Ok. I've had a night to soak it in and I can post something more rational today. From a fan standpoint, it's disappointing to see one of your favorite players sign with a hated rival; a team that you openly despise and so does JT... supposedly. Now, from a business standpoint, it was the best offer he received from anyone. Football is just as much a business as it is a sport. He made a choice that was most beneficial for himself and his family and I can't put down anyone for that. sigh.
Agreed. Factor in how the FO (allegedly) handled the situation, and it's hard to hold a grudge against JT. Am I happy he did it? No. Do I hate him for it? No. Do I wish him well in NY? No. Do I hope we spank his a** and theirs when we face them this season? You bet your a**! Go Phins!
He doesnt sound too thrilled to be there. Its been awhile since you beat us last, to me it sounds like you guys are gonna need all the luck you can get.
I wont hold a grudge, but he did commit a cardinal sin. It's going to be bittersweet to watch him get owned by Jake Long, or just destroyed by Lou Polite this year!
found this on youtube, wow lol. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8BsX73_dXc"]YouTube- jason taylor signs with Jets. burning his jersey[/ame]
Well he can't come right out and say, "I wanted to gauge the free agent market to see if I deserved a better salary."
I'm happy with how it all worked out JT gets to continue to play football. elsewhere thankfully the Dolphins get to move on and continue to build this defense with younger players. Win win.
Who would've thought 10 years ago[or even 3 years ago] that Jason Taylor would be a Jet, and Chad Pennington would be a Dolphin. Karma??? Now let's hope JT doesnt have a monster game week 3, like Penny did in NY week 17 in 2008.
Not to be a douche, but I think JT just wanted to go to a place where he can win a SB. It's not the Miami Dolphins season next year. Maybe the next, though. Maybe.
Ya thats why he held out until the last possible minute to accept the Jets offer even though it was the only offer he received. All the while having his agent let the Dolphins FO know what was going on and hoping they would make any offer.
You're not being a douche at all. You're just not thinking straight. We understand though and have come to realize that there is something in the water you Jets fans drink...
Are you Miss Cleo? or the football god? Why are the Jets going to win the SB? Cause they made the AFC title game in 2009? So now teams automatically win the SB a year after losing in a title game? Interesting...then I guess we don't even have to have a season, let's just send the Vikings and Jets aka "AFC Redskins" to Dallas!
