Chad Pennington failed as a quarterback for the New York Jets. They released him prior to the 2008 season in favor of legend Brett Favre. 31 teams had a chance at Pennington the quarterback. 30 of those teams passed on that offer. Pennington had fallen to where only the 1-15 Miami Dolphins would stoop low enough to sign him. But not even Miami intended on him being just a quarterback. As soon as week 3 of the 2008 season, the Dolphins started using Pennington as a wide receiver. They kept it secret during training camp; but not for too long. The Dolphins had started converting Chad Pennington from quarterback to wide receiver. This has been done before. Think Matt Jones. So now we're in the 3rd year of the Pennington conversion. As with any good WR, this is his make or break season. The third year is crucial in evaluating whether a receiver is going to take the next step and become a starter. I'm expecting at least 60 receptions from Pennington this year. He has been worknig with Henne for 3 years now. This could be the new Dolphins prolific tandem!!!!
ok. lets put some money on it. whoever gets to 60 recs in 2010 first, wins. if ginn gets to 60 first, i get $50. if pennington gets to 60 first, u get $50. if neither get 60 recs, we both get nothing.
I think he could play both QB and WR.....at the same time I doubt he's got enough arm left to out throw himself
reading between the lines: maybe we just suck as a franchise & hold little hope of ever contending everything done up to now has been inadequate & will lead to another disappointing season even the most fervent amongst us have been reduced to sarcasm reading between the lines. I believe we will contend in 2010
Friend Imeister3: I know, pretty funny how could I confuse 305 w/350 well, on the home page of our forum under team he is listed @ 350 not 305 & (unlike Penny)Stark has played NT before I didn't make that up, just read it having said that would like to add that I have never posted anything ridiculing the franchise, however stupid the post good night ladies
Gish allow me to drop some knowledge on you. Pennington is not a WR! He never even caught a pass! Only I and the FO know his true worth to this team. Thats because teams were quadruple teaming him on the outside. You thought Ronnie was the reason the Wildcat was a success. LOL no way.
Pennington HAS played wide reciever. Everytime the Dolphins lined up in the wildcat. Penny probably has more career snaps at WR than Starks has at NT.
Wr? Pssshaw, Cyborg Pennington 2010 is learning to throw..with his left arm..it's faster than all the rehab he has to do on his right shoulder.
