http://miamiherald.typepad.com/dolp...-group-of-players-we-have-right-now-been.html WOW i didnt know that... Good for him
IT IS WHAT IT IS : a reluctant GinnJr. doesn't want to take a hit, doesn't want to take a chance on getting hurt & remains our reluctant great hope. can't play scared in the NFL apparently, we can't get a draft pick for him.
Chris Chambers had the 8th best catch %!!!!!! Aaaaarrggggghhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm gonna light myself on fire now.
Quit making assumptions. Obviously we all know that Ginn had trouble catching the ball last year, but to say "apparently we can't get a draft pick for him" as if it were matter of fact? Do you have connections to any NFL teams? I doubt it. If you did... and you were that far up the chain... you probably wouldn't be allowed to regularly post on message boards. I think we're beating a dead horse here, Ginn is what he is. I'm tired of people drawing conclusions based on their own opinions though.
Camarillo has always been a great receiver for us. If you can get him open it's money. We need to create some sort of freak mutant WR with Ginn's legs, Camarillo's hands, and Bess' field vision/tenacity. Till then, fingers crossed for Dez, and having him work out.
If Ginn comes in this year and catches like 85 balls for 1200 yards and takes like 5 kick returns to the house, I will develop a taste for crow such as you have never seen. I will happily eat them to extinction.
Haha - so as long as he does what only 4 WR's and ZERO returners did last year you'll be happy? I think maybe we should set the bar a little higher.
He's too scared to catch the ball, can't fix scared...will be happy when he's gone. Whatever happened to Sporanos "this franchise does not tolerate mediocrity" philosophy? Keeping him around just makes the HC look like a hypocrite and sets a bad precedent for the rest of the team
GIK....relax bro...shotgun a few brews, what else is there to talk about than a number 9, mutil million dollar pick that is estentially a returner....... which begs the question if he does in fact drop the ball that much, why is he a returner?? Speed??? at least he can quickly run to the sideline....and out of bounds
Being that we're on a fan message board, I don't think any of us needs to qualify that what we post are opinions. I think it's pretty well assumed. And 'apparently' doesn't mean fact.
Can't play scared in this league, absolutely. But by and large, that guy is best served to get down and get out of bounds. He's light and lanky. And when he has sacrificed and taken big hits, the results haven't been very good. We've seen the guy go flying.
Which begs the question, why is he still on the team? And why does he have any fanbase at all? I see all these people with "Ginn apologist" in their sigs and I just don't get it... I would have thought every Dolphin fan in existence along with Tony Sparano would have wanted to get this mediocrity as far away from this team as possible by now.
I think he's still on the team because he has something that nobody else at the position has; speed to burn. And he's a good kid that works hard. Players and coaches like him. If someone were to offer up a good draft pick, I think they'd move him. It doesn't hurt anything to keep him around thru camp and have him compete. If we ended up with someone like Dez Bryant, Ginn could potentially become a dangerous secondary option. But what if we don't address the position? What if another year goes by and he's still the #1 guy? Why get rid of him if you can't do any better? I don't think anybody here is under the impression that this regime won't replace somebody if they've got a better option. While I'm not a 'hater/apologist' kind of person, I don't see anything wrong with being a fan of a guy who gives his all. They can't all be great.
Well you've got a point but I don't see him giving his all, I see him constantly saying he's going to step it up. Which to me says he's not giving it his all he's just doing what he can to stay on the field and collect his paycheck. If he was giving it his all he wouldn't be able to "step it up" because there would be no "up" to step to. It just bothers me personally, I have never seen him give it his all, i've always seen him shy from contact, slide down almost like a QB to avoid being hit, run out of bounds, drop passes because he's afraid of being hit etc and it really bothers me to see that on this team as I think it affects more than just him. I think it affects the whole team by sending the message that it's ok to be mediocre as opposed to the message that they are trying to get accross that "mediocrity will not be tolerated". I think pretty much the whole league sees him for what he is, I don't ever see us getting a draft pick for him. I just see him skating by on the Phins payroll for as long as they will tolerate it, and that bothers me :/
I see nothing really changed here. I leave for a few months and people are still saying the same regurgitated crap. Congrats.
Happened to catch NFLN's "path to the draft" this evening and Charlie Casserly was gushing over CJ Spiller's ability to rack up "all purpose yrds". No doubt, however Ted Ginn is no piker when it comes to all purpose yardage, he is already under contract... Put Ginn on returns from Day 1, if he earns that jobs and he will be top 5 in all purpose yardage.
This thread was supposed to be about how good Greg Camarillo is, but sure enough a Ginn hater finds a way to bash Ginn. Why am I not suprised.
No it wasn't, raf.....it was about "drops" of which Ginn is 3rd worst in the NFL. And as far as "Ginn bashing"...this thread is pretty mild. But if you want to escalate it, calling ppl out is a good way to do that. just sayin bro
I take it you only look for Ginn threads then......because there's been some pretty good stuff on here since you been gone. Sorry you missed it
I guess you're right. But the thread starter was talking about Greg Camarillo, I figured why change the subject to something we've talked about a million times already. I'll stay calm though.
BS stat IMO. How do they determine it exactly? If he touches it? Does it take bad passes into consideration? I am curious. The Ginn bashing is sad....real sad
Well for future reference they kinda look like this: oops, sorry, wrong folder Anyways, hope this helps
I can't believe you have that picture saved on to your computer. That's disturbing on so many levels. He's right though. The bashing is sad.
At what point does a consensus stop being an assumption? But yeah, Ginn is what he is. Just about everything 23 said. Well perhaps the draft pick part. Someone may give a 7th for him, so I'll give you that!!!
Dude, look at his form @ those first two... It's like he practices putting the ball on the ground. Notice the right foot in front, just in case it looks like a catch, he can still deliver a timely kick to the ball to make the drop undisputable. If you notice on that last one, you can clearly see Tracy Porter's eyes wide in awe of the aforementioned skill. I was amazed as well. How does he do it?
ginns drop in the indy game last season hurt bad he comes down with that football and he is a hero for a week. you have to make that catch he had 11 catches that night his 12th would have won the football game he doesnt want it folks
