Just for fun, do you think Jared Odrick should select #99 as his jersey number?

    We'd have had a JT, a JLo and a JO...:D

No offense to anyone, but Who really cares? I mean honestly... So Edds is going to wear 54. Great. Good for him. I know, its Zach's old number. The key words there... OLD NUMBER. Its not retired. It probably won't ever be. I know, he was incredible for us, and a huge part of this team, one of my favorite players along with JT for a long, long time. However, that being said, IMO, same thing holds true for the number 99. Its not retired, neither is the player. Neither is either player officially for that matter that I'm aware of. I just don't see the issue. I don't see why its got to be a big deal. Love both of those players, and what they did for this team, its a shame theyre both gone, but ya know what, theres an awful lot of players in the NFL, and for the Dolphins who had an impact on the teams history and haven't had their numbers retired, and new young players have come in, and wore those same numbers, and its really not the end of the world. Maybe its just because theres still so much fresh bitterness surrounding the recent departures of JT and Zach, but really, with the way the NFL numbering system works, there really aren't many to choose from, especially at this time of year with a full 80 man roster.

Long story/rant short... Yeah, let him wear it. Just hope he plays as good, and better than the previous guys that wore it. Even if not, well it is what it is.

if he wants it and is allowed to take it than he should wear it but if you want him to wear it just because it was JTs number than no, he shouldnt wear it.

I voted no. Fans here want to see him in #99 for all the wrong reasons. If I'm a young guy coming in I want to make a new number great, not try to be the next Jason Taylor or show up a legend.

Well, 'the wrong reasons" depends on those reasons.

If Odrick chooses #99, it is a simple matter to remove "J Taylor" from a #99 Dolphins jersey and sew a "J Odrick" in it's place...:shifty:

    280 bucks is 280 bucks...:D

Zach has been gone for over 2 years and is no longer playing. It's plenty of time.

Not to mention we have 5 new LBs and only 5 available numbers between 50-59 and 90-99.

Odrick will probably have to take 74 for that reason (unless he wants 62 or 63, which I doubt).

    Unsure and here's why:

I do respect what JT did over the years, but he also crapped on us in the end. So give #99 to a scrub player on special teams.

The training staff wouldn't give out Larry Csonka's number before he retired.

The training staff wouldn't give out Richmond Webb's number. (I don't know if that policy has changed, and I don't know if this number has been retired).

I think respect comes from the top down. And this is another instance, in my opinion, whereby Parcells, Ireland, and Sparano have shown a lack of class. They may be good football people, but Don Shula had more class in the hairs around his a**hole than these guys have in their entire bodies. I don't care if we were to win the Super Bowl 10 times in a row, I'd say the same thing.

More proof: Just ask Dez Bryant about his interview with Ireland. I still can't believe the nerve of Jeff Ireland. I would have decked him. I guess Dez Bryant has more control than I do.

I voted yes, but only because I think it would be funny to see the QBs of the AFC East harassed for another decade by #99.

I just think it might put him too much in the spotlight. But then again, he's our first round pick, he's going to be there whether he likes it or not. So at the end of the day its really a moot point.

Who cares ?? I love JT and seeing someone else wear that number doesn't change that, just like seeing others over the years wearing #66 doesn't change the fact that Kooch is my favorite Dolphin of all time....

    Much ado about nothing...

Yet no new number for Marshall. Must be really trying to get 15 from Bess, otherwise he would have chosen a new number already.

You hit the nail on the head. I love how they are building the team, but class from the top is now dead.

class is dead why because ireland asked diva bryant a question about his mom in an attempt to get a reaction or because the dolphins gave a rookie zt's number. i think you people are blowing this no class in the FO nonsense way out of proportion

    Just win the damn ballgame.

I'll waste my time typing this out, but here goes:

There is a reason why the Browns suck, and have sucked for 95% of their new existence..they have allowed decisions, football decisions, to be influenced by players who were once stars, and beloved in the community, even Bill Belichek was run out of Cleveland for trying to change that loser *** culture, "oh so and so meant soo much to the franchise for sooo many years, we can't do that because so and so won't like it"

Bravo Sierra, out with old, in with the new, if Dolphins fans haven't noticed, we haven't sniffed a SB in..18yrs...those "all time great" Dolphins maybe racked up stats, but they did not rack up playoff wins.
