Just watched it. I have nothing else to add as everything I wanted to say was already said in this thread. I'm happy for Ricky and am proud to have him on the Dolphins. What a brilliant person and a brilliant documentary.

I agree with fy, my favorite line was "When you put a camera on Ricky, he's going to put a mirror on you."

Do you remember last year when he pounded the freshman back 46 times in one game....I called it player abuse and that it should be seriously looked into...if I was that kids father I would have confronted his ***..

I would of said.."Your not gonna run my kid in the ground and shorten his future..Fu$# that..

Does anyone feel that giving a freshman running back 46 carries wrong?

"he was able to leave all that and find himself"....

and climb in a tent doing so...

I loved it when he talked about the dark place that everyone know's, but that most choose to not fully go there...

    I love that dark place..

"Black demon... Black Visor"......My nickname for him seems quite appropo...lol......he battled them mother grabbers.... in the dark.....
    and won...

I just went deep on ya Travis.

    " you cannot understand the depths of me!!!!"....{Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting}

    Peace Ricky...you freakin Ninja.

That was one of the most interesting things I have ever watched.

One moment he was saying these deep things that you could really relate to. The next you thought he should have been locked up in a loony bin. I could go from loving the guy to hating him in an instant or vice versa. It was almost infuriating because I couldn't get a handle on my emotions.

I'm glad Ricky battled through everything. I'm not just if was an artifact of the film production but at the end, Ricky demeanor seems to have completely changed. Much more confident, and he no longer said those things that made him look bonkers.

Overall a great piece of film put together. The director should be very proud.

And the part where he ran and jumped into the pool with his kid like he was body slamming him was hilarious.

Does anyone else find it ironically awesome that Parcells has sent JT packing twice, and Ricky is still here?

Speaks volumes, imo, about Ricky's character, locker room presence and work ethic.

JT was one of the most outspoken against Ricky long ago.

    I think it's awesome.

I found it refreshing that so many people at Jetsnation who like me truely hate the other team to its core had so many good things to say about Ricky and this piece. He's really a good dude. A little out of the norm to put it politely but the kids got a good heart. :thumbup1:

Interesting that Wannstadt didnt give an interview. Nor did Huzeinga. Or Parcells. Three big chunks of the story that are missing.

Hope that Ricky always stays with his family no matter what other choices he makes in life. Im Happy for him and sincerely hope hes at peace with the life hes made for himself.

I just got done watching this. I can resonate with the issues he had (has?) very well. Minus the fame and the money, but I completely get where he's coming from with the social and personal anxiety.. and it's really a ***** to deal with. The movie does a very good job of getting exactly how hard these things are to deal with, and unless you know what it's like that can be very hard to know sometimes.

The fact that he has found a sense of self after all these years is a very refreshing occurrence of events for me. I know more now about the person than I ever did and the only thing I want for him is the continuation of a fulfilling personal life.. I think of what football means to me, and largely that's a kick *** defense and smash mouth football.. and I'm excited that ricky is suiting up for this team in 2010.

Dave W was a prick. he ran Ricky to death. if I am not mistaken when Ricky ran for 1800 yrds he was going to be rewarded by being one of the lowest paided backs in the league. I truley beleive that Dave W knew of rickys problems and tryed to capitalize on the fact that he had a monster back that had know real personal value of a dollar and just abused the mental issues thah ricky had. anyway that run Ricky Run really made me gain alot of respect for Ricky. I knew he had some issues but not all of that. I hope we keep him for years to come. his ae is not that much of a factor due to his early retirement. he has some great years in his body.FINS TO WIN IN 2010 LOL

had some personal contact w/Thiesman when he w/ playing ball
had a beautiful condo in FTL right on the beach near the port
the guy w/ a real party animal, frequented the Bahamas a lot
nothing mean-spirited that came from him would surprise me
although in his defense, there w/ never a dull moment w/Joe

    P.S. he hated all-things Dolphins

Most of that is not true. RW was given a new contract after coming to Miami. That contract was negotiated by Steinberg IIRC. He was not getting screwed. And RW actually asked not to come out on third downs. Wannstedt's problem, (beyond failing to understand it's a passing league and not being able to draft) is that he left it up to RW to control his play count. If Wanny had been a better leader he would have taken charge and protected RW from himself. But make no mistake about it. The number of carries, the suspensions, the quitting, the MJ, the child support, etc., were all RW's doing, not Wanny or anybody else's.

That statement isn't CLOSE to being logical. I've read your other posts concerning Ricky and it seems you have it out for Ricky to the point where you are making illogical statements.
