    To Quote ZT:

"I played against New England twice a year every year my whole career. I learned to not like that team. I wasn’t going to join them."

That is a real man, he would rather retire then go play for an arch rival. All that BS the JT spewed through out the year about hating the Jets and their fans was nothing BUT BS.

    Memo to JT:

    Stop whining.

We don't need another bash thread. Jason Taylor made a smart business decision after giving the Dolphins AMPLE time to decide his fate here. We passed on him.

Now I'm sure everyone here has an MBA at Harvard and agrees that the smart thing for Jason to do was to pass on a guaranteed 3.5 Million dollars and wait on the team that has ignored him all offseason and made no effort to make him feel valued.. Yup, he sure deserves to be crucified for not showing the loyalty to the Dolphins after they rejected him harshly.

And the 3.5 million? Who needs it, it's only money. I'm sure you would have sat on your hands, waiting for Godot to make a move.

You should be angry with the Dolphins, not JT. He gave our front office more than enough time to sign him up for life, he even played for well below market value last year.
I'm really p*ssed off at our front office right now, if I was in JT's shoes I'd have done the exact same thing. It's pretty obvious our front office didn't
want him and JT signing for the Jets takes the pressure of them as most fans will be angry with JT rather than the real culprits, our front office.

I'm not going to say I'm pissed at him, but seriously the kind of character he has always presented, and after he willingly accepted bottom dollar to come to the Phins last year, I'm seriously disappointed in him.

I understand the dollars and cents, but if it was about that I'd be pretty surprised. I mean I seriously don't think JT really needs a whole lot more cash, unless he's been an idiot with it. And that would rather surprise me by his character up until this point.

Well it says A LOT about his character if he made this move for reasons outside of financial ones..

I'm a competitive SOB in the workplace and if I was in his shoes, the ONLY team I would want to play for would be the Jets. He got REJECTED, essentially fired from the Dolphins.. What better way to repay them than to prove them wrong on the field? That is what real men do.

Do I think he will make break the Jets season? Hell no. But I can understand why he would bolt, and how important it is in life to prove your doubters wrong.

Why dont you ppl get over your selves. JT did everything he could to stay with Fins. The Jets did everything they could to get him. JT still wants to play and loves the game. I will always love JT and what he gave to us.

However, he could have waited until after the draft like last year...and the Jets would have still taken him post draft had he chosen that route.

How can't you? Its an employment opportunity. Where you show up, work/play/practice, get paid. ITS A JOB.

I work in direct competition with another firm, that sells a similar product to me. If my company kicked me to the curb, you're damn right if those who were once my competition offered to pay me to do the same thing, I'd be all over it.

I dont think I know anyone who wouldn't do that.

Bottom line is the Jets wanted him and went out of their way to get him. The Dolphins didn't want him, but wanted him to wait around to see if they found what they wanted and needed in the draft. I hate he went to the Jets but he still wants to play football and I just don't think the Dolphins would have given him the chance.
I wont see him as Jason Taylor the Jet. I'll remember him as Jason Taylor the Dolphin who, along with Zac Thomas was the face of the Dolphins in their darkest days.

Except for he was on the radio earlier this evening admitting that he probably would have also went to the Jets if they would have called while he was cleaning out his locker.

    Fail.

technically not true. the FO for what ever reason told him they would make a decision after the draft. He could not wait a few more days for what ever reason and chose to sign a deal that I'm sure is much greater than what we were prepared to offer.

Yeah Thomas also ripped the Dolphins. They treated JT like ****, cancelling a meeting, not calling him or anything, asking him to wait until after the draft when the Jets could have withdrawn their offer. The Jets FO showed our own legend more respect than our own FO did.

Watch JT sack Henne for a forced fumble or something to help the Jets win. I may actually laugh if it happens. This secrecy is annoying. And we won 7 games last season, the D was horrible and they took JT out on 3rd downs. Apparently we have a bunch of pro bowlers waiting in the wings now. Apparently they think our D is good enough without him. If the Dolphins don't make the playoffs this FO is just another Wannstedt like failure. Wannstedt won a division title too, I don't care about 2008 when 2010 is approaching. We should be improved, if not then Parcells really is a has-been.

We can argue back and forth as to whether it was a smart move or not, but unless we're all girls, they didn't really hurt anyone.

I thought we could use the depth, but I doubt Jason Taylor would want to be depth. This move (or lack of a move) might say that we're hoping to start Wake and a rookie (possibly Derrick Morgan) at OLB.

I always saw JT was a 5 star player...then he kind of burnt me when he demanded that trade (didn't care about dancing at all honestly). Which he got...I was glad to see him come back, but never really "forgave" (if that word even really applies) him...he got knocked down a bit in my eyes. I love the guy as a player, loved him as a guy...but that knocked him down a few notches in my book. He wasn't run out of town, he wasn't low balled...he just decided he wanted out. I'm ok with that, whatever, no hard feelings...but quite honestly that was the end of my vision of JT bleeding Aqua and Orange.

When this was announced today I thought of 2 things...

    1. How despite getting offers from other teams to play QB and being treated like **** from the Wanny staff...Dan held his head high and walked out a dolphin..immortal in my eyes.

    2. When Zach was treated like crap he didn't whine and moan....he got cut, and quietly went his own way. Despite a lucrative offer from the Pats he went with the "underdog" Cowboys rather than play for a divisional rival.

When the news was announced today that JT was a Jet it didn't really change anything for me....JT's time here arguably exceeded ZT's, and will go down as one of the best tenures in Miami Football history.....but he won't go down in my book as a diehard dolphin like ZT and Dan...i felt that after his fight to get traded and today just cemented that. He'll go down as a great player.....but not the face of this franchise. He was a beast...but that ended quite some time ago. I thank him for everything he gave us, he was a blast to watch.

It's gonna be difficult to watch JT on that ugly jets uniform. good luck to him, he did provided me with awesome memories and will forever be a Dolphin.

I also believe in the JT curse, we went 10-6 & made the playoffs when he signed with the redskins who ended w/ 8-8 record. He comes back and we ended with a 7-9 record and missed the playoffs. If my theory proves right we are destine for a very good season. Sweeping the Jets will be awesome, sorry JT you signed with them dude. Lets sink Revis Island while we are at it.

could not have said it better myself. Hope JT enjoys his time with the Jets. If I owned the Fins, JT would never set foot on Dolphin property again. JT is going to retire and he is going to want to come home... Guess what JT, by the time you come back the locks are going to have been changed.

...the draft also could have changed the Jest offer....have to consider that too. I don't blame him for not waiting. People act like 3.5 million isn't a lot of money. Sure JT has money but he's not Bill Gates, 3.5 million is not lunch money to JT its a ton of money to just leave on the table and hope the Fins or another team needs him after the draft. I don't blame him. People have to realize that these guys are humans that think about things like retirement, family, etc just like the rest of us do.

This does nothing but prove that the Dolphins have shown no respect for their franchise players towards the end of their careers. I think this is just another example of how shallow our organization is when it comes down to it. They have no class in my book....kinda makes me wonder why I still love the Fins so much. Everything I grew up knowing has been pissed on and thrown in the dump!
