that's one thing i like a lot about tna. the characters feel more "real" (i can't believe i just said that). they are more accessible and don't feel like the polar extremes that are portrayed in the wwe.

Word is Goldberg and the WWE are close to signing one of those 'Legends' contracts which means Goldberg will make appearances for the WWE, while getting his likeness in future WWE video games, action figures and also getting into the HoF next year when WM is in his hometown of Atlanta, GA. He's not expected to wrestle any matches, but if he's booked right a Goldberg vs. Cena or Undertaker match at next WM would draw big time.

Since Wrestlemania is a few days away I figured we could predict the matches.

Or you can put down what you want to happen.

    - HHH vs. Sheamus
I feel there is no way HHH loses on the big stage to the new guy, however it would be better for the future of both to have Sheamus win.

    - CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio (If Rey Mysterio Loses, He Must Join The Straight Edge Society) I think Rey loses and then at some opportune moment down the road he will turn on the SES .

    - Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Ted DiBiase
I think one of the two will turn on the other to show that he was with Orton all along. Orton and Cody beat up DiBiase and Rhodes lets Orton pin Ted.

    - No Holds Barred Match: Bret Hart vs. Vince McMahon
Bret wins and everyone is happy

*10 Man Money In The Bank Ladder Match: Christian vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Kane vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Jack Swagger vs. MVP vs. Matt Hardy vs. Evan Bourne vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Kofi Kingston
Christion or McIntyre will win ....most likely McIntyre

    - Unified Tag Team Title Match: The Miz and The Big Show © vs. John Morrison and R-Truth

I think there is no way the titles change with this weak match-up

    - Career vs. Streak – Winner By Pin or Submission Only: Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker
    The streak continues!

    - WWE Title Match: Batista © vs. John Cena

Cena will get his revenge and title

    - World Title Match: Chris Jericho © vs. Edge

Tough one to pick but I think Jericho keeps his title however if Edge wins with christian already the winner of MITB I expect an instant cash in.

Can't really argue against any of your picks. I would have said Kofi has a shot at winning the MitB match but for whatever reason he's been buried lately.

Kofi was supposed to get the boot to the head however he stands up(orton tries to push him back down) and you can see Orton gets pissed. He slams his hands on the mat and then yells stupid after RKOing him.

Triple H comes to mind as well.

I haven't ordered a PPV since WM19 and won't start now. Especially for the money that they're asking for per PPV now.

Agree it always seems that the younger talented guys somehow always end up in this so called doghouse. Also yeah I dont really watch the ppvs anymore but if you have one of the blast areas i think they used to be called you can go to it and watch. They are usually in restaurants,by me there is a pizza parlor that shows them and it used to be like 5 bucks per person to watch but I stopped going eventually.

The Miz & Big Show vs. John Morrison & R-Truth is going to be the opening match at WM and the Undertaker/Shawn Michaels match will be the main event (which is a no brainier as it should be).

Man I wonder if HBK is legit retired, that was sad, especially since I first started watching him in like 1995, and is pretty much the reason I even watch pro wrestling.

Just read the results, a few thoughts:

-Extremely happy Jericho walked out as champion instead of just being the WWE whipping boy again. Hopefully this leads to a Jericho/Orton feud that I think would draw pretty well considering how hot Orton is right now.

-Shocked Swagger won the MiTB and while I'm happy it wasn't an obvious choice he most likely will never get to 'cash' it in due to his position on the card.

-Time for Legacy to move to Smackdown now, especially since they were treated like jobbers.

-I guess Triple H's friends can't catch any breaks either nowadays. Sheamus really needed that win, all that match did was reinforce he's a jobber to the stars in the fans eyes.

-I heard both championship matches were pretty good, I'm not surprised with Cena as the guy always delivers in a big match setting. But I am sick of his act, he needs to do something to freshen himself up (which won't happen since the kids love him and they matter right now).

-The Hart/McMahon 'match' was booked perfectly. Well done.

-Why did they give Punk/Mysterio 8 minutes and the tag title match 4? Do we really need a Divas match up?

-I hope this really is HBK's last match since he apparently put on another classic but I'm guessing he'll be back again.

Should be interesting to see where the WWE goes from here. I really think they should book a Jericho/Orton feud now and maybe give Cena/Batista another match up before moving Cena on to a feud with CM Punk or a heel Edge.

Hart McMahon match was really poor....I wasn't expecting much but wow it was way worse than my low expectations.

overall it was an ok Mania not the BEST EVER like some were predicting.

I figured the Hart/McMahon match would be a 5 minute beat down of Vince, with him maybe getting a random nut shot in with Bret no selling as he pulled out a cup. I'm surprised they gave it 10 minutes but it served its purpose. Say what you want about McMahon but the guy does put his body on the line to get his product over. Not sure how many 60 plus year olds would take that many chairshots like that for a throwaway feud.

I don't think anyone was claiming it was going to be the best WM ever (especially since besides a select few guys such as HBK, Jericho, Punk, Mysterio and a lesser extend Edge there weren't a lot of great workers like WM17 for example) but the card was definitely one of the better ones in years. Like I said I haven't seen it but it sounds like it might have been possibly a top 10 WM of all time. But don't hold me to that number since I haven't seen it nor am I putting much effort into a top 10 WM list.

-I almost wish that that was HBK AND Taker's last match. That match deserved to be the main event. Nice Spike Tombstone by Undertaker as well. Quite possibly the exclamation point on his career...so to speak. HBK once again proved why is, in my opinion, the greatest ever. I truly think he is done. But then again, I thought Foley was when he lost to HHH too...so who knows.

-Once I saw that HBK-UT was headlining, I knew Jericho was retaining. They needed to have at least ONE heel champion come out of WM and this felt like a thank you to Jericho for being the most consistent performer for them over the last few years. Plus, this fued really does need to go beyond one month. And it looks like it will, although the idea of a face Orton vs. a heel Jericho is somewhat intriguing.

-Batista has found his home as this current Heel character. I assume he is done with Cena for now, and I am not sure exactly where he goes now. But I assume he will basically continue in his current character. I would say a fued with HHH seems like a good idea, but I think Sheamus is going to to continue on with that. So maybe having Batista return to SD! and think that everyone he passes by is making fun of him for losing or whatever, and just being out of control until someone is brought in to stop him.

-CM Punk probably should have gone over in his match. Not sure what Rey gains by winning. I think Punk could have used the win to help legitimize his "cause," better, but I still feel like he is in the doghouse to a degree.

-Speaking of deserving wins, I think Sheamus needed to win too, or at least kick out of the Pedigree. Someone mentioned that it seemed like they were doing the Austin-Hart, win by losing, routine with him, but it fell short. He looked good, but those moments almost come organically and are very hard to reproduce.

-Swagger winning was surprising...and wrong. And this is coming from a HUGE Swagger fan. The right play was Christian, Kofi or McIntyre. Swagger will turn it in, but will end up being the first MitB guy to NOT win the title. It fits his character perfectly. Either that, or he loses it to someone else. My guess for where he goes is to basically fued with random people over th suitcase and always end up walking out the winner. A fued with Orton would work for me as well since Orton's motivations shouldn't change (i.e. trying to gain the championship).

-Vickie's tribute to Eddy was a nice touch.

-Hart/Vince was too drawn out and once again hit us over the head with a hammer. Did Bret really need to reveal that his family tricked Vince? Wouldn't it have paid off just the same if they had simply just attacked him and Vince nailed one of his gulp faces, turned around and gotten walloped by Bret? It was good to see the Dynasty involved and hopefully it leads to Vince settings his sights on them...and in turn, them getting involved with Show-Miz.

-Overall, I thought it was a solid card. Lots of botched moves tonight, but overall, good card with, quite possibly, the best Wrestlemania match ever to close it out. Great job by WWE.

-On a sidenote, I get the feeling that tonight's Raw is going to suck majorly for some reason. It should be a tribute show to HBK in some respects, but I get the feeling we are going to get a bunch of bad skits involving the guest hosts and a continuation of some fueds that shouldn't be continued.

I assume HBK is probably done wrestling for at least a few years. I expect him to show up from time to time in a non wrestling role, and he will most likely be inducted into the HOF either next year, or the year after.

I suppose the only gripe I could have with his retirement is A: No mention of Jannetty. I know Marty hasn't been relevant in forever, but HBK seemed to speak very highly of him as a friend in his book and a quick nod to the man he broke into the WWF/E with would have been nice. And I suppose if you are going to retire, putting over a younger talent on your way out is always a nice thing to do. I understand the Taker match and probably wouldn't have changed a thing. But it also would have been nice to see Shawn give one last rub to a young established guy. Even if it was Cena, or Orton or Edge. Just someone who will be around in 5-10 years that can add another feather to their own cap. But like I said, I loved the Taker send off so it is just a minor minor gripe.

Overall, RAW was pretty damn good from beginning to end I thought. I think I am going to enjoy Swagger false starting with the MitB briefcase from time to time. I think that is a good way for him to generate a ton of heel heat going forward. Of cours,e the payoff has to be him NOT winning the title, which sucks, but if played right, it will elevate him further.

I liked the Hart Dynasty-ShowMiz angle. Mainly because I almost called it perfectly earlier in the day. Vince needs to be involved to help get all people not named Big Show even more over, but it was a nice start of hopefully a longer issued fued.

I also liked the Sheamus attack as the crowd got into hating him.

Then again the crowd cheered like crazy people for Randy Orton, so go figure.

Good to see Christian make the show on a night where a lot of the young guys were absent. Not that Christian is young, but the midcard basically was left off. No Cody (concussion), no MVP, no Kofi, no Bourne, no Yoshi (who won the battle royal at WM), and a bunch others as well. Obviously it was HBK's night to shine and certain storylines had to be furthered (HHH-Sheamus) or realigned (Batista/Orton/Cena/Swagger), so I expect some of those guys to be front and center starting next week. Especially with Taker and HBK seemingly gone for a long long stretch.

I missed all of Impact tonight. Apparently a first blood women's match was on tap. Interesting... Oh and Orlando Jordan's new entrance seems to be the main talking point. If you haven't seen it, its...well, interesting.

I agree about Jannetty and I was actually going to say something like that in my earlier post. He should have mentioned him. I'm sure if Hall and Nash weren't in TNA he would have mentioned them too.

As for putting a young guy over, to be fair HBK had put over Cena, Orton and Edge numerous times over the past few years and they are pretty established in the main event scene. Not sure another win over HBK would do anything for them. If you want to make a case with someone like CM Punk or The Miz though you could have a point there.

i was not sold on Bret Hart and Shawn's reconciliation being anything more than for storyline purposes til last night... i thought both of them showed class and mutual respect in the way they acknowledged the other last night.

and i am so glad they finally involved the Hart Dynasty in the angle, and gave them a new direction with Miz and Show.

and to me, Miz is the next big thing in WWE. the guy gets better every week.

  35. Samphin

CM Punk would have been my first choice. But the rumor is that Shawn essentially refused to work with him due to the religous overtones of Punk's gimmick. But yes, Punk would have been an ideal person to "retire" HBK. And they would have had a stellar match out of it as well.

But I loved te way he ended it too, so it really is just nitpicking for the sake of nitpicking with me.

The Nasty Boys got fired from TNA. Now if they would do that with about 10 other people they might be heading even further in the right direction.

I actually read a few times before last night's RAW that both HBK and Bret really did forgive each other and had been somewhat friendly backstage which I'm extremely glad if the reports are true, especially for Bret as it seemed like their feud really burned and ate him up inside. For anyone that read Bret's book it was obvious he hadn't let it go.

I love The Miz and have since day one. It's funny that everyone thought that Morrison would be the star of that team yet he seemed to take a few steps back while Miz keeps getting better each week. There's still time for Morrison to become a star too but for whatever reason he hasn't been able to really break through yet like Miz.

That's the best move TNA has made in weeks! I wonder how Hogan feels about it since Knobbs was his boy.

  37. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

Miz hasn't broken through because, in my opinion, he is a much better heel than a face,, yet they have him playing the pompous *** character as a face, which doesn't really work. He is a better worker than Miz still at this point and has a MUCH better look, but Miz connects with the audience better and has a much more natural charisma.

If Morrison was able to be a heel again, I think he would succeed on a greater level. But he is young and the company still has faith in him. He will be a world champion one day.

Oh I agree completely. I don't want to see a face Morrison. He's just a natural heel and reminds me of a updated verison of young heel HBK. I saw no reason for them to turn him face, it just didn't make sense. And yeah Morrison will definitely be a world champion one day, it just seems like he's been stuck in a hole since he lost the IC title. He probably would fair better if he switched shows come draft day.

Speaking of the draft, I know we're still a few weeks away from that but I think Sheamus, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase should definitely switch to Smackdown while Morrison and CM Punk should move to RAW.

    Big Smackdown Spoiler:
Early reports from Smackdown tapings is that Jack Swagger cashed in his MiTB briefcase and won the world title, if true I'm pissed, why take the belt off Jericho so quickly after WM? Geez it just seems like the WWE hates the guy for some reason.
