O.K. I gotta say the C at 11 is simply just too far off the reservation for me. It's almost as if there are no other centers available in the draft or that the Broncos don't have anymore picks.

    Damn. Just sayin.

If the guy is right, then thats one hell of prediction to make. I'll have to bow down to his knowledge of the team. I just will.

Bruce Campbell at 8 to the Raiders. Very interesting. The guys over at Walterfootball have been shoving this idea out there prior to the draft, and it would definitely throw a big wrench in the early round!

Eric Berry I dont think is a big option for the Chiefs as some say. Pioli has made many comments about not taking safeties early, and obviously he values position, evidenced by taking Jackson so early last year. Ro McClain to JVille, and the guys remark about defensive ends indicates they may still be leaning toward defense early. Would be interesting to see the draft shake out this way.

Agreed. That was my first thought too. People are sleeping hard on Matt Tennant of BC. I've watched him twice this year and again in the Senior Bowl practices/game (thanks again) and he is very good IMO.

Lombardi predicted that during the combine. He knows Davis pretty well. I've had Campbell to the Raiders in my mock sine then.

IIRC, Lombardi's been wrong pretty often about Davis and the direction they go in. I know all of the Raider fans feel the same way.

I do remember that he called Haywood-Bey last year very early.

I think many people called Heyward-Bey early, honestly. Everyone knew he was the fastest.

The sad thing is that Louis Murphy is the best receiver that they drafted last year. Or maybe that's a good thing, depends on how you look at it.

Haha, yeah. Murphy is talented though. He ran some nice routes at UF.

By early, I meant first. And Lombardi was a Raider's exec until May 2007 so the only other first round pick he could have been wrong on was 2008. I don't know who he picked or even if he was working on TV at the time. At worst he's 50/50.

I think Raider fans don't like him b/c they blame him for bad picks while he was with the Raiders. Living out West, I hear that from those Raider fans who tend to defend Davis.

    **** me.

I thought maybe the Jags, Bills or 49ers at 17. But Oakland? **** me he likes quarterbacks more than Jon Gruden.

Most think that I'm a Gators fan because I live down here and I like Harvin and a few others- I'm not. But I do get to see quite a bit of Gators football due to the proximity and fan base/demand for it down here. Murphy dropped more passes than he should have in college, but Pat Turner over Murphy? Hyell no. Almost perfect size, fast as hell, and dude has explosion, suddenness. The ironic thing, iirc, is that the Raiders took him with the flopped 4th rd pick that they got from us in the Satele deal. Murphy is for real imo.

Well, you know Kiper, he pawned Dan Williams onto us, last yr he was determined to pawn Darius Haywerd Bust..err..Bay on us.

TBH though Conu, he sounded like he did not believe it, he is sort of stuck with Clausen as a top 10 pick, he went so far as to say Mortensen had told him that the Raiders would have money to draft Clausen AND pay Jemarcus Russel to learn how to play Left Tackle..

Okay, I made the left tackle stuff up, but he did mention Mort said the Raiders could swing two top 10 Qb salaries.

The one interesting nugget was the fact that in Las Vegas, there is a betting line on who has the more accurate Mock Draft..Kiper..or McShay..

Hmm...which Guru has the most accurate mock draft..a pool..sounds interesting..:shifty:

Not just first round picks, reporting news.

You could be right about Oakland fans disliking him.

I could see the news thing. His parting with the team was somewhat acrimonious. But his prediction on whom the Raiders would pick was based on knowing how Davis thinks. Having worked with Davis for several years, I would think he has pretty good insight.

Most ratings I've seen say the centers fall off the map after Pouncey. I've seen him projected to Pitt at 18 a few times. Not that far from 11. Last year we had 2 centers in the first round for the first time in many a year. 3 in the top 50 for the first time in many years. Teams needing one had good options. This year it is Pouncey or nothing as for centers ranked top 50.

The Raiders took Slade Norris with the pick they got from us. They took Murphy 2 slots earlier with a pick they got from NE.
