    Here is the full story....

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/

"Marshall is scheduled to fly to Miami to take his physical and, if he passes, sign what will be one of the most lucrative wide receiver deals in NFL history, according to league sources. In return, the Broncos will get two high draft picks for a player who caused them headaches in addition to making plays."

This guy cost us a fortune, two high picks and a three bottles of aspirin......he had better play like hell!

nice! it's nice to even out that low feeling from Monday morning when I woke up and found out the Jests had gotten Holmes for a 5th.

....as for the trading down theories...no doubt they'd love it, but you need to find someone who wants to trade up, easy said than done.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, Mcfadden is NOT a running back. The guy can't run in the trenches and goes down too quickly after 1st contact. It would be a lateral to trade Ginn for Mcfadden (Ginn is just as explosive in the open field as Mcfadden. Some would say even more so), and a loss if we gave up a 4th round pick on top of it. Certainly not an answer to our running game; present or future. Pray that this doesn't happen.

    Santonio Who?

    Seriously, huge news.

And for everyone freaking out over the second, I really doubt we hold onto the #12 for very long in the draft before someone asks to jump up and get that gem they were looking for. I really hope Spiller is around at the 12 spot, I could see someone making a strong move for him.

    Excellent!

Perhaps this is proof the Dolphins thought Dez Bryant would be off the board before the 12th pick.
I'm glad they valued Marshall that highly, and they had to of seriously considered his personal maturity as going in the right direction.

i like it! im sure Henne loves it also. We now have our number 1 ladies and gents. maybe now we trade back a few picks and pick up Thomas and a 2nd rounder? either way 2 holes will now be filled after we pick from round one. This also makes our whole offense that much better. instead of the D wondering where Brown is lined up every play, they will be looking towards the sidelines to look for Marshall!

With the rumors of us trying to trade Thigpen/Smiley/Ginn/etc. for picks, trading a 2 this year and next doesn't seem to bother me too much. with that said, we need to hit on our picks this year! no pat whites/ pat turners please.

with this, it pretty much eliminates the chances of us trading up for Berry. Our 12th pick is looking like Thomas/Graham or trade down. Every passing day brings a little more incite on who is on our big board.

    Now to the OTHER questions:
Would this have happened if Santonio did not? Probably not.
Can he keep his a good head on his shoulders while in Miami? $%*@#

take another look @ the guy:http://www.darrenmcfadden.org/
    the Raiders have destroyed
every great pick they've made in recent history
Al Davis is impatient & has a pension for change.
he also has no offensive line to block for a RB
McFadden is one of the best pure running backs of the decade

This is a steal for us. How much longer were we going to screw around and not have a playmaker? He is a top 5 WR in this league. He makes Henne better, he makes Hartline better, he probably even makes Ginn better. Now, when we go to 4 WR sets, the other 3 WRs are a little bit more open. Hartline will benefit the most. He will become our Wes Welker. I am willing to bet, if BH stays healthy, he catches 80 passes.

Our WR position just went from a major weakness to a major strength. The Jets better be happy they have Revis and Cromartie...they are going to need them...plus some other guys helping out.

This was the kind of bold move we haven't seen from this team in....forever?

No doubt. And don't forget, we hired probably the best DC in the league. To get Dansby, Marshall, Incognito, and Mike Nolan...this was an outstaning offseason.

Lets not forget too, that this buys us some time in developing Pat Turner. If he pans out and can make plays, we can either line him up or trade him to get some picks down the road.

I don't think the Broncos made it a secret that they were taking Bryant at 11 if he was there. BM was going to the highest bidder and the Phins knew they had to trump the Seahawks.

In any case, I think this is a great move. BM is going to get the contract he wants (the reason he has been acting out in Denver) and that should cure most the locker-room angst. For a player of his caliber and age, two seconds is appropriate compensation. If he didn't have issues, you would need to throw Roy Williams compensation to get him. Let's not forget, we have a very young WR corps. Suiting BM up with them just made them a young, top-flight corps as Bess and Hartline can now excel at their appropriate roles. This also makes our running game even more dangerous as defenses will have to respect BM (especially since Ronnie has proven he is a capable wild-cat passer).

All in all, this is a great day. AAAAlllllllllllllllllllllrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt Miami!

You KIND OF did. You insinuated that WE would be trading players AWAY...not gaining anyone.

Me thinks that you have a bit of a spin and revisionist history of your original post.

We now have a top 5 receiving unit. This is great! Marshall, Hartline and Bess in the slot. Is it September yet???

And we'll get that 2nd round pick back next year some how.

Fair. However, you would be gambling on two things...one, he can play in the NFL....we don't know if he can or not. Or how well he can play.

Two, if he will be in camp on time. Eugene Parker is his agent. Michael Crabtree's agent.

IMO, this was a great deal for Miami. It gives us a TOP FIVE WR in the NFL. I don't know what more you guys could want.

I would say....Fitzgerald, A.Johnson, the poor guy from Detroit...other than that, there isn't a WR in the league better than BM.

Dez would not be there...not yet.

I'm thrilled. Seriously, what a gigantic acquisition. For those of you who are concerned about the price, I'm not sure you understand just how good of a WR Brandon Marshall is. The man is an ELITE talent.

Though, I never in a million years thought Ireland would sign off on trading multiple 2nd rounders and a huge contract in exchange for Marshall.

Also, kudos to the FO for recognizing the position as a weakness and addressing the situation appropriately.

Now go out and fix our defense.

It's already crossed my mind. It's like when you buy a nice new car and think, "what if I wrecked the **** out of this on the way home?"

Then, a few seconds after, you think to yourself "Why would I think that?! That's a horrible thought!" Then you get over it.

From a relative talent standpoint, looks like we signed (not "resigned") 2 of the top 3 available FAs this season! WTG FO - makes the Holmes sideline-sitting very understandable in retrospect!
