Does Miami have a look see......?? Seems like Nolan will be a "presence" in this decision Adam_Schefter Everyone floating Jets as potential landing spot for former Pats LB Adalius Thomas. I'm waiting for Dolphins to make their move. ArmandoSalguero More on Adalius Thomas: The wildcard is Mike Nolan, who coached Thomas from 2001-2004 in Baltimore. I think he's slowed down quite a bit over the years. I also believe that if we didn't see resigning JT as a priority then I wouldn't think we would be too interested in AD.
I think Miami has to make this move. I don't think he's finished at all. At least a solid year or 2 left in the tank
Actually, I think the Dolphins did not resign Taylor because they intend to resign Thomas, but we'll see.
How would they know Thomas would be released? It's probably Nolans choice to make (as well as Thomas)
There's been rumblings for a few weeks now that Adalius was going to be released. I don't know if that's the reason for not re-signing Jason, but it's been known for some time.

This is exactly what I figured.....Miami wants to go young and agressive, and I believe they will live with the growing pains and develop these kids, instead of bringing in retreads, that are over the hill.... MrMichael_Smith Another Dolphins source just echoed previous source's sentiment re: Adalius Thomas."Too old we just let Jason go we're going to stay young."
The numbers game doesn't really add up. Unless he was willing to sign a cuttable contract, which I doubt he would, I wouldn't bother.
Nor is 32 Years old too old to play, but I tend to think if brought it this year with the amount of backers we drafted he would be considered a project stopper.
we need to give the patriots a taste of their own medicine. it's called, taking a player from a team and letting that player get revenge on their old team. they've done it to us several times.
He was good THREE years ago. Let someone else overpay for him and Faneca. I would rather go after Darren Sharper if he is healthy.
Your point is moot considering we most likely can't win a SB this year. Especially taking into account the fact that we aren't one Adalius Thomas away from a SB. He may help us win one more game but bringing him in serves no purpose beyond maybe helping in Misi's development.
Some see a "progress stopper", others might see a "watch-and-learn-rookie" kinda vet. As has been noted, Nolan will probably have a LOT to say about Thomas and whether he is a vet player that would help run his aggressive defense. Oh, and for the record, while I'd laugh if JT got cut by the Jets, I'd love to see Misi learning from Taylor this year.
Umm, I don see how my point is moot when I never said we were a player away from a SB nor did I say we should sign him. You may want to re-read what I posted bro
WE have the 1.5 million that Taylor was going to receive if he had stayed to sign AD, if Smiley is released, that creates a 5 million dollar savings.. But 5 million is what Sharper was asking for..now if Reggie Torbor were released we would have 8 million in savings, and that would be enough to add Thomas and Sharper.
I would love to get Sharper.....KD, and Nolan can school the young guys, that secondary is very young and needs a leader in that unit...IMO.... Not to mention the guy makes plays...
