Right or wrong, though, he needs to shut up.

The NFL doesn;t owe him anything.

He needs to get over himself and reaslise that he's getting criticized because people don;t like how he is acting. If he is "too big' for that, and doesn;t think people have the right to judge him, then his head is not in reality. This is a multi-billion dollar business and yes, every team and the prognosticators care about every indicator of your mental focus and character.

He's so dumb or arrogant that the fact HE is the one who is asking THEM for a job hasn't occurred to him yet.

I'm liking him less and less.

And, by the way, Dez, compare yourself to Randy Moss all you want, you;re still a dude who has not caught a single catch in the NFL yet and is taling like you have the right to mouth off. Not a good start.

Give me Dan Williams or Rolando McClain please.

Or trade down and let someone else take on Dez "I'm So Great I Can Do What I Want And People Should Chill Out" Bryant

They may be true, but I don't like him.

And I love the Dolphins. Don;t want dudes I don;t like on the team that I love.

    lol.

Not quite a football argument, but an honest one.

I'm pretty sure asking rookies which NFL players they compare themselves to is a routine question. And what exactly is the right answer in that circumstance? I mean, I'd be worried if Dez Bryant projected and compared himself to, say, Ernest Wilford.

It didn;t sound like he was asked which receiver he thought he was like. He was talking about being criticized and compared his situation to Randy Moss' coming out. As if to say, look what a mistake it was for all those people who passed on Moss because of 'concerns'. They'll be making the same mistake if they pass on me.

I dunno... there truly is a fine line between the confident cockiness necessary for great wideouts and an arrogance that's a turnoff. Bryant is beginning to flirt with the wrong side of the line for me.

That's just a personality thing. Not so much that I think he won;t play great. I'm sure he'll perform well on the field.

And I see nothing wrong with that. Look at it from Bryant's perspective: a lot of innuendo about him is making the rounds. Just for the sake of argument, let's presume it's all BS. So you're Dez Bryant hearing your name dragged through the mud by people who don't know you, and you know what they're saying is false, and it could affect your draft stock in a serious way. Drawing a historical parallel to make a point about not liking how that particular scenario is unfolding is a pretty mild reaction, IMO.

And the bit about making teams pay? Yeah, if they believed things that weren't true and passed on you as a result, that's the standard reaction among athletes. How many times has a player been cut or traded or not retained who went somewhere else and burned his former team when they met on the field?

Without ESPN's coverage of Terrell Owens, this paragraph never gets written, IMO. The idea that talented WRs are predominantly divas, and that divas are predominantly WRs, is just silly.

Well, I never said it was just WR's, but that is a predominant thought promulgated by the media.

To me, where there is smoke repeatedly, there is porbably fire. I get your side though, because if he IS truly not 'guilty' of anything it must be frustrating. But it begs the question, why would there be repeated and systematic 'smears' against this one particular guy?

SOMETHING must be causing it, and absent any logical agenda that has nothing to do with Dez, I have to figure it's something to do with Dez. Heck, maybe people don;t like him, maybe it's because they don;t like his AGENT and so are going to give that agent's clients a hassle, who knows.

I just know that there are hundreds of players in this draft about whom we don;t need to be having this discussion and I am more comfortable withthem.

If it's not Dez' fault, then that sucks for him and he needs to go kick some *** and get to the bottom of any lies. Still... this IS a guy the NCAA suspended. They weren;t mistaken too were they? or lying to smear him? He even admitted that he intially lied to them.

With a pick this high up, I don;t even want to hear about lying, controversy, and repeatedly being 'misunderstood'. I don;t care how it's starting, the stench is distracting.

Who just so happen to be promulgating the Bryant nonsense, in part because their team sources are interested in setting up smokescreens this time of year.

You answered your own question: "where there's smoke, there's fire." The problem is, in this case, there is no fire. For example, the stuff about Dez Bryant being late for meetings and games? Mike Gundy personally shot that down: Bryant missed a grand total of one meeting... in his freshman year. And no games, ever.

There's smoke here because people are picking up the allegations because someone somewhere on the Interwebs said it, so it must be true. I'm sorry, but I see you as being guilty of this. Other people are repeating the allegations and making vague allusions to diva issues, but there's never any substance to the allegation, just a lot of "smoke," to borrow the word.

Lastly, how did major character risk Vontae Davis work out for us? Pretty well, I'd say.

They suspended him because he admitted lying to them, not because they could otherwise prove that he violated NCAA policies. And he admitted lying to them because he felt guilty about it, so we're not quite talking about Bill Clinton here.

Obviously you have to be a Rhodes Scolar to not talk like an idiot. Now I'm LMAO. When was the last time you heard Jason Taylor do an interview like that? I'm not even saying they shouldn't draft him because of that, just that I think he makes himself sound ignorant and like he has no real respect for himself. Everyone's quick to make excuses of course. He's poor, he's southern... whatever.

JS I love your posts man, but come on!! you dont think we need defense in a major fashion?? you think picking defense over Dez at 12 is a panicked pick?? We added KD, great, but nothing else...as of right now bro Chris Clemons or Culver is your FS, and Charlie Anderson is your starting OLB.....you think it is a paniced pick with defense at 12??

FYI...Earl Thomas beasted his pro day yesterday....

So, instead of addressing the defense, we need a wide receiver that the team will have to have a one on one babysitter to stay with him 24/7 just to get him to practice on time?

Okay thats what an agent is for. Seriously with so many scouts and professionals on staff you think a GM is going to listen to Mayock or Kiper and value there opinion on a mans character or ethics. If so that is when your agent comes to bat setting up personal interviews and assessments.

The kid is wacked. He is acting like Crabtree! Who is this guys agent? Oh same guy! Please Please too many red flags on this guy. Diva, Eugene Parker, Holdout capable!

I would be shocked if Bill wastes #12 on this guy. As much as Marshall is a bad idea I would much rather spend the #12 on an established Pro Bowl caliber head case.

I am willing to eat a flock of crow if they draft bryant! This just does not make any sense.....

His own coach came out and said that all of those rumors about being late were untrue except for being late to one meeting during his freshman year.

Even if Bryant is still available for Miami to draft they will pass on him, because Miami figures if they ignore the problem long enough of not having a number one guy the problem will go away. But seriously how does this kid show up for his pro day and forget his cleats ?

Thanks, that helps. It seems to me that most of the people who keep attacking Bryant or claiming he's a diva are basing it primarily on unverified facts. I prefer to base my opinions on facts.

The only verified facts I've heard are:

    1. He lied to the NCAA about a non-violation.
    2. He was late to a meeting as a freshman.
    3. He had a horrible childhood.

    The unverified or debunked rumors:

    1. He was late to games and practices. (false per his coach through Mayock)
    2. He doesn't work hard in practice. (false per coach through McShay)
    3. He got fat and out of shape during the year off. (false as shown by skills competition and then pro day)

    I'm sure there are more.

No I don't......trying to build an all world defense and ignoring the offense is being ignorant of what wins in today's NFL.

And....trying to do it all in one year is panicking.

I like Thomas but it would serve us better to just go after Sharper for a couple year rental while we try and develop the players on the roster. It would be foolish to give up on those guys just yet.

The full quote on that talked about Pacman working out since his troubles and the past being the past. It's clear that Bryant was saying that Pacman did everything right since.

His coach has never been a guy who covers for players. In fact, Gundy was the guy who berated him publicly as a freshman when he was late. And he was the same coach who praised Bryant when he responded positively and improved but continued to berate that other WR (I'm blanking on the name) who didn't improve. Why would you think that Gundy would is covering for Bryant now when that's never been his M.O. before?

Well at least we know he's not a reach at #12 and are gambling on character and not ability......unlike all of those LB's everyone is gushing over.

At #12 you take the guy you know can play......and not one of those guys you like is of the talent level Bryant is..
