Well *gosh* after resigning Pennington and using a #2 pick on White, why would Tyler Thigpen be on the trade block...wonder...wonder..

It makes sense, we have P White, and we made a serious investment in him, Pennington is a proven veteran who it would not surprise if he wins the Starting Qb job, there is no place for Thiggy on the roster.

To me, Roscoe Parrish would solve some problems, and the Texans need a backup Qb...

Trading Thigpen is almost as big a mistake as keeping Pat White.

I'm sure the Steelers would love to have Thigpen. Especially after witnessing what he could do.

I wouldnt care if he was the number one pick in the draft, it'd be a mistake to trade Thigpen to make room for Pat White on the roster.

Cut Pat White and keep Tyler Thigpen around at least until training camp, when you have a clearer idea of Penny's health.

Vontae, Smith, Y Bell, other than that...every players head is in the noose.

And FWIW, Cam Wake really should be on the trade block to a 4-3 team that needs a passrusing DE..

Sorry to cut in. But I'd watch the Steelers game . Who knows how Pennington's shoulder will progress, and outside of him TT is the only QB on the roster. I hated the PW pick but I gave it a chance and I think that unless he becomes the focus of the offense (not happening), in practice and in games, he wont amount to much. If you MUST keep White, trade Penne (2yrs left max) not Thigpen, who'll be a decent backup for many years to come.

We better at least get a 5th round pick back otherwise that in season trade would be a loss.

I believe it was mentioned a few times last year that every player on the team is open to a trade. This doesn't mean we will give anyone away but if the right offer came in no one is safe.

If they traded Thigpen and kept Pat White as a QB, I would seriously be scratching my head. I would scratch it down to the skull.

Thigpen has proven he can play in the league. He should be kept unless he garners no less than a 5th.

Admit that White was a big mistake, and keep Thigpen as Henne's backup, at least. White sure as all get out cant' do that!

Padre, seriously ... what do you think White is going to develop into ... a real QB ?? I think we'd have a better shot with Mike Vick ...

White was very much a waste of a pick .... he is a bad example this regime's falling in love with a player

if we must trade a QB ... it should be Pennington -- albeit, i understand why the regime would like to have CP in the fold .... as as i have stated -- the want to win NOW .... not wait another 1-2 years.

we have solid players and good depth except at our obvious positions of need -- which will be addressed soon enough.

So, with Penny back in fold, now you have to either trade Thigpen or cut White? Well, if those are my two choices, I say cut White and don't look back. Thiggy showed me more in a quarter than Pat White did all season.

    JMHO...

Disagree, White has to high an investment into his presence, Thiggy cost a 5th rd pick, and threw 2 picks in a Qtr, White was at least effective as the WC Qb.

Pads I respectively disagree. In order for you to be any sort of effective QB you have to at least be able to complete a pass. Forget the investment and keep the better player.

i dont remember White taking the direct snap in the wildcat
he was in there quite a bit running the spread and was really only effective on one or two plays
big investment or not that experiment failed
ask yourself if henne goes down would you rather have pat white in the game or tyler thigpen
we still dont really know about pennys arm
without thigpen we really dont have a worthy #2 QB imo

White has the upcoming OTAs to prove his worth .... without some serious growth, he just needs to go away .... Thigpen has more value both now and in the future !

I don't know Paddy. Henne cost us a 2nd, and threw 3 picks in about 2.5 minutes.

When was he useful?Pat white was by far the trifecta worst pick.If we can't get at least a second rounder for thigpen we keep him and cut our losses with white.
Thigpen can do everything pat white can do only better.Hell charlie whitehurst was traded to the seahawks for a 2011 third rounder and they are swapping 2nd round picks this year with the chargers. His career qb rating 0.

Try and get a 5th for White and cut your losses. Is it a waste of a 2nd round pick? Yep, but the team is BETTER with Pigpen, Pennington, and Henne. Not as good with Henne, Penny, and White.

Why do you suppose they signed Pennington?

Folks have this huge blindspot wherein they forget that Pennington is a Sparano Qb, low turnovers, high percentage, and yet people still buy into the meme that Penny is here to rehab..

I would much rather have CP10 as out back up. Thigpen lost us that game against the Steelers...and the Phins need all the draft picks they can get

Pennington is pretty much spent....... and it's proven that he's not now nor has he ever been good enough to lead a team to the promised land. He would have been eaten alive by last year's schedule and prior to injury that's exactly what was happening.

If Pennington "wins" the job.........Ross should fire everybody in sight.

See, that is what devalues your opinion Bro, Penny never had much of a fastball to begin with, he just won games, one will not even consider that notion which means your bias over rules your pov.

Our defense played lights out in that 4th qtr and he let them down.
