The one thing I've learned about the CFL is...Speed..Speed...Speed...they typical CFLer HAS to run well to play, so Sparano may be off base a bit on that one...

RGM is also faster than DBess...but DBess has better hands.

Wait a minute here, what did I miss?

    Is Ryan a Dolphin now???

OK I read the article...wow, best news I have had in days. Mullen and Bess both were 1,000 yd recievers at HI. The HI recievers HAD to be really smart players and able to communicate and have perfect timing with the QB.

I really hope he makes it. Our WR corps is going to be sick this year.

Supposedly they are tracking down Jason Rivers as well..j/k

We have 2/3rds of the 07 UHI Wr corps on the roster.

Last I heard Rivers was still on the Titans roster. He was the only one of the three drafted, even though he was the third leading reciever of the group. I think it was just a size thing, Mullen and Bess were both better.

Padre, I know you know all about RGM, because of your new found love of the CFL, so I'm not telling you anything you don't already know.
But, I guarantee Grice-Mullen makes this team and is the KR/PR in Week 1.

    P.S. CFL Draft today Padre.

I won't guarantee that same thing as imho RGM's hands are spotty, if he drops a kick ala Chris Williams he will not be on the dolphins very long.

And I'm somewhat geeked over that, there will be a live chat today at noon, I linked to it down in the CFL draft thread.

BC is just determined to take Shawn Gore...and he is in Packers minicamp.

His hands are fine, IMO. I'll be surprised if he doesn't make the team as the returner.
If not him then who? Back to Bess? Pretty uninspiring if you ask me.

Julius Pruitt, Kory sheets, Tristan Davis, all 4.4 players.

And relistening to Sparano's presser he mentioned that the "return guy" will have more opportunities to do things than just return kicks, RGM did used to run a jet sweep in BC, but it is unknown whether or not any of the above guys can do the same thing.

That would seem to give him an edge "but" Tristan Davis is a prototype retuner who specialized in returning kicks at Auburn, he is #20 and I'm really keeping an eye on him.

I like Sheets' chances the best to be the new KR man. He would also give us a different dimension as the 3rd RB, breakaway speed. Something Cobbs and Hilliard lack. Cobbs is a big question mark coming back from a knee anyway.
RGM and Sheets both could make the team. Grice could be the 5th WR and return punts while Sheets runs back kickoffs perhaps. His making the team as the 5th WR would likely mean an end to Turner unless he starts looking like Hakeem Nicks during training camp. Cam is a personal favorite of Tony's and it would take a lot before Turner is going to force a cut of Cam.

I agree about T. Davis. He is the dark horse candidate to be the KR man IMO.

Well there goes any chance of him being anything more than a return man.

Well, Cobbs is Henning's "guy", he is a savvy player and handles ST kick coverage as well, Sheets is like a Statue who does one thing really well, that could hurt his chances to make the final 53.

RGM has 2 yrs of practice squad eligibility, but I suspect this will be a Winner Take all kind of deal, win the Returner job outright or maybe no longer be here.

As an aside, that 08 Draft Class underperforming is causing all sorts of problems, from not picking up a Te due to John Nalbone, to White causing a logjam at Qb and Pat Turner's lack of performance with just as valid prospects on the roster.

Tristan is stumpy, thick, and fast, and experienced, I suspect he will open some eyes during Training Camp just due to being a physical overmatch for third and fourth string types.

Um, I'd rather have hartline in there than two WRs with what appears to be similar skill sets.

I thought RGM was a better return man than Bess in college. But i do agree that his hands can be spotty at times.

Saw these guys play live numerous times and the articles about there similarities are right on( I remember being at games and having to wait to see which number was on the back of the dreadhead that just scored. I'm sure it was just as confusing for defenses). I have a good feeling about him bcuz RGM and Bess have experience finding holes in the secondary together and their chemistry may still work. And like I said before, I also think he is the better return man of the two.

That is incorrect Fin-O, in BC they used RGM on the Jet Sweep in the same way we used Ricky Williams in our WC.

His hands are not terrible, as in Chambers/Ginn bad, and he can make the tough catch in a crowd, but on stuff like crossing routes I've seen passes ricochet off of his mittens.
