That was embarrassing. I thought it was going to be a long game if Ginn is going to be able to break tackles like that.

Not a bad deal for both sides. Lions get the speed they covet in a back, Texans get a decent inside back for the future and a pick for their defense.

Alex, you are offering fair deals!!! Have you forgotten everything I taught you???

    Halfway There

Some people were worried about the Jacksonville Jaguars coming into week nine. Two recent power ranking polls both had the Jaguars as the #1 overall team, and some thought this new attention would go to the players' heads. Combined with that would be a San Diego Chargers team that was on a four game win streak, highlighted by a route against the defending AFC Champions, and ranked 11 & 12 themselves.

The game started off on a good note for Jacksonville when Yamon Figurs returned the opening kickoff 102 yards for a touchdown, his fifth return for a TD on the year. San Diego didn't let this deter them however, as Philip Rivers steadily marched his offense down the field. A 14 yard pass out of the backfield to Darren Sproles tied the score up at 7-7. The Jaguars went on offense and the first play from scrimmage David Garrard rolls out and finds Mike Sims-Walker, who sidesteps Antonio Cromartie to score off the 75 yard pass. Later on the next drive the Jaguars defense was able to stop San Diego on a fourth down. A few plays later and Maurice Jones-Drew made San Diego pay for the missed conversion, barreling his way through defenders on the way to a 56 yard touchdown and the last score of an explosive first quarter.

In the second quarter some of the offensive fireworks died down and the defenses settled in. The only score would be a short TD run from the Jags' Shagg Makino, making the score going into the half 28-7. Third quarter also saw the defenses step up as both teams created interceptions and Jacksonville began to play more conversatively. This quarter the only score would come from the Chargers in the form of a Malcom Floyd touchdown. The fourth quarter saw Jacksonville hit the run game hard and chew some clock. With two minutes left in the game MJD stole a page out of Miami's playbook and scored out of the wildcat formation to seal the deal 35-14.

    .........................................................

It was just a year ago when the Jaguars started off 4-7, but it seems so far away. The 2010 squad find themselves at 8-0 halfway through the season. The poor ticket sales and whispers of relocation just another distant memory as well. Averaging 43.5 points a game on offense while giving up 14 points on average defensively, the Jaguars seem to have both sides of the ball dialed in. A large part for the offensive sucess is Maurice Jones-Drew, who broke the 1,000 yard mark this game and maintains the league's rushing lead. On the receiving side of things Mike Sims-Walker continues with his breakout season.

The Jaguars remain one game above the Tennessee Titans in the AFC South. This week the Titans have a bye and will head to Houston to play an improving Texans team next week. Week ten Jacksonville will make the trip out to Denver to play another AFC West opponent.

    Yamon Figurs returns opening kickoff.
    Sims-Walker 75 yard TD reception.
MJD's big run in the first quarter.

Bo$$ is a good player, I kind of got lucky with my kickoff and first offensive play going for TDs, then MJD knocking some heads in.

Between Figurs, Makino, Rolle, and Pryce I owe you a steak dinner or something. Pryce had five tackles today, most either at the line of scrimmage or behind it. I let go of a defensive end that starts for Barry now I think, should have tried getting something before I released.

PVP preview with a little review of week 9

    Saints (5-3)
    MrBigKatt
    Packers (6-2)
    Keyz-E

Big game for both teams. Saints are in 3rd place in his amazingly hard division and needs to win to keep up with the Panthers and Falcons. Packers need this win to remain in striking distance of the Lions. This game could also be important in a playoff tie breaker if Madden calculates tie breakers accurately.

    Cowboys
    finomenal
    Lions
    HurriPhins44

If I did reviews this would be my upset of the week. Cowboys defeated the undefeated Lions. Now the Cowboys still have a shot at the playoffs. I miss Sick's two weeks of doing reviews. He probably just worked too hard on them.

    Chargers
    SaNtaClAuS
    Jaguars
    Starry31

Another "review". Jaguars beat the crap out of a team that beat the crap out of the Ravens. I regret all the trades I made with him. Live and learn, live and learn.

    Broncos (3-4)
    DisPak
    Chiefs (5-2)
    parkers212

It is hard to say it is a must win for the Broncos, however it is pretty darn close. With a very tight wild card race losing will put him farther behind in the division. The Chiefs two losses were against the CPU Chargers and the high flying Cardinals. He also beat some quality opponents. Big game for both teams as the Chiefs can catch the Chargers for the division lead with the win.

    Panthers (6-1)
    FailHorn
    Falcons (5-2)
    rvmartinez64

Huge game for the Falcons as they can tie the Panthers for the division lead. This is the first of two matches between these squads. Panthers proved beatable after a loss, however they are still the favorites to win it all.

    Texans (2-5)
    ILWakeAir
    Steelers (5-2)
    Enforce33

Since this does not have to be unbiased, GO TEXANS!! Steelers played their first human opponent last week and were killed. Lets see if they bounce back against another team with an amazing offense. Texans need this game if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive.

    Rams (2-5)
    Zerosity
    Cardinals (5-2)
    amenart

If the Rams want to make the playoffs this is close to a must win game as it gets. They have an amazing offense to contend with. Unfortunately for the Rams coach, they just do not have that good of a team. He will have to pull off all his madden tricks to win. However any given sunday. If the Gods of Madden are on his side, anything can happen. Stupid Gods of Madden having my damn cornerbacks drop easy *** interceptions.

    Bears (3-4)
    Graythreat
    Seahawks (4-3)
    samsparents

As we go closer and closer to the post season these pvp games are more and more important. As they will most likely be the difference between playoffs and not playoffs. If I had more energy for this, I would look at the remaining opponents for each team and try to gauge which ones had a harder schedule and see how important these games are.

For instance the Bears have 3 CPU games left out of his 9 remaining games, with 3 of his player games against 2 of the weaker player teams this year. No disrespect to mor and BPK. Still human games can go either way. Still that is 6 out of 9 very winnable games.

Seahawks have 2 CPU games left out of the 9 and with 2 of his player against against 1 of the weaker player teams this year. No disrespect meant to zerocity. For him that is 4 out of 9 very winnable games left for the Seahawks.

If the teams win all their winnable games that will leave the Bears 9 wins and Seahawks with 8 wins. That is of course if they win all their winnable games. Looking at it from that angle, this game is bigger for the Hawks as they have less room for error.

    Colts (3-5)
    b00g1E_p0p
    Giants (6-1)
    ashraf1992

Colts need this game if they want to remain the playoff hunt. Giants have a comfortable lead in their division.

Phins/seahawks is in the books. We got a dc just under halfway through the first game. Was frustrating because it could have gone either way and we lost some awesome highlights...his first two offensive plays were TDs, my first KR went for a TD and he blew moore up to cause a fumble returned for a TD. I countered by scoring on a valley 4th down play inside his 20. A bit later wr got DCd during a challenge on a catch.

2nd game was far less spectacular. My D continues to struggle with tackling, but I got decent predsure to cause a few good picks. Hester ran 2 KRs back for
TDs. One early, and one late to stop the seahawks comeback.

Winnable games. After I wrote the pvp I got curious with half the games left, how many winnable games do each team has. Winnable games are against CPU and right now the three player teams that are not performing well this year, the Eagles, Vikings and the Rams. That could change as the players improve, however right at this second they seem to be losing most of their pvp games. I thought of putting down the Colts, however the player hasn't played much so I do not know if it is winnable for sure. However he did lose his few games he did play. So I will mention them.

The number I put at the end will be winnable games + current wins. Call it If they win their winnable games or ITWTWG or Wins for Sure or WFS(even though there is any given sunday). This is mostly to show the importance of PVP remaining, which will be IPVP.

    Cleveland Browns: BigDogHunt 8-0

Browns only have 2 CPU games left and one of his player games left is against the Colts. However that is at the end of the season and the player who plays the Colts could improve by then.

    WFS 10
    IPVP 6

    Jax Jaguars: Starry31 8-0

Jax has only one game left against a CPU. They do have one game against the Eagles and the Colts.

    WFS 10
    IPVP 6

    HurriPhins44 Detroit Lions 7-0

Lions have 4 CPU games and 1 game against the Rams. That is 5 winnable games left.

Steelers prevail over a depleted Texan team. Already without star wideout Andre Johnson, Schaub goes out in the first not to return making the Texans one dimensional with just Slaton to depend on for big plays. And he still managed some really good ones. But The Steelers edge this one out 38-24. I saved some highlights..I dont know where theu go or how to get them,.....but they are saved.

Good game Eric! I'll tell you what though. This is two weeks in a row now. Last game, opening kickoff, Andre Johnson goes down. This week, opening drive, Schaub goes out, and can't return. Really takes the fun out of the game immediately. Gonna be honest.

And if there were better qb's on the market, Orlovsky you would be toast. That cat has the worst accuracy I have ever seen. Sailing balls left and right. Bum. Only positive that came out of this game for me was that maybe my running got a little better. The game keeps taking away everything else I have.

    Groves has been good.

He's had limited time, actually. I have only played him in 6 of my games, and only in dime, dollar and quarter packages.

In those snaps he's managed 4 sacks for me. Good production as a rush specialist. If he finishes the year with 8, I'll be thrilled considering he was a free agent pick up.

Sorry you ended up with less production at the position, Starry, but when I look at our records, I don't think it has hurt you very much.

Lions are standing pat with their roster. Road to the superbowl starts here. I'm still so mad at myself for last game...my play calling was so stubborn and terriible.

I had no faith in my backs even though they were getting yardage. Except Lorenzo Booker. He sucked.

So I won't be making a trade. Otha Gardner is starting, learn his name.
