First I will prelude with me not being much of a poster and more of a reader, but I had to chime in. Sorry if it is a little off the beaten thread of complaint, but here goes...

Why aren't YOU or ME sitting in a War Room right now getting paid hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars to draft talent for the Dolphins or any of the 32 teams in the NFL? Hmmmmmmmm?

Because we are teachers, business professionals, students, laborers, or simply just normal people who root for a sport that we have very limited knowledge about, albeit some of us know much more as educated fans than others.

But I can guarantee -that none of us - know more than Ireland, B.P., or Sparano.

Now I can understand wanting a certain player because you like them or you think they make a good fit, but I am glad that YOU or ME or McShay or Kiper aren't making those picks because they have no connection to any plan that our team's leaders have.

I am not saying that the "plan" always works (see Pat White), but these picks are part of a plan that these professionals who have succeeded at the highest-level have.

Does anyone really think that these brilliant-highly paid-successful-professionals are sitting up there throwing darts at a list of names to arrive at John Jerry, or Koa Misi? No, they aren't. They have a plan in place of where they want to be and what they want to do, and which players will bring the Miami Dolphins to achievement of the goals within their plan.

Long story short:have some faith; we are in a much different place than we were 3 seasons ago, and these gentleman have a plan, not just a bunch of names they like because Mel Kiper has them on his "Best Available."

I understand you sentiment, but no one is above questioning. And that is a healthy thing overall.

Things might have been better if people would have asked more questions about the war in Iraq. I am not saying we should or shouldn't have went there. But asking questions is healthy for everyone.

The American Government has/had done many, many things to open them up for questioning. Apples/Oranges imo.

This regime has changed the face of a franchise in 2 seasons, and although made some mistakes, it hasn't given us reasons to act as if they are clueless. As I said, we will all be baffled/disappointed in picks (as have I been in today) - but it is important to remember that they have a greater plan in place, and are not just picking players they like. And I do trust that.

Well, OP has a very strong point, but yes, no one is above questioning. As mbmonk points out, if someone had asked questions about Obama's murky background, maybe we wouldn't be where we are now.

I'm gonna laugh when our first two picks don't amount to ish! Our OLB crew is weak.......can't believe Parcells passed on so many players.

You really think that Parcells knows what he's doing? I don't, why would all these other annalists have certain players ranked where they are if they weren't worth the spot? I doubt Parcells is some draft guru, I would be willing to bet if the majority of people say one thing, it is for a reason. So all this "trust our picks" crap is just bs.

We failed to get a BIG impact player once again.....thanks Parcells

Did we just go there? This isn't POFO. Sometimes we take it too seriously. I'm sure you're not equating losing lives in a massive war with drafting a DE instead of a FS. But still, could we NOT do this on a Football forum?

EDIT: Same goes for you Agua!

i'd call Brandon Marshall a big impact player, even though he wasnt drafted yesterday or today, it cant be discounted and the FO made it happen... and the fact we recouped our number 2 this year is a huge bonus. plus we added Dobbins.

there are still chances to get impact players in this draft. Eric Norwood is still out there at OLB for example.

Henne, Davis, Long, Smith, Hartline all bums...No impact there.

Oh yeah, and undrafted Bess and Carpenter big fails there.

Great points there. I use to be like alot of these guys and get my panties in a bundle if we didnt get the big name guys. Well that doesnt always get you where you need to be. In all we dont know who might be traded or released still down the line, as with how these players improve or come along. We have a good solid young core so some of you guys have to chillax a little.

Totally agree with this. I totally understand the frustration. I happen to be thrilled with the guys we got. I think we got two starters in Odrick and Misi and Jerry is going to challenge. I do think hes already better than Donald Thomas.

This is a very good draft for us, esp when you throw in Brandon Marshall. And we aren't done yet. We still need to pick up a guy tomorrow that can contribute.

I feel good about this team.

I never singled out B.P. as the only one making the picks.

So be it, I like the direction we are headed in and the picks we made bro.

Look I wouldn't be upset about picks that I see as bad choices if I weren't a true fan. I happen to be in the minority that beleive Parcells is slowly choking our team.

People will say, but he brought in Marshall and picked Henne....who in their right mind wouLdn't have brought Marshall to the Fins given the chance, not a genius move. He should have signed Bryant last year before the Bucs did, so it's about time he brought in a impact WR

Just because we share different opinions, doesn't mean I'm not a true fan

Has this years draft played a down for the Miami Dolphins yet????

Last year people were ripping the Hartline pick.

Give them a chance before killing them and Misi and Odrick are very good players, just watch them.

We drafted Jake Long, Chad Henne, Kendall Langford, Vontae Davis, Sean Smith, Brian Hartline. Signed guys like Randy Starks, Lousaka Polite, Davone Bess, and Chad Pennington.

And we just brought in the two biggest players available. Karlos Dansby and Brandon Marshall.

We were 1-15 a few years ago. Now? We'll be fighting for the division. I hate to break it to you, but the front office knows what they're doing.

    But thanks for playing.

PEOPLE, this is a discussion forum. That is what I'm doing, stating my opinion. I don't expect everyone to agree. But there is no reason to gang up and act like I'm an idiot for having my own opinion.

I just don't think that theses picks were the best we could have done for the team this year. Don't get me wrong, I HOPE all the picks pan out and our defense is just nasty. I simply don't think that they will

If you don't think the picks were the best, who would you have taken and why?

Holy cow people. IMO I think we have had a great draft. We aquired 3 on defense in 2 rounds and deepened our o-line in the third. What more do you want? The D players that we drafted 1 is a LB (from the Chargers trade) and 2 fit the hybrid mold that they were looking for to replace the 2 we lost. We bolstered our K/P game, our LB core and our O-Line. Sounds good to me......

it all depends, at #12 before we traded or at #28 after the trade? Either way, I personally think there were better players to be had in either spot.

I think the biggest issue is the unknown. There's so much not known (outside of the FO) right now. New D coordinator, 2 new linebackers. These picks may not make sense now, but by August they will.

It's like going on a blind date. You ever see Deuce Bigelow?
