Who knew he had a twin sister?! That was such a great story. The Dolphins better win the super bowl this year or next! Get him a ring with Miami.

Has anyone ever bought one of the 30 for 30 DVDs?? Do they have extra features? Amazon says it is released on dvd tomorrow.

I hope he's able to finish it up here too. I think he's really earned the respect of the coaching staff and the FO. I get the impression that theyd be willing to keep him here as long as Ricky is productive..

Only thing that really bothers me about the whole Ricky thing... is just what could have been. Just imagine if he didnt have all those other things goin on in his life and was just able to focus on playing football. Just cant help but wonder what his career numbers would look like, just how dominant he could have been.

Ricky Willams is my hero. After all the crap he went through i respect the hell out of him. He has surpassed Dan as my favorite dolphin. Only because Ricky seems like a real guy not just a superstar.

Exactly. The fact that he is human and acknowledges his limitations and where/when he's fallen short in life. But then works as hard as he does to turn things around and get things on the right track. He's not a superstar, but a brilliant human being we should all aspire to be like. He's just an amazing story. Ricky not only made things right internally, but also made things right with the people he loved/loved him.

It's not about how many times you fall, but how you can pick yourself up every time.

    That's a great post.

So true. As much crap as Ricky has probably had to take, and probably still takes from alot of people, he's really a great person, story, and inspiration if you take the time to listen and understand. Shame that an awful lot of people, especially in the media (especially at the time all the crap went down) were too stupid to realize it, and just wanted to bash him.

I love the interview he did with Mike Wallace... When he started questioning Wallace on when it was ok to quit football, after his knees were shot, after numerous concussions and stuff. Never afraid to be himself. Got to admire that.

I absolutely loved that part; he was like "Ok, Mike, when would you like me to quit football? I really care about your journalistic opinion on the matter:yawn:". As fans we superficially care about "our guys" who produce on Sundays but, bottom line: Fans don't feel what these guys feel after 8-9 years of beatings. It was really tough to understand then, but it is so clear now (assuming it wasn't already clear when he first came back to set the record straight).

Amazing documentary. I have alot of respect for Ricky for fighting his personal demons and winning.
I do hope he keeps playing long enough to win a SB. think he has a couple of years left in him and he said it himself that he hasnt decided if he wants to keep playing ot not.

I hear ya... 775 carries over 2 years, I would think would definitely make you re-think your decision to be an NFL running back. I cant imagine how tough it must have been for Ricky to wake up on Mondays. Honestly, at that point I wouldn't have blamed him. Im sure he always knew he wants to do more with his life after his football days are over, how are you supposed to do that with a destroyed body before you're 40 years old. The best thing I think about Ricky, not afraid to be himself anymore, not really concerned with what others think, and he's living life his way. There's alot to be said for that, I think its something that alot of people don't do anymore. So, people can mock him all they want, it just shows the type of person they are really.

It was such a great story because at the end you could tell just by the way he spoke that he had grown as a person and into someone i as a fan respect. He's such a unique person that has been so severely misunderstood. I hope only great things continue to come for ricky. He is easily one of my favorite dolphins of all time.

I thought it was a very good documentary. Ricky's a really smart guy, something you didn't hear too much about when he wasn't playing during his hiatus with the Dolphins. I hope he's happy with how this film came out.

I agree with the idea of what ya said. But IMO

Remember He has lived the American Dream. He had the freedom and opportunity to build himself up, tear himself down, and has opportunity to redeem himself. He played it his way, different than most but found the a way to succeed personally and professionally. He never gave it up just found what that dream meant to him. I believe that is what they tried to portray in this documentary.

It just goes to remind you that the media portrays and feeds off of only the negative parts of stories. Thats why I like this series so much. It shows you the whole story behind what happened.

I believe we are on the same page, it comes to the admiration for his hard work and ability to overcome obstacles. I guess i was thinking more of the American dream reference (imo the american dream is not money, fame or glory). He made decisions for his health but also selfish reasons.

After self-destructing for a period. He realizes that he put him self in these situations and is accountable. He makes no excuses for his past but also acknowledges them.

While he has anxiety issues and personal issues he has learned to come to peace with them. He is to be commended. :hi5:

Yes, I agree. But its also more of a documentary style of film. But we still only see what they want us to see.

He's been my favorite Dolphin since we got him, and my favorite athlete.

I never got rid of my #34 jersey. The timing stunk, but I wasn't even mad when he left.

He's a different guy. I've always been fascinated by him. This documentary, full of warts and awful truths, will go a long way to repairing his image with the public. Maybe not 'repairing' so much as people can finally see what he is and not just throw around the insults and such.

You knew it would be raw and unfiltered because that's what he is. He's all about seeking truth.

It was good. I love Ricky but I do agree with his Boston diagnosis though, narcisism. He gets a little to selfish and arrogant at times. As a father I cannot see how anyone could just walk away from there family for any length of time. Good story though and I'm glad he's a Dolphin.

It makes all sense to me his thinking, the crux of it being I got at least is, is that of humility.....the guy had everything, and if he played the years lost out, no doubt he would have been up there with one of the best ever....he had everything but himself, and when you dont have yourself, you have squat.....I loved where he said the only way he could be one with himself and find him is when he was at the bottom....which if you think about it that is when you learn the most of yourself, when everything is good, you dont really think of what you can do or accomplish, however when there is adversity, it is amazing what you can overcome.....thats humility, to have everything, not like it, because of yourself, putting it aside to find it, and becoming that complete person....the guy has that "it" they talk about...

Favorite line........when the director said, "When you put a camera on Ricky, he is going to put a mirror on you"

The documentary touched on the whole narcisisim issue. There is a fine line between narcisism and looking inward to find one's self.

    It was great.
    But there were 2 things
    1. I think he might play for a while, I think he will pursue his curiosity in medicineand his body as an experiment.
    2. The failed drug test that he said was not weed, and the filmmaker thought he took amphedamins(spelling). I think he took shrooms or peodi(spelling), he probally wanted to look deeper into himself.
