JT is old and on his last leg anyway so who cares if he goes to the Jets Somehow I knew he would end up with a division rival he got his feelings hurt again so he is going to play traitor bye bye JT i wont miss you
I can just imagine Ryan telling Taylor he will make him an everydown LB and help revive his career. Taylor wants regular playing time and not just a situational pass rusher. Taylor has sit back and waited a long time in free agency for the Dolphins to make a deal for him. Maybe this is his way to get the Dolphins to make a move?
I dont think kids in pee wee football grasp the true meaning of hated rivials....you dont do crap like this only unless you reject it at that end...I understand it is a business however all the really good players who get it, do not don the uniform of the rivial...JMO....IDK there are sell outs and there isnt sell outs....if JT talks all that about everything Jets related, then goes there because they offered 3/4/5 million over 1 yr, when he is already set for life financially...then your a sell out bum, who kaked everything he ever said... go find the money from some other team besides the Jets or the Pats, as the best pass rusher left in FA, it is out there for him....
if you don't pay the man and he looks elsewhere then thats business. You can't say well the dolphins didn't want to pay him and think thats ok, then get all pissy when he looks some where you don't want him to. Thats beyond ridiculous. Its either a business, or it's not, you can't have both.
I saw that on Twitter. I think that guy's "source" is full of ****. I could be wrong, but according to Salguero Taylor's agent "twisted his arm" to go on this trip because Taylor didn't even want to take the visit. Also, according to Mando, Taylor's agent said they would probably not sign a deal on the trip. Could be leverage, but "a done deal"?! We'll have to wait and see.
Again I understand that bro, and I am a huge "business" end of football guy, pay guys the market value all that....however I am old school in you dont do that...bottom line, any "legend" of a franchise doesnt go to a rival...and arguably JT is a legend in Miami....Dan isnt going to the Pats, or the Jets, he retired, I bet the thought didnt even cross his mind, Zach said he could never picture himself doing it...Mariano Rivera said he has nothing against the Red Sox, however he couldnt sign with them because it is just too "akward".....I am a traditionalist in a sense.... In the end if he goes, whatever, like Killa said he is older and past his prime, it would just be unfortunate, cuz I would wash my hands with him, and I like JT, would like to see his number up in the second tier someday...but not if he does this....
Its one thing to go to a rival when you've been offered something at your main team, a whole other thing to do so when you haven't been offered anything. JT has been pretty classy, far from farve, I don't think he deserves the traitor bs and all that.
that is the thing, we dont know if he has been offered a contract by Miami, if he will, wont, who knows....but because he hasnt yet, doesnt mean it wont happen...it is only April, its puts Miami in a spot where they almost have to crap or get off the pot with JT, and I am sure they would like to draft out first, then give JT a contract...
those 2 arent legends...but how are those 2 viewed?? I want to kill him in Boston....and IDK about you guys, but I didnt care when he got hurt (Welker)...ehh shoulda stayed with Miami...
we don't. good point. But there have been reports that up to a couple of weeks ago, they weren't even returning his phone calls. Sorry, if thats my career and you are leaving me in limbo, all bets are off IMO.
JT came back to miami and played for cheap last season and issued a big apology to try to polish his tarnished legacy and now he is going to burn that bridge again by signing with the hated Jets This is the Jason Taylor we all know and love
JT wants a ring .... the JESTS made it to the playoffs last year ... the 'sell' is that they will be even better this year -- wouldn't surprise me one bit if he signs ... the only thing that keeps him from going is his family .....
I almost feel like JT doesnt know his role so to speak, the man is past his prime, and is a fallback option for teams at this point, albeit a pretty good one....
There are things you do, and just DON'T do and this is one of them. Its one thing to sign with Washington, its a completely different matter to sign with the NY Jests. This is a sinful thing (in the context of Football Religion), almost the ultimate sin, in that case. This is cavorting with the enemy, the hated of hated, the devil incarnate ! Even the nasty Pats is not as a great a sin as the NY Jests. If JT does this, he will be dead in my eyes, and NEVER worthy of a place in the Ring of Honor. Its such a shame because he was one of my favorite Dolphins of all time. He does this, he becomes the equvilant of Judas Iscariot !
didnt he leave 8 million or something like that, on that table in washington, to come back down here and play for only 1 million? and i was not disapointed with him at all last season. he deserves to play, and deserves to be paid. if we dont give it to him, some one else will. i cant hate him for doing what he needs to do. i would HATE to see him play for a rival team, but i couldnt hate taylor himself. he my not be as good as he once was, but he is still better then anyone we have.
I feel ya, but keep in mind if JT waits until after the draft, he may not land a job, in that I don't hate him for looking for work when we are offering him nothing. But going to the Jest? I could deal with JT going to the Patsies over the Puke Green Inbred Crew. And besides, this is what makes football fun to watch.
Who cares? I care. Not only is JT a Dolphins legend, but he's on numerous occasions taken shots at the Jets' fans and the team. I don't expect him to sign there, and I'm happy about the report of Taylor not even wanting to go there. I love him to death, but would lose all respect for him if he signed with them.
It may not be popular opinion but if JT signs with the Jets, I will never forgive him and will burn all 5 of his jerseys that I have. That would be complete betrayal to me.
Your choice, to me I'd keep at least one, it's fine to be angry over all of this, but long term Jason Taylor is the dolphins all time best defensive player, signing with the Jest won't change that fact. When JT goes into the Hall of Fame, it will be as a Dolphin.
I have to disagree with you. Signing with the Jets is a slap in the face to the team and Dolphin fans worldwide. I'm truly, truly disappointed in him and I've been one of his biggest supporters.
As long as JT is willing to get paid what they paid Feeley, they can sign him, if JT is not willing, the Jets will not be able to sign under the current rules

Well JT DOES want a superbowl ring before he retires, and going off of last season, the Jets have a better chance than Miami
I've been telling everyone for a while now that JT doesn't care about the Dolphins. no one ever listens you guys just called me a hater he is a "me" guy and his feelings have been hurt again i am not in the bit surprised by him going to the Jets
now everyone is going to defend him for going to a hated rival every excuse in the book is used on this guy how about he is just an egomaniac with selfish tendencies a diva of sorts
It's not a done deal dude. As for your first comment, he took less money to play here last year. So by what reasoning do you make the conclusion that he "doesn't care about the Dolphins"?
You've spent 3 months detailing why you think JT shouldn't be resigned to begin with Killahp, so somehow I think you're objectivity is questionable. . A part of me thinks all JT going to the Jest would do is turn the heat up on the rivalry to just below surface temperature of the sun levels..which means it would be even more enjoyable to watch. However I do think, feel, and believe, the 2010 Dolphins need Jason Taylor, otherwise we start LB's and De's with less than 30 career sacks among them, for the entire unit, that is unacceptably short sighted.
