ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the New York Jets have reached an agreement on a two-year contract with free-agent RB LaDainian Tomlinson (Chargers). Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Read more: http://www.kffl.com/hotw/nfl#ixzz0iBxGOrT8
ya I was just wondering because I remember hearing people talk about how he wasn't sure if he wanted to be a limited back or not...but overall it doesnt scare me mainly because his best years are behind him.
LT is a step down from Thomas Jones. To think he's going to come in and make a huge impact is ridiculous.
What are you guys talkin about? Tomlinson is a downgrade from Thomas Jones? Now that LT will be running behind the best O-line in the game, I expect him to make some noise. Typical Dolfans man, whatever we do is correct and whatever our opponents do is incorrect. Please stop with the whole notion that they are getting a "Ted Ginn" and are downgrading.
considering thomas jones doubled LTs yards last year........yes id say at this point in time. TJ is better than LT. get off the jets nuts
They had the top running game last year, and they get rid of Jones (and possibly Washington) and bring in a guy with no foot. One can only hope they decide to do away with Pace, Scott, Harris and the other linebackers.
The Miami defense might have been Tomlinson's greatest nemesis. His best performance against us was in 2003 when he ran 24 times for 62 yards and had 11 receptions for 80 yards. One of the greatest RBs in history has never run for more than 3.6 ypc against a Dolphin defense.
LT chokes and wusses out of big games. This is a great fit! Maybe him and Rex will cry together next season to pump up the team.
It may work out great for them. But Thomas Jones was clearly the better player the last two years. LT is in decline, no question about it. Again, it may work out great, but it is a downgrade. Sent from my HERO200 using Tapatalk
Hopefully Darelle Revis is do an $8 million signing bonus next year. Maybe they'll sign Patrick Surtain to replace him.
I hope he plays for the Jets like he has played for the Chargers the last couple of years... not very well.
The last few times we've faced LT we've seemed to be able to shut him down for the most part. Im not too concerned.
Bet you anything he runs for over 1,000 yards ,the guy is pissed off and wants to prove he is not done.
Again, typical Jets. Release a player who rushed for 1,400 yards because they don't want to pay him $5 mil. Sign a player on the downside of his career who got HALF those yards last year, make him a backup, and pay him $5 mil.
I don't quite follow the rationale that since the dolphins have had success with Tomlinson before, they will continue to do so. Next year will be a different O Line for him, different defense for the fins, different coaches, different a lot of stuff. It is like having a winning streak over a team that goes back decades. Those wins mean nothing this year. New and different variables every meeting.
Really? Typical Jets? I must ask, What FAs have the Phins signed to bolster the team? Once again Greene is the #1 RB now. So how is it bad to let an old guy go and sign a back up rb? TJ has been bounced around the league. I think his best numbers came behind the best o-line in the NFL...
Have you ever heard of this Karlos Dansby guy? The problem is that your backup is just as old and less productive at this stage of his career. And they happen to be paying him about the same amount of money. You really can't see how this doesn't make any sense? The Jets went from having two starting caliber, thousand yard workhorse running backs to having one of those guys and two third down backs.
