Seems like a very versatile LB with good coverage skills. He also played some TE in college. Stats as a TE are 55 catches for 940 yards and 13 TD's.

Edds had FIVE interceptions last year, plus an interception in the Senior Bowl.

Finally a LB who can cover!

But only two career sacks. Could be because of their defensive scheme though. I didn't watch him play at Iowa much. That is to say, I didn't watch Iowa much.

The burden of expectation. I think you have to enter drafts open minded hoping to pick up quality guys that fit your system. THAT was Wanny's main failure.

I remember they ripped us for ZT several years back, how did that work out for us? Not saying he is the next Zack, one can hope, but he maybe.

Very very different players, other than the fact they are both white LBs and drafted in the mid rounds.

    Coverage LB. Interesting.

He was also a team captain - that makes us 4 for 4 I believe.

You missed my point, just saying because he is not a high impact name, does not mean he will not step it up. They said Zack would only be a ST player at best.

SI.com projected him in the 3rd round, so we either reached or got a steal, depending on who you listen to. Opinions all over the place on this guy.

    And still, no safety.

With the off-season we've had if we missed on some players i still say this is the best off-season in a decade for the fins.

What you characterize as "whining" has no effect on winning or losing either way. False hope on the part of the front office does.

No, we should all bow down and chant the mantra "great pick, he will do great for us" after every pick and ignore any negatives. Right?

    5th round iirc.

And this pick is good on two fronts, our LB's will be better on known passing downs and he's a sure tackler, which will certainly help our special teams even more.

I like this pick. It's not the media pick, but it serves to make us more complete in a couple weak areas.
