http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/04/21/jason-taylor-im-not-the-devil/ Jason Taylor made his first media appearance in New York today and made friends quickly... This is kinda sad, Though I doubt I'd be this generous before a Dolphins Jest game...
He can be their friend, I honestly wouldnt want him to be my friend anymore. You're not a Dolphin, you're a Jet, and that means I pretty much hate you.
You guys can say whatever you want but to me this speaks volumes about who Jason Taylor is. Fine excuse him for leaving Miami to the team he's stated over and over he despises for money. But to go there and then bow down to the fans that you know he cannot stand and grovel for acceptance from them? That shows a distinct lack of Cajones.

Is that really all you got? Just discussing JT's press conference as we all have a right to do. You can now go to bed dressed in nothing but your JT jersey. Sweet dreams.
A). I don't own a JT jersey. B). What did you expect him to do? If Bart Scott actually came over from the Jets to us tomorrow and he did the same thing, most of our fans would eat it all up.
Why be peeved? Jason Taylor has arrived in NYC and this is his reception from NYC's media. Odd thing is, even when he was on DWTS it was more chatted about than used as something for ridicule, heck Ronnie B put up a "twinkle toes" sign on his locker. Up in NY/NJ, things are very very different.
I, as a Dolphins fan, say goodbye to Jason Taylor with a strong wave! Too bad he is on his way down hill. See you week three Jason, too bad you won't get to see any of the back field!
The last time JT left we had a good winning season. Funny that I have once again the feeling that we'll have the same kind of winning season.
He may have his reasons, as we have ours, but this is the time to cut ties, for once and for all. but he seems wrong in his leaving timing again. If Parcells nails a couple of good defensive picks and we're set for a strong push.
Dolphins didn't want him, but wouldn't tell him so. He had no other offers besides the Jets. What was he supposed to do? I don't fault Jason Taylor for not allowing Bill Parcells, Jeff Ireland or Joe Six Pack on a message board dictate when he's supposed to retire. Because that's essentially what many Dolphin fans are doing. Cut the cord for good? Are you kidding me? You don't have to like it. I don't. But like Zach Thomas, I understand it. He didn't want to go there. The Dolphins forced him there. And he's trying to make the best of it. To not make nice with the fans of his new team is to spit on the men who went all out for him, are signing his checks and the men in his locker room. It's awkward for everybody involved. But he's making the best of it. JT should retire when JT wants to retire.
Right on. Some people only see it as an emotional fan and obviously don't look it from a logical standpoint. From the perspective of a player who still thinks he has something to offer the game and wants to play. Somebody agreed with him so he went to play there. Unfortunately that somebody wasn't Parcells and/or Ireland. I think it was a mistake but we'll see.
He's got to say the right things but when it comes down to it if he and the Jets do well they'll embrace him and if he disappoints they'll continue to hate him. If he sucks or gets hurt I can already see Jets fans accusing him of trying to sabotage them.
Any other offers...that we know of, this is the one part of the Taylor narrative that I didn't buy into, if Joey Porter can sign a 3 yr deal in AZ, after being a locker room cancer in 09, Taylor who had a similar year had no other offers? Imho he took the Jets offer because it fit what he wanted to do, and they were more than likely the best team to make him an offer, and they made no bones about wanting him in NY. 7 sacks and 3 FF and a TD, and healthy, and he would have gotten no other offers? Oh he's trying, I'm not the least bit happy he is a Jet, but I don't like the outright abuse of the man. Absolutely, in fact imho he can still play at a good level, he has every right to leave it out on the field before he hangs up his cleats.
Let him do what he wants... we're not going to get the true story from either side. I don't hate the guy, I hate the team he's on. I want him to lose, but it's not like I want to see him fail... and fail miserably... such as someone like Tom Brady or Mark Sanchez...
I just dont agree with this. We know for a fact he was offered a contract extension and he shot it down point blank. Since he shot down what the FO thought he was worth they wanted to wait to see what the market offered. Seems fair from a mgmt perspective IMO. All this "we weren't interested in him" is completely disproved by the fact that we offered him a contract extension during the year last year and directly after the season also apparently. Jason Taylor chose more money to go to an organization and fan base he has no respect for at all. Moving on for more money is acceptable but when it's to an organization you clearly cannot stand then to me it's a sell out of epic proportions and shows pretty low character. Just my opinion. I'm old school. And no I'm not reacting this way because he left. I don't think he had much left in the tank anyway. In fact I think he opens up a weakness for us when we play them. I hope they play him FT in the defense. We should target running right at him all game! It's a take on the principles involved. Taylor has a right to ignore those priciples and as a fan I have a right to comment on his dismissing those priciples.
