to prove my point that JT is a me guy and when he gets is ego bruised he tries to take it out on the Dolphins. Same game he played in the '08 offseason when he lied to the team
I understand your point, but I'am looking at his. If he wants to play, he should be able to play as long as someone wants him and if the fricking jests are the only team that wants him, then so be it. Jason was a great player for us and I loved watching him play in the proud aqua and orange, but everything must come to a end sooner or later. If he does sign with that green POS team then I would hope for nothing but pain for him.
Not sure why his legacy is tarnished. He's had a great career, the Dolphins traded him, he came back for less money. IF he signs with the Jets, I still don't see how that tarnishes his legacy. Would I be a little bitter? Probably. But it won't diminish the great career he's had here. Hell, Tom Glavine went to the Mets and I still love the guy.
http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/je...eed:+nydnrss/blogs/jets+(Blogs/The+Jet+Stream) 1.25 million? No way JT pulls stakes up for that small of an amount of money, now they could work around that limit, depending on how creative the Jests wish to be, but that is just not enough cash. Especially if the NY/NJ taxes are taken out, JT would be playing for for 1 million dollars, maybe less.
If this regime lets this happen knowing he wants to return and we have a gaping hole at his position... as a fan it'd be the last straw before they get Rick Speilman treatment. Seriously... $1.25 million? That means that he'd probably re-sign here for a million flat or slightly more. This is ridiculous.
IF IT HAPPENS... Why is it **** you Jason Taylor? It should be **** you Bill Parcells & Jeff Ireland.
Not a true one Pads, not a true one.....team is always first, like country is always first....never sell out the entity... I dont begrudge him for trying to find work, he has to with so little time, the interest in him fades....but it has to be with the any of the other 29 teams besides, us, them, and the cheaters...
Well, there is the old easily makeable incentives deal that used to happen when the Salary Cap still mattered, for example "if JT starts 8 games, 250k bonus" or "JT has 3 sacks 400k bonus" The salary is more concerned with signing bonuses and base salary, so the 1.25 million could easily become 3 or 4 million.
Well hopefully this lights a fire under Ireland's *** to stop being a knucklehead and pay the man some $$$$
Why is everyone being over-dramatic? I though this forum was full of adults? Do you guys not realize this is a business? People here are saying things like "I'll never forgive him" or "he's a traitor". It's something about this forum where a lot of the people here think they have a personal relationship with every Dolphin player. "I'll never for give him" LOL!!!!!!
This feeling is what i expect from many jet fans, since, well JT had some not so nice things to say about Jet fans in general. I find it hard for him playing there without getting booed
Because football is a game of emotion krypto, unless one is a gambler, meaning bonds form with players over the years, and JT has been in Miami for 12 yrs, and has been many a game with the Jests, both the good, like 01 and the bad, like the MNF collapse, to see him head north for peanuts is bothersome.
he lied to the team before he was traded if you recall he said he would come back to the team for camp after DWTS but instead bolted for hollywood and left his teammates hanging he was a supposed to be a leader on this team instead he showed his true colors
How does he sign there?? after stuff like this........I mean how?? Moeny isnt everything, and with the parody in football alot more teams besides the Jets are in it....they need offense, not defense... On implosion of old Meadowlands Stadium in 2009: "Go ahead, they can turn it into a parking lot for all I care." On the Jets' talking trash under Rex Ryan during 2009 season: "There comes a point where you've got to win with class, and you've got to lose with class, and we try to do that. We're not perfect. We do engage in some of the trash going back and forth, but at the end of the day we have two wins, and I think that gives us a little more reason to talk." After Jets beat Dolphins 40-13 in Miami during 1-15 2007 season: "They suck, too. They beat us. They'll go home happy, and their fans will be happy that they got three wins this year." On returning a fumble for a touchdown against the Jets in 30-25 win at Meadowlands in 2009: "To score a touchdown in New York against the Jets in the last time I'll be in the hellhole they call a stadium up there before they get rid of it and move to the new one, it was outstanding." On relationship with Jets fans on Sirius NFL Radio in November, 2009: "The problem I have is with the Jets fans. It's not really a problem; it's kind of this rivalry that has gone on, and they love to hate me, and I love to hate them, and we've had some fun over the years. They've had a lot of fun at my expense. I've had some fun at their expense at times. It's the times like this where you beat them and they just keep talking. They just keep going, and they just don't know when to be quiet. You know, I've said a lot of things about Jets fans in the past, and I'm sure at heart they're good people. Most of them are good people. The Giants fans are a different type of people. Just put it that way. There's a little more class on the Giants' side, and some Jets fans take the 'c-l' out of class." On playing possibly for the Jets as a free agent prior to 2009 season: "It'd be very, very, very difficult. At the end of the day, if I couldn't find a job anywhere else and the Jets called, I guess I'd have to retire or go play. ... "The Jets are the Jets. I've had a lot of history saying bad things about Jets fans. The fireman hat guy [Fireman Ed], and all of the people in New York that are Jets fans are not the ones that are working on Wall Street. I've said all of those things. So I've got to leave it at that." Before a Dolphins-Jets game at Miami in December, 2005: "[Jets fans] don't have a whole lot else going for them, and they rely on the Jets beating the Dolphins. I wouldn't want to live in New York in November or December either, so they come down here and fill up our stadium. They sit there and yell their [J-E-T-S] chant. That's the only word they know how to spell." Prior to a Dolphins-Jets game in 2004: "A bunch of them chanting their dumb-*** chant and all that other stuff, being the ignorant fans they are. I said it. I don't care if they get mad at me or not. They don't like me anyway. Quite frankly, I don't care. ... I'm just being real. I'm telling the truth. You carry yourself with some class, and we'll talk about you as if you've got class. If you want to act crazy and do all the crazy things they do, I'll call a spade a spade. ... Oakland is the same way, but I love playing there. But against [the Jets], it kind of gets on your nerves."
Man i dont even want to think about this even being a possibility... Ireland, Parcells make this work we need this guy. This organization needs this guy, hes the heart and soul of this team, the man bleeds aqua and orange, he played for pennies considering what he could of made last year and now we are putting him in a tough spot. Get this dam deal done.
anyone ever consider that maybe parcells and ireland dont want JT back because they know he is not a difference maker anymore
they have a plan, I wouldnt blame the FO, and this year is loaded with DE/OLB bad boys...I think they would have brought JT back after the draft, for around the same money, maybe 2 million.....and he signed in May last year, so whats the rush, at this point he is a rotation pass rusher....not an every down one....
2nd in sacks on the team begs to differ. 7 sacks in a new system is above average imo and if Porter wasnt suck a whiney ***** and played some team ball it might of been better.
I might puke green if this happens. I'd rather him sign with the Patriots! Hopefully this is just for some Dolphins leverage.
Even this POS is getting his word in.... Fireman Ed Fires Back at Jason Taylor The New York Jets are rumored to be interested in Jason Taylor who has been a thorn in Jets fans' sides for years. He went so far as to the Jets fans "ignorant" during one of his anti-Jets rants. Well, No. 1 Jets fan Fireman Ed Anzalone fired right back at the former Dolphin. "He's such a meat-head," Anzalne told the New York Daily News, "Let's be real. This guy hates the Jets. He hates Jets fans more than anything. Put it this way: For him to even try to come here, it has to be two things: Nobody is bothering with him or he wants to win a championship. He wants to hop on board." According to Anzalone, he was the subject of a Taylor tirade a few years ago. He has also been mentioned personally in a few of Taylor's insults towards the Jets and their fans. "That idiot came running over, looking for me, cursing, saying he wants to kick my (butt)," Anzalone said. "I looked at him and said, 'You see all these kids around here?' He was acting like a lunatic, acting like a (expletive). Just stupid." http://espn.go.com/blog/sportscenter/post/_/id/42625/fireman-ed-fires-back-at-jason-taylor
Jump on what?? the flash in the pan that is the New Jersey Jets....I'm so f**cking fired up right now, I wanna go bust some of those little *****es in their mouths...I am taking a break from here to go sign up on that rag forum they have and starting so much sheet on there, I plan on getting banned within the hour...
I cant understand how people cant see what is going on here he is cheesed off because of lack of attention from the dolphins so he is visiting our biggest rival to stir up the stuff and force his hand
a couple of weeks before the draft though, very selfish....like now is the time they lock themselves into a hole and dont come out...
The problem with JT now is that we just don't know how much longer his body will hold up and his skillset will hold up. There was no doubt whatsoever that the JT we saw last season was not the DPOY or even a facsimile thereof. So what we do know about JT is that we will NOT get a guy who was better than last year's JT. Do we really want that ?? I don't think so. We all have aqua colored glasses with guys like JT, no doubt. But I can't see us adding him and hoping that he's more than a stop-gap OLB. Besides, playing where we'd probably use him is out of position anyway. I say draft a couple or even three LBers and go from there. I do agree that we might not have the answer on the roster. QMoses and Anderson on the strong side don't exactly give you a warm fuzzy feeling, just as Wake as our main weakside guy doesn't either. But....I just don't know for sure that JT is our answer...
If he wants to go to the Jets let him...this just seems like typical JT...not getting enough attention so he does something to stir up some controversy and get the fans and the players pissed off at the FO and coaches. It looks like quite a few on here are falling for it so i'm sure many of the players will as well. I'm really losing any respect I have for him, talk about a distraction. JT to the Jets is a joke if he was going anyplace the Jets would be the last place he would go he clearly has an agenda.
That being said EVERY single FA in the NFL that goes from one team to the next is a me guy... What is he trying to take out on the Dolphins.. Sorry bro.. Youre wicked reaching here
