    .
Alot of people predicted this was in the works, and many more wishing it to happen. Some say hes to old.

Is this another move by an agent and player to get the ball rolling only to sign back with the saints? Is this viable option for us as Reshad learns this year? Does this hamper the development of our young guys?

I believe we are interested in his veteran leadership on this young defense. Also I believe it shows the talk of our FO being comfortable with our young safeties is a bit of predraft smoke. We are after all going after our third FS vet.

Whats your thoughts now that the draft is over? What would it cost?

You had to think they have someting up their sleeve. If we add Sharper to anchor the Secondary and Marshall this offseason, I'll be extremely extatic!!!!!!!

We lost a ton of veteran leadership on defense. Recent Superbowl winner Sharper could really drive that home. Also Dansby played in the big game recent also. I think he could be a huge asset. But i do worry about the young guys they cant learn if there not out on that field ( but wow we have alot of new rookies on that side of the ball).

It sure seemed to help Henne's development. I think a vet's presence who is willing to mentor a younger player while in the twilight of his career is critical in developing young talent. JMO.

I agree that some well placed vets are needed to develop young talent. In your opinion is Sharper better bet for this yr? If we really contend im sure the experience helps. But if we are contending next yr can the playing time for Jones be a better use of his time?

I think so as long as the knee is solid. I would hate to throw Jones out there and end up with a shell shocked rookie who can't shake it similar to Jason Allen.

True , wow you said Jason Allen that's seven yrs bad luck. LOL

I'm trying to look at this on both sides. Sharper is a great stop gap, but our defense is young. So I'm torn that they should gel together vs. the vet. Guess that's why i'm asking, thanks for the input.

Whats your opinions on weather the Saints want this guy back? It kinda appears like our Jason Taylor. They Waited till after the draft, or waiting for that Knee to look better. After his season last yr if they are willing to let him go, it raises questions in my mind.

If this were last year I would say let someone else sign Sharper while we continue to build and grow as a young football team. Heck, I'd have said the same thing three months ago for that matter.

But this offseason we've had has changed my mind. If Henne can progress like we all hope he can, we have the pieces to make a run at it this year. Adding Sharper at the FS spot on a 1 or 2 year deal (which would essentially be the same thing depending on how we structure it) would add veteran leadership and talent to what is, in my opinion, the biggest hole we have left at any position on either side of the ball.

I play to win, but I'll runn devils advocate. Are we really set to contend, we replaced are D cordinator, dropped the vets and drafted almost all defense. If what you say is true for last year, why not for this yr. Is Marshall that big big of difference or do you believe these rooks with Sharper and Dansby help us turn that corner?

    Run Devil's Advocate.

We added possibly the premiere WR in the league and a pro bowl LB to anchor our defense. Our OL boasts improved depth, so our running game should be just as ferocious. What is the one kink in the armor with this team right now?

The secondary. Address safety and the Miami Dolphins take the field as a complete football team in 2010 (assuming we re-sign Fasano at TE).

I break it down like this. We were a 7-9 team with more injuries to starting players than we could count on one hand, against a brutal schedule. In the offseason, we have upgraded the following:

    Nolan >>>>>>> Pasqualoni

    Dansby >>>> Ayodele

    Marshall >>>>>>>> Ginn

Misi > Porter (I hate to say that as I'm projecting the success of a rookie, but I firmly believe it)

Wake (IF used properly) > JTraitor

    Henne 3rd year >> Henne 2nd year

Then you factor in our upgrades at Guard, our rookie corners maturing, and getting Ronnie, Will Allen, Patrick Cobbs and Big Ferg (at the halfway point) back from injury, as well as our shuffling of the D-line which I love, and we've gota damn good football team, barring a "force majeure."

I think we could be good enough to make a serious run, and adding Sharper to replace Wilson would be icing on the cake. But I'm an optimist

    unfinished business:
    1) no brilliant mind needed to see that a veteran @ FS is a viable alternative & will probably be pursued & closed by Miami before the beginning of the season. as I have posted before: this is our Achilles Heel for 2010. Sharpe would do just fine. There are several others that come available
    2) look for the return of David Martin @ TE if he is healthy. this is another obvious potential move

I'd like to have him in Miami, but I suspect they like Tyrone Culver more than most would realize but the Trifecta doesn't wish to reveal that to the public at the moment.

Ck did a nice job on this video of Culver, what strikes me about him is he is around the ball..a lot..

I agree we have made some serious moves this off season. I believe we have to do something at this position. We cant tell the world we are comfortable with what we got after going for three new guys. You always had faith we had a alternate plan lol. Culver has potential

Always love the videos from them, and great to hear them get props on the Dolphins official site during the draft and in the press lately.

Why ya think we are going after FS's in free agency? I cant believe that these guys are being recruited for back-up rolls there still productive? I guess im looking for what are Culver issues that need to be corrected ?

Well, I'm not 100% that they are going after FS's in FA, they have a price in mind and they made offers that were probably below market and Rolle and Clark walked, imho they only did that because they are comfortable with what they have at FS.

There is not a whole lot out there anymore, just guys like Jermaine Phillips and Sean Jones and D Sharper.

J Phillips is injury prone, S Jones was a train wreck in Philly and Sharper is an option, at 35 though..who knows?

That leaves Otogwe, and he is in line to make 7 million or more this year

Agree they may love Culver but maybe he's not ready or may being forced to play this hand because of available talent. I think they are not sold thats all im saying. So they are trying Sharper. This regime is about no nonsense, utilize time wisely i doubt they spend so much energy on looking for a FS if they are confident with what we have on the roster.

It seems like an unlikely event to me from what I've read, but it would be pretty awesome. We would definitely be a contender at that point barring injuries. There's really no spot on our team that looks weak if we shore up Safety. Sure we'll be starting rookies at a few defensive spots, but they were high draft picks for the most part.
