    Concerning the schedule

In the first 4 weeks of the season and the last 4 weeks of the season, we play our division games. I love it. But when the Jets and Pats come to Miami in September and October, respectively, both games are at night. Effectively eliminating the hot weather being a factor.

Atleast Stephen Ross got what he wished for.

EDIT: Not to mention that we have to play the Jets and Patriots at their stadiums in December.

I think you mean the the FO hasnt been a factor in 37 years. Cant win a superbowl if you dont have the talent to do so.

You cannot deny that weather is a factor in football games.

New stadium + LT (schedule was made before JT so that didn't matter). Giants have 4 prime time games. So, NY market has 9 primetime games this year, 4 in the new stadium.

They're the most marketable team right now. It's not much of a head scratcher.

yes i can. it isnt. we had plenty of good teams in the 90s and early 00's......the weather means nothing. alot of players on nfl teams are from florida and texas anyways....not like its harder to play the game these days......they have water, gatoraid, IVs, little hoses that blow cold air into shoulder pads.....its not as much as a advantage as everyone makes it to be

Players admit themselves that they hate playing in hot weather.

Also, you dont think that there is an advantage to the Jets, Bill, or Pats when we travel to their stadiums and its snowing?

yes. because its snowing, the balls hard, it hurts to be hit, muscles tighten up, its hard to breath.

    big difference.

And in snow... footing is terrible. Especially for defensive players in coverage. Big benefits to receivers, they know when and where they're going to cut and break. Its tougher for the defenders to have to read, react, and adjust their position and footing on a slippery surface.

I can see the OP's point though, in heat, and humidity, it does wear down teams that may not be as used to it as we are. Sure alot of players have grown up playing in it, but alot havent as well. If you arent used to it, it can have some advantage. Not sure how big of an advantage, but I think there is a bit of one anyways.

We can not let JT and the Jets spoil our home opener on Sunday Night Football. Especially without Holmes on their side.

If Miami can go .500 Weeks 1-10, they are golden!!!!, Weeks 11-17 are soft as all hell, look at that....1-10 is a meat grinder though...

i was just watching nfl network and it sounded like they thought the jets schedule was pretty hard in the begging and said that when you sacrafice character for talent it can cause problems. So they were sayin if that team starts out on a losing streak, players can become restless and their can be problems in the locker room

That would be awfully sweet to see happen, but I dont see Ryan as a coach who would let that happen. All accounts from players and media from that lockerroom are that the coaches are loved there bigtime. Anything can happen when you start loosing, but I just dont see Ryan letting that happen.

However, id LOVE to beat the hell out of them in our home opener at night!

I'm used to media hype of NY teams here in NY. It happens every year. These teams throw money at players who dont mesh. Mets, Rangers, Knicks, Jets and even the Yankees up until 2009 they choked in the first roung of the playoffs for a bunch of years, and didnt even make it in 08. We saw it when the Jets signed Favre, then we saw it last year when they started the season hot and Sanchez was the new Peyton Manning apparently. Hopefully giving the Jets 5 primetime games will feed their strong egos some more.

I kind of like our schedule, lots of cold weather games this season though. Starting with Lambeau, which may or may not be cold in the end of october. Probably will. The 2008 team was able to handle it, so lets hope they can this year.

Oh and just realized it's been 25 years since the famous 1985 Bears/Dolphins MNF game. I'm sure they'll push that when the Bears visit on Thursday night. Too bad thursday night football kinda sucks. That would have been nice for monday night.

yeah but some of those teams just arent gonna be as good as they were. I look at Cincy, Pittsburgh, Buffalo as 3 pretty winnable games. Minny, NYj, NE and Tennessee are all games this team can win, so its up to them to get the job done.

Itd be really something if we got to week 10 with an ABOVE .500 record...

Honestly, the offseason hype with the moves they've made is definitely deserving of the 5 prime time games.

Boss Ross: You know, Mr. Schedule Man, I'm not fond of 1 o'clock home games early. Say, would you like one of these portable video whatchamacallits?

League: Shiny! How about prime time?

    Ross: That'll do fine.

Jets season ends on a more than likely easy note the Bears then the Bills. Hopefully we have a better record by the last two games.

Easy now, last year we thought we'd have two guaranteed wins over them too. Looked what happened then. I know they look awful right now on paper, but its the NFL. Anything can happen on any given sunday!

The first half of our schedule is brutal. Absolutely brutal. First we open with a division game on the road in Buffalo which is always a tough game. Then we play the Vikings, Jets, Pats, Packers, Steelers, Bengals and Ravens in a row. That's 6 playoff teams and the Steelers who are good enough to be a playoff team. That is TOUGH. It's going to be extremely important to start of strong.

We can head into the bye at 3-1 or 2-2.

We can hang with any team, last season proved this.

thats the one that is a kicker, and its I think more of an advantage when we play West Coast teams during Sept and Oct than the northern teams. If its 85 and humid in early Dec and you got the Chargers here, they will wilt...and we should win

I don't think the snow gives an advantage. It's not like the Pats, Bills, and Jets go outside and practice in snowstorms to get a feel for it. They all practice in indoor facilities during the winter. So, the footing, etc, is a problem for both teams.
