I would like to have him at a fair price, but someone will overpay for him.

Exactly. If he's willing to come to Miami for a reasonable price, I hope they jump on it. If not, hopefully Smiley stays and competes.

Seems most in the Club think that Faneca is done...That said, the Cards might be interesting to him because of his relationship with Wisenhunt and Grimm...

PASS. This guy is on a serious decline and where are we going to put him?

Better to move Jerry inside. Jerry = upside. Faneca = no upside.

Faneca allowed more sacks than any guard in the league this past season. You guys should remember Randy Starks destroying him in the second Phins-Jets game. Above average run blocker at this point, awful pass blocker. I wouldn't pick him up. His reputation precedes him at this point, and honestly, he's probably slightly above average at best -- and he's getting old as dirt. I think someone will over-pay for him though, because his name is Alan Faneca.

The Pro Bowl bids were bogus the past couple of years.

we have four starting caliber OG's
& have added a rookie to the mix
via the draft, don't see this happening
the Pod is already an elite offensive unit

    Agree.

Starks had success against him in the first game too.

Guys, if Faneca was still a Pro Bowler, NY wouldn't be replacing him with a rookie. Or they'd be getting something in return for him.

The Dolphins will have absolutely zero interest. Garner, Jerry and Thomas (and perhaps Tsoupas) will compete at LG.

Faneca is still good against the run but not much against the pass.

I don't think the Dolphins have much money to spend on anymore high priced free agents. If they do, I'd rather see it spent elsewhere.

As muck posted if Faneca could still play at a high level they would have been able to trade him. He was the weak link in the Jets OL last year.

We don't need any more OL help.

Joe Berger, Jake Grove, Richie Incognito, Nate Garner, Andrew Hartline, Justin Smiley, Donald Thomas, Vernon Carey, Andrew Gardner, Jake Long, Lydon Murtha AND we just added John Jerry. We're overloaded already and Faneca would only cause more gridlock.

No sense in even thinking about acquiring him.

We just drafted John Jerry. Hopefully we are saving our money to sign a FS.
