Sorry for the delay. I overslept. Anyway, Watson and Suh in the middle. Damn, I dare someone to run on this team.
Its official I hate Washington. I tried to move up to the 1 spot to take Bradford. Too bad nothing goes my way
Waiting on Biggtyme to make his pick and then I will go. I'm still unsure who I should take lol, which makes me worried.
It wasn't meant to slight nicky...I'm on my blackberry so pain to multitask in this. Sorry if it came across that way.
i usually try to find something funny i.e. drunk pic at a party but I was having no luck. i didnt want to hold things up any longer so I went with extreme over comedy.
If Dez was still available at 10 I would've been more interested in moving Walker. But if I deal Walker I will have a hole at the top of my WR depth chart.
I've got Duss's choice via message from last night. I'll whip up a quick write-up and post it shortly.
Well lilja is off the board. Cheap quality depth...Kyle devan was a starter for the colts AFC championship team...everyone can go on this list
Kudos. He wasn't my first choice but as I said in the write-up, once he got past Detroit, I knew he'd be there and that would be tough to pass up.
I actually like the pick quite a bit for Detroit, honestly. I think JPP has the most upside of any of the 3-4 OLB candidates.
Yeah, sorry for blaming that one on you. I honestly JPP won't do ANYTHING for several years. I've beenm wrong before....once....a long long time ago. After watching the clips I can find of that kid (There aren't very many available for obvious reasons) I am STILL trying to figure out the fascination over this kid. I guess we will see. As far as being an 3-4 OLB, that really surprises me. He has played all of? 2 or 3 years of football. At least 50% of that was at Whatsamatta U community college. He has playes DE exclusively...for less years than I have fingers on one hand, and you suspect he is ready to jump to another position? I suggest he should first learn his first position before he tackles another.
Jason Pierre-Paul is not new to football, he played end in high school and was highly recruited by many division I programs. He's raw, yes, but if you sit down and watch games of him, he's got talent. It's all about polishing his skills. He's a former basketball player and watching him move around on the field, you can tell. He's comfortable changing directions and in pursuit. If he plays OLB, it's not foreign to him, though he won't have a lot of work in coverage. You can gradually work him in while he further develops his pass rush skills. He's dropped back in coverage at USF but not a lot. It was short zones, similar to spot dropping and he looked fine. Tipped quite a few passes because of his incredibly long arms. I can't remember which game it was but it was kind of early in the season and he completely took over. Tipped passes, QB pressures, had a sack or two IIRC and set the edge well. Dude's got talent. Now he may bust but it's not because he doesn't have the talent, it's because he didn't work hard enough IMO. Last, I don't think this was a reach by Duss. A gamble, sure, but a reach? IMO, no. We all have our boards set up differently. I didn't have Pierre-Paul as an option for me at six nor fourteen. Duss had him at seven.
Wait, what? Then why did he go from playing at a small CC to Juco to a very small School? Not questioning you, just something doesn't add up....at all.
Academics. Didn't qualify for programs like LSU, Alabama and UCF. USF is not a very small school IMO. It's no UF but it's not Temple either.
Academics? Cmon, when was the last time somebody that was "Highly recruited" not make it to at the very very least to a second tier School. Relatively speaking, USF is a very small school.
