For real. I think we screwed ourselves over with that one. Any FA who is going to come here now is going to look at what we paid Wilson, and what we're paying Dansby and Marshall and just laugh at any offer we can legitimately give them, thinking we should be able to do better.

Augh, Wilson is still haunting us and he isn't even on the team.

I wouldnt lose sleep over it. GM's and agents know what the market value is. every team makes mistakes, but the dolphins are my team so they took a calculated risk lol

You contend by winning games. Its not like, "well, we'll be a contender, so lets get this guy". If Sharper helps us win games, he'll help us contend. If we win two more games last year (and we had our chances) we could have been a contender for the playoffs. And once you get in, anything can happen...look at the Jets.

So its this year for Miami. We don't know what is going to happen next year. This year is our best chance, and might be our best chance for a while. There might even be a lockout next year, so nothing is guaranteed.

Point being, you don't exclude a guy from the team if he'll make you better so you can give some rookie "experience". I might have understood that logic in 08, but I wouldn't not buy that now.

There are thee teams in the AFC that I think right now have a chance to win the SB....Indy, Baltimore, and whoever comes out of the east. And in the AFCE, against NE and NYJ, we were 3-1 last year.

Well Stated! Sharper helps us win. I like this, i should have thought about the now factor when thinking in the terms i stated TY. I guess i get caught up in not wanting older vets on the team if we dont have the building blocks in place. We need the rookies to really step up, and people like Starks to excel in new rolls to contend

So now that the draft is over has Sharper's cost increased or decreased. What ya think the value is for a a aging vet but sorely needed? That it appears will truely compete for the spot. Is he willing to do this or go somewhere they say he has a starting position?

more rain on the sharper parade.word off of nfln is that he is visiting with jax who really needs a fs and also has a visit with dallas(if i heard right) who also is in need of fs.as of yet we have no visits set up for him here but i'd like to state that marshall did not visit us nor did groves.

Darren Sharper headed to the airport, leaving Jacksonsville after visiting the Jags. No contract at this point. More on NFL Network tonight

Would definitely be a great offseason if we got Sharper.

As much as I respect your opinion I've got to disagree. Him walking away from the Jags means that the contract they offered wasn't good enough, and it tells me he's looking for a Payday. If he was looking for a contender he'd stay with the Saints. But he's looking for the uncapped year Pay Day, and after Dansby and Marshall I really don't think we have that left in the coffers to give him.
