry... Pick: DE Brandon Graham

15 NY Giants - The G Men are up and so is adamprez. A man that sticks to his beliefs in the face of failure. A man that was pro Matt Ryan to the Dolphins two years ago... pro Vontae Davis to the Dolphins last year (one of a few)... and anti Dez Bryant this year (who do you like for the Phins this year Adam?) Anyway, have to think the Giants go secondary here... Pick: S Earl Thomas

16 Arizona - pick 16 and I'm almost halfway done... :pity: I'd better get a "thanks" from each and everyone of you!!! The Cards are up, think this would be an easy decision... Pick: CB Joe Haden

17 Indianapolis - this is another relatively easy decision. Peyton must not be happy about losing all his weapons. I reckon it's time to appease him... Pick: WR Golden Tate

18 Pittsburgh - Steelers have gone thru a major transformation. Only four DL on the roster. Even though they run a 34, they need some more help at that position. This is a guy that has Steelers written all over him... hailing from Penn State... Pick: DL Jared Odrick

19 Atlanta - I could certainly see the Falcons trading down from this pick. As Stitches loves having more and more picks. I culd see them going CB or LB here quite easily. I think this guy is a perfect fit for Mike Smith's defense (he is still the coach for Stitches right?) Pick: LB Sean Weatherspoon

20 Jacksonville - The Jags are up again. What's with all these teams and multiple first round picks... they all want to be me!!??! I had three last year.... They drafted McClain at 10. Could go corner... however, I think they have to take the value at this spot. Similar to when Aaron Rodgers slipped... sure they have Anderson and Delhomme, but those guys are just stop gaps... Pick: QB Jimmy Clausen

21 San Fran - I reckon Sebo would have taken Clausen here if he fell this far. Alas it was not to be. After addressing their OL with Bulaga, the niners head to the other side of the ball and select Pick: OLB Sergio Kindle

22 New England - have to think that Schisno and GIK were somehow eyeing Kindle at this pick had he lasted. What are the Pats needs here? Well I think they'd consider Gresham at this pick but the need on the defensive side of the ball is still there... particularly at corner. Pick: CB Kyle Wilson

23 Denver - I'm almost done!! I hope I haven't duplicated any picks...:shifty: The bucking Broncos are on the clock. I think they'd consider a WR if Tate were on the board. They may consider Demaryius Thomas here. Although I'm thinking they go with BPA and filling a need as well Pick: TE Jermaine Gresham

24 Green Bay - After taking JPP earlier, I think the Packers have to take a running back here and there are plenty to choose from. Pick: RB Ryan Matthews

25 NY Giants - Giants took Earl Thomas earlier. Could they go corner here? who knows... fairly certain though that the team page is not up to date.... :pity: A stab in the dark? Pick: WR Arrelious Benn

26 Tennessee - Eric Berry, Trent Williams.... and now for the NT of the future and a local guy, Pick: NT Dan Williams

27 Dallas - Cowboys are up... what's Jerrah going to do... what would you do? That's what she said... :shifty: I think the 'Boys could go OL here perhaps CB, as the dirty sanchez does like his corners... think the value here is more alont the o line... Pick: T Bruce Campbell

28 San Diego - ah yes, the team that I had so much fun with last year... San Diego... Superchargers... San Diego... CHARGERS! Well, if their team page is accurate, they only have four OL.... or they could go running back... think they'll go back later... for now they have to do something with their OL... Pick: T Charles Brown

29 Denver - Denver back on the clock. After getting Gresham earlier, and considering WR... now they get their WR Pick: WR Demaryius Thomas
30 Minnesota - Have to think the Vikings would be happy with this pick. After trading away one of the toughest CB's in the league... Pick: CB Devin McCourty

31 Indianapolis - Colts back on the clock. After drafting Golden Tate with their first first rounder, Colts look at the defensive side of the ball. They have Derrick Burgess as their LOLB in the 34 front. To compete with him, Pick: DE/OLB Everson Griffen

32 New Orleans - And last but certainly not least, wait I'm almost done... jesus ****ing christ... oh yeah, how bout them Saints?! Who Dat nation is still hungover from SuperBowl XVCMII.... But the Saints are in the position of being able to draft best available. They do have a slight need in the secondary. Sharper isn't getting any younger and I'm not sure they have a guy they like who can line up next to him, now that Roman Harper is gone. I think they go for a guy who can play in the box or replace Sharper in time, Pick: S Nate Allen

Well there you have it... if you read this far, what the hell is wrong with you... you should thank me twice!

There were a couple of guys who some of you may be wondering why they weren't taken in my mock... yeah I know who you're thinking:

    G Mike Iupati
    T Anthony Davis
    DE Jerry Hughes
    DT Brian Price
    OLB Daryl Washington
    ILB Sean Lee
    CB Patrick Robinson

You can only have 32... but the Eagles and Bears must be licking their chops at the top of round 2...

i'll guarantee you this, i will not be selecting any of the offensive tackles in the first round. im happy with flozell and free as my ot's, with free taking over for flozell at lt as the future.

unless okung falls to me, i wont pick an ot. guaranteed. if i do, i promise i wont participate in next years gm league. i say this drunk with the prospects of possibly getting tasered over the weekend for an offer i cant refuse, but whatever. it stands. so be it.

    now playing: megadeth.

good gml mock though, paul. now change my pick.

    robert brewster has potential.

free has something brewster doesnt, starting experience. he replaced marc columbo and did a fantastic job.

before he came into the lineup, id agree theyd need a ot with me trading columbo to the bears. but with the emergence of free, theres no doubt in my mind that he'll be the anchor at lt after flozell moves on.

with that, still no ot for me in the first round :D

They have the Phins taking Kindle. And Dall taking Dez Bryant. NE taking thaddeus gibson. Saints taking Everson Griffen. Vikes taking my pick Mccourty. Brian Price to Indy. Taylor Mays to Philly.

I don't see what's wrong with that. It's not like you just drafted him, never seen him step foot in NFL game situation and said he has potential. Free has played, Garner has played, they both played well. Free's played well on both sides of the line and Garner's played well at G. I'm not going to argue with you that they need another Tackle because I feel the same way but I'm not going to downgrade Free when he has talent.

Brewster was not pretty to watch in college IMO. We'll see how he develops in Dallas.

Interesting. I hadn't thought about Morgan at #3 overall ... but that's certainly something to consider.

And I don't buy for a second Mays at 12 for you Paul. Especially since you live in Cali and you've probably seen him play more (poorly) than anyone else on the board.
