Interesting, according to King, the Dolphins were as split on Derrick Morgan as "us" fans were, but look at the way they worked out of the situation:

-Traded back picking up the #28 and #40 and Tim Dobbins

-Took Jared Odrick and Koa Misi

One way to look at that is we lost Morgan but picked up Odrick, Misi and Dobbins, three players who all can be expected to contribute in 2010.

I wouldn't say we "missed out" on Derrick Morgan so much as dodged a bullet.

We also lost a 6th round pick and traded down in the 4th

Really?!? Mr. King, "after one minicamp, it looks like both will be starting."
This is patchwork journalism if I've ever seen it. Just like the articles that said Miami was interested in Darren Sharper (simply because they knew we needed a FS).
I usually pay extra attention to Peter King's collumns because he does have excellent insight, but it looks like he just phoned this one in.

I beg to differ. I think the coaches and management believe that Misi and Odrick can start right from Week 1.
As usual, I think "Mr. King" is bang on with his assesment.

yeah, I wasn't really saying they both weren't targeted to start but the way he worded it sounds like he's predicating it all on one rookie minicamp.

Yeah I didn't read it like that the first time. But the re-reading it, it does kind of come across like it is all based on one mini-camp.
But I still think the coaching staff and FO expect both Misi and Odrick to be starters.
