Actively shopping Justin Smiley. John Jerry is a versatile player, big and powerful. Good choice in my mind.
It will be worse when we give up a buttload of yards through the air again next season because we don't have any good safeties.
And, there goes Major Wright. Well, either this FO doesn't have a clue, or I don't have a clue. Only time will tell who's right.
Smiley will go for a 5th, late 4th if were lucky. With his injury history, we're going to end up cutting him probably.
Yeah I know, I was going back and forth on ESPN.com and saw Giants up and thought instead they took him.
This draft is very thin on good interior lineman. I think we'll get a smiley trade before the day is over.
so we sign richie incognito for depth and there a good safties available and we go lineman again? i dont like it
Hopefully you're right. Because right now it's looking a lot like we're doing the same thing we did last year and ignoring huge and obvious positions of need in the vain hope we can fill them with someone else's dregs after the first cuts.
Yeah, I have to say while BPA is all well and good, I think you still have to weigh need into your decision making. I mean, it doesn't have to be one or the other. The two can merge to create a logical (and value based) pick. JMHO...
I wasn't referring to that pick specifically Rick. You may be missing my point. But hey, it's cool bro.
Its another meat and potatoes draft right now, whats wrong with that? Odrick is a great pick, and Misi looks to be a nice pick as well from what I've read. They are both players at positions we needed to get better, and even younger, especially if Odrick is going to play some DT as opposed to DE Jerry is listen as the second best guard in the draft to most people that ive seen, right after that iupati guy. We all know with Smiley's injury issues, what appears to be a bit of a lack of confidence in Thomas after last year, and a personal foul waiting to happen in Icognito, its quite obvious we needed an interior lineman. Jerry will probably be a starter day one from everything ive heard/read. I don't really see whats not to like so far... Sure we dont have a Safety yet... but we have what, 7 picks left?
I want Reshad Jones AND Robert Johnson tomorrow. EDIT: and unless we're planning on signing Atogwe or Sharper, I want another late round FS in addition to these two.
Odrick isn't a DT IMHO and Misi...well, I can't comment on him because I haven't seen him play. I do think it's significant that most people didn't have him rated as highly as we drafted him though. Picking up practice squad fodder in the 6th or 7th round is not addressing the safety position.
