Scott Porter: What type of person is an NFL team getting in you? Nolan Carroll: Off the field, a great character guy. I have never been in trouble. I always do the right things and follow the rules. On the field, they are getting a hard worker who gives 100 percent. I am always physical and never take a play off. I always compete and am not afraid to go against anyone. You serious? This is the mother****ing fifth round. I don't know where you are getting your concept of value, because no one is going to mock draft this area with any degree of accuracy.
If they wanted him and he wasn't going to be available in the 6th (which nobody knows) then it wasn't a reach.

Great this dude broke his leg not once but twice. And I don't see any history as a kick returner. Another uninspiring pick.
People on message boards. Kiper, Mayock. know all when it comes to who we should Draft.... people put way to much stock into talking heads on Espn & Nfl network...
If you guys don't like these pics, go back and look at our draft history before the Parcells era, you'll cheer up REAL quick!
If he can stay healthy, he'll make the team as a gunner. Saw this: NFL DRAFT SCOUT RISER: Nolan Carroll, CB, Maryland: Maryland's top cover corner was considered a player to watch in 2009 before breaking his leg in the second game of the year. Positive results from the Combine medical reports were a good first step to getting back into the draft conversation, but a 4.37 40 at 6-1, 202 pounds and other excellent results (6.81 three-cone, 17 reps) also helped ease scouts' mind that he's on the way back. - Chad Reuter, The Sports Xchange, NFLDraftScout.com
I stopped questioning their picks after the Hartline pick. I don't know anything about these players so I'm just going to wait and see.
It may have been the reverse order I thought the Dolphins were going, but this is a good pic since they drafted Reshad Jones after. Carroll is for DB depth and special teams. I like it. Looking at the draft now, the Dolphins got younger all levels of the defense.... DL, LB's, and the backfield. It'll be fun watching these young players develop together with the quality DL's and backfield drafted the past 2 years.
I actually had him going to the Dolphins in the Miami mock draft contest. Elite athlete. Lets see if we can coach him up.
If we give this kid some calcium and coach him up who knows, we could make something out of this guy. Sounds like a very interesting pick quite the athletic specimen
