It is a fact that JT signed with the jets solely to get back at Parcells? It is a fact that JT is "still hurting"? C'mon, don't be a complete hater.

November when he was still playing. They did not want his agent to be part of the negotiations and JT refused. His agent is not liked by quite a few people, players included. He is actually being sued by some former players.

Screw him, and the horse he rides out on but saying he is washed up shows to me you might want to go watch some more tape or buy a clue somewhere.

By all means bash him all you like but you don't know what you're talking about. He will have a pretty good season doing what he does best and thats get to the passer....

Can someone superimpose JT onto that gif of Lou Polite blocking the hell out of Bart Scott? I'm going to love seeing that. What would be amazing is a season ending injury. Not only could he not play for the Jets, but then the FO would have made the right call, Rex Ryan would have lost his only FA slot AND he'd have to come back to Bill Parcells to beg for a one day contract to retire a Phin. If he didn't ask for one then we'd know what kind of a whore he is.

Rooting against JT is fine but wishing injury upon him is just wrong.

Why? Because first and foremost I think this is a big of a shot at the phins from Rex & company. With no cap, why not offer him a chunk of cash? You know it was going to take that much for JT to leave.

As pissed as I am about this... we have no one to blame but our front office. If we wanted him, we should have offered him a deal. It really sucks he left for the Jets, and the fans are sure going to let him know that, but I woudlnt exactly say this is all JT's fault. This is a business afterall, you've got to go where theyre going to pay you. If the Jets are the only team offering, well then it is what it is.

Still pretty pissed about this whole thing though. Really wish this wasnt happening.

So...whose going to play DE for us? Another hole we need filled in the draft. They are so lucky they signed Marshall.

Get off it. We are all such moral people so Slowmotion must be a demon. If you're gonna say that, show me your membership card in the Mother Theresa Hall of Fame. I swear this happens every year. Packers fans wished Favre got injuries in NY and Minnesota. I'm sure some 49er fans wished ill of Joe Montana when he left. What I'm saying is get off your damn high horse. If you read my comment you'll notice I never wished for an injury. I don't want him to get injured. I'm saying if that scenario played out I wouldn't lose any sleep. I'm sick and tired of people: 1. Reading into comments on a message board. 2. Getting on a moral high on a message board. If you find yourself about to reply to me at any point, don't. Thanks, Ok, Bye.

Jason Taylor, as he will henceforth be called, played OLB and he was at the line on blitzing downs.

    Pot, meet kettle.

Just because other fans, on other teams have wished injury upon a player that has left the team doesn't make it right. Afterall, as much as anyone dislike JT's decision to sign with the Jets, he's still a human being, with a family, wife, kids. How would you feel coming on here if JT was your son, or father, or brother, reading stupid posts about people wishing harm to someone. It works both ways man.

I'm not happy that he's a Jet either, but, its the NFL, its a business. Its every team, every player, every GM, every owner for themselves out there. It is what it is. Its the nature of the game.

That being said, id also say that...

Would indeed be considering wishing injury upon someone. I see where you're going with JT having to come crawling back to us though, it would indeed be an ironic situation. However, I just don't see either ZT, or JT getting a 1 day contract to retire as phins. Not from this FO anyways.

Anyways, enough of that... He's gone, end of story.

Well, all I can say is I'm very disappointed. I had hoped he was simply trying to leverage a better deal with Miami. I never in a million years thought he'd actually go through with signing with the Jests. I gave him more credit than that. Oh well, time to move on. He's now the enemy as far as I am concerned.

Usually when someone says pot meet kettle, they introduce an instance of hypocrisy. Where is my moral high horse, I'd love to see it. I'm not saying wishing injury is right. I'm saying to pretend like it's the worst thing in the world or i am this solitary anathema is stupid. If JT was my son I'd say: "You bum what the hell are you doing?" If my emotions can become predicated on some anonymous internet commenter then I need help dealing with my emotions. I can't believe how soft we've gotten. Someone on the internet can hurt a grown *** man's feelings? Then you say it works both ways like I'm the kind of person to truly get hurt in anonymity. I played Football and I've only ever caught myself thinking about or wishing for injuries when the sheer irony of the situation makes me wonder how my scenario would play out. I'm sure many including you have done this. Again, I do not wish Mr. Taylor gets injured, I am running through a situation rife with irony for the thought and amusement of my peers. If a few people want to get their panties/boxers/preferred choice of underwear in a bunch meet my friend freedom of speech and his companion chill out.

let him go....he's on the down turn in his career, almost the end.

The focus of this regime is to build a quality franchise of young players who will be around for years to come. JT has 1 maybe 2 years left.....time to move forward.

I don't see how we can fault Sparano and Co for trying to improve his position. JT just didn't want to wait. Kudos to them for wanting to make the best move for the "TEAM"

We are trying to win the superbowl for goodness sake:up:

I say draft CJ because Ricky might be on his last legs here, and Ronnie's future is as unsure as anyone's under this regime. It could be said that young talent must be found for the RB position as well. That said, there are gaping holes on defense that simply can't go unattended.

Not discounting Hilliard's or Sheets prospects, but I can't help but compare CJ to a Chris Johnson...

This on topic off topic stuff kills me

If in the course of these threads we come across a comment or statement we are not allowed to discuss it? seems ridiculous....it is part of the conversation

we need to draft the best player available that makes this team better......probably needs to be a linebacker or safty

You were talkin about people going and reading too much into posts, and then going on about morals, or something that they believe isnt right, for example wishing injury upon someone, then you go into a rant about people questioning you and your morals? I'd say there's a but of hypocrisy there. But I'm not trying to start a brawl here  So, moving on..

Its not a matter of people getting "soft". Its a matter of whats right and what's wrong. Wishing injury upon someone else, is... just that. Wrong. Especially when its simply because he changed football teams.

Again, like I said, I see what you meant by the irony of the situation you were presenting, but I can also see why some others may get a bit bent out of shape for you saying you wish he'd suffer a career ending injury. Again, I understand where you're going with the ironic situation you presented, and I see what you mean, but I can also see why others may get bent out of shape about it.

I know what you're saying, but freedom of speech works both ways too.

Anyways, I'm not trying to argue with you, just presenting the other side of the coin as well. Like I said, he's gone, our schedule is out, now lets concentrate on beating up on the Jets twice again this year!

i talked about his age and how we needed to get a relentless disruptive OLB to replace him. I was ready to move on and not bring taylor back. you guys read into it what you wanted. I never once said he wouldn't return because i hated him. That is not truthful. I never said that.

I am not suggesting that JT did know our draft board (because he wouldn't) I am surmising that because he is an OLB that is leaving one must be coming in the draft.

All JT knew was that he wouldn't be given an answer until after the draft. If you add these up you get that we're probably drafting an OLB super star and he'd be out of work in Miami or paid far less.

As far as going to the JETS goes; who else wanted him at any price? Fat boy up in NY is tossing money around on washed up players like he's the 1970's Raiders or something wasting money on NFL player memorabilia. Both JT and Ryan are huge ego'd jokes.

He was offered an extension during 2009, so enough with the "he was disrespected" stuff, he declined, he has a job elsewhere.

I'm reading the twitter feed of his presser and Taylor sounds like a dude who just want to play football, I cannot blame him for it, I do think fans are kinda overly emotional at the moment and are lashing out.

    It'll be alright..

I agree. He's been an icon around here for quite a few years and it's sad to see him go.
However the bottom line is putting a team together to win football games. Honestly, it isn't going to be too awfully hard to replace his production from last year...7 sacks overall...1.5 in the last ten games.... 3 of the 7 total came against the Bills and the .5 in the later part of the season was in the 2nd game with Buffalo. I'm thinking if we're looking at JT as just a pass rusher then Wake ought to be able to fill in quite nicely. After all he had 5.5 sacks himself.

Screw him, he is a JET now and I hope the few that claim he is a shell of his former self proves true.

His words, you wanted me in November, why not now. They offered to negotiate a new two year deal with him in November but he declined!!!!

The front office is not at all at fault here. JT is now a JET and he is now the enemy to me because I HATE THE JETS worse than any team in the NFL...

I personally hope he has a great year, JT has plenty left in him and he will show it this year. I hate the Jest as much as anyone, but the Fins were just dragging their feet on the whole deal. They should have offered him a bigger contract to begin with. Being that we are thin at this position, yet still wouldn't sign him back shows just about how much the FO wanted him back. If I were JT I would have done the same thing. The blame is on the Fins, they had more than enough time to give him a reason to wait, but instead they cancel their meeting with him and basically tell him to f**k off.

So.......that's what he did. I for one hope he gets his shots in on Henne and makes them good. Just as long as Henne doesn't get hurt and we still win of course. I just feel like he deserves some redemption. JT will always be a Dolphin in my book

Listen to his interview with Big Dog: http://wqam.com/index.php?page=347

He sounds sick to his stomach. I for one think this is a huge mistake by the FO. If for no other reason he should have been signed for his veteran leadership on this team. I also feel, like times in the past, he is just one of the many former Dolphin players that will come back to haunt us twice a year.

If you listen to the interview, he was asked why he did not sign last November, his response was "the time just wasn't right", now he is a Jet, his job is to win ballgames even against the Dolphins.

I don't think he has a good year up there AT ALL. He might have been productive here because he's a crowd favorite, and a hometown hero.

But he's going to get boo'd when he comes back.

He's going to get boo'd in New York.

He's going to have a BAD year. Maybe he still does a few things on the field, but his motivation is going to be rock bottom.

The majority of New York fans are NOT like the majority of Miami fans. They will not welcome him with open arms like we did Pennington. I will be downright shocked if they do.

In my opinion, JT was playing a game of chicken with the FO, they didn't flinch, and he wound up a Jet. If they offered him an extension in November, and he turned it down, it's no one's fault but his own.

then he should have waited a couple more days. sounds to me like he tried to leverage a deal before the FO was ready. now he has to lay in the bed he made. we went through this two years ago. enough is enough. he needs to man up and be responsible for his actions and stop playing this in the media.
