A Philadelphia Phillies fan was tasered by an officer. You know, one thing you'll never see is a Marlins fan getting tasered. Because we (Marlins Fans) have better things to do than to go Marlins games.
For his size, that security guy has pretty good form And check out the look on the Phillie fans face... " electrocuted in 5,4,3..."
That d-bag police didn't need to tase that kid. He wasn't hurting anybody. He wasn't doing anything that hasn't been done THOUSANDS of times before. What's wrong with letting this fool run around until he gets tired, and kicking his arse out of the ballpark and banning him from future games? They had to tase him and ARREST him? Absolutely ridiculous.
Yeah, definitely should have tackled him and broken a few bones that way... Tackling is much safer -_-
Going to have to disagree with you on this one bro. You never know if this kids got a weapon on him or what his intentions are. Besides I can watch him get Tazerd over and over and it never seems to get old.
This is the thing I think most people don't think about. Tasers were brought in to counter "tackling" as people didn't like all the damage people took when they were being wrestled to the ground.

This kid should have to travel around the country to various police stations and be forced to allow young kids learning about tasing be allowed to tase him over and over and over. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSYlxzCHvKg"]YouTube- The Hangover- Taser Scene[/ame]
I completely disagree with you here. Like most people have said already, the kid was doing something illegal and his true intentions weren't known at the time, so it's better to be safe than sorry. While this time the kid didn't have a weapon on him nor did he have any bad intentions (except being an idiot), there have been cases where fans have ran on the field with weapons, for example in early 2000s two Chicago fans jumped and attacked the Royals 1st base coach from behind and one of them had a knife, also what about the fan that stabbed the woman tennis player (was it Stephie Graff?)? The fans have no business being on the field of play nor should they be rewarded or treated with kid gloves by security. Also I'm almost 100% positive that anyone that jumps on the field of play is in fact arrested and spends the night in jail. I'm actually glad that this kid was made an example out of (and also glad he wasn't seriously hurt by the taser). The kid had no right running onto the field and these idiots that do need to learn that.
I like the blase attitude you guys have about seeing the police use unnecessary force on a guy not hurting anybody. You guys are so PC it's ******ed. "He was doing something illegal", blah, blah blah. Look, if there's no cars coming, I walk across the street against the light. Maybe I should be tased, because I did something illegal? Come on, people. If the kid was running toward/after playersor coaches, or if he was waving a weapon around, I would definitely agree the cop did the right thing. But he did nothing remotely threatening. The fact of the matter is that this was a young kid running on a baseball field trying to be funny. He was waving a TOWEL around. He didn't threaten ANYBODY. Watch the video, and you'll see he AVOIDED contact with EVERYBODY. It was completely obvious that he was just a jackass running on the field. Yes, the kid is an ***, but he's no criminal. Why do you people think the crowd booed the pig for tasing this kid? Because the overwhelming majority of those in attendance feared for the players' safety and agreed with the cop tasing him?
I think you need to crawl off your high horse, calm down, and turn off the nwa tapes real quick. This has nothing to do with being pc. It is what it is. He is running on the field during a live game. They have no idea if that is all he is doing or he has other intentions.
Congrats to the security officer for hitting a moving target while on the move. Awesome. Straight Call of Duty.
A guy once attacked former Cubs pitcher Randy Myers with a knife during a game. You just never know. In fairness to the attacker, Randy Myers was ****ing horrible that year. EDIT: Ok so it wasn't a knife. BUT IT COULD HAPPEN!
You're the one performing E-fellatio on the kid, and we're the PC crowd? Please, the criminal got what he deserved, he was subdued by a force equal to the means necessary to end the disruption to a sporting event as fast as possible. That's the bottomline. The paid attendance was there to watch BASEBALL not a loser Fan (warned by his own Dad) run onto the field of play and disrupt the expected action. And seriously, "the pig".... Some folks here on this forum really are BALL-less when it comes to understanding rules, criminal acts, and the LAW. A security guard is now equated to a PIG because this delinquent took it upon himself to be placed in a situation that was met with proper force and quickness. wow....
I have an idea. How about people not running onto the field and disrupting the game? Assuming tazing doesn't get neutered in Philly after this, I'd bet nobody else runs on the field the rest of the season. Save for the Johnny Knoxville's of the world.
He wasn't a security guard, genius. He was a police officer. That's why I called him a pig, because he is. And because his fat, donut-eating *** couldn't catch this kid, he tased him. It's pathetic. And the folks on this forum calling this kid a criminal makes me laugh. He's not a criminal, he's just a stupid jackass.
Yeah **** the popo eh? I bet the tune would change rather quickly if the next person to jump a field had a gun. As has been pointed out there have been incidents where people on the field have attacked players/coaches. The cubs first base was already mentioned. Wasnt Monica Seles stabbed in the back during a tennis match? Fans have NO BUSINESS at all being on the field. This wasnt a brutally unnecessary take down. Hes running around not taking calls to stop and get on the ground. When you do that, you get taken down. I have no sympathy for that and I just laugh at you F the popo crowd.
When I think of a criminal, I think of somebody who did something to hurt someone else, NOT a teenager who ran onto a baseball field during a game. Every time I get a blow job from my wife in the privacy of my bedroom, I'm breaking the law. Should I be labeled a "criminal"? Absolutely not. I should be labeled a pervert. The world isn't black and white, do yourself a favor and lighten the hell up.
You, too. Lighten up for christ sake. It was just a case of a stupid teenager being a stupid teenager.
Gotta go with True on this one. The kid was being a kid...stupid, but it is what it is. They should have tackled, arrested, and charged him with a misdameanor. I personally think tazing is out of control. Tazing was originally intended to be a non-lethal alternative to using a firearm. There's not a chance in hell that this case warranted a firearm, so it does not warrant tazing IMO. Officers are too quick to use tazers to subdue uncooperative people, when they should only be deployed in defense of one's life.
Wont be the last time you are way off base.........the kid knowingly and purposefully broke the law and got caught...he is a criminal by that act in a public setting.
You can't bash the officer here. You just can't. As many others have already stated, the kid was dumb and broke the law, then ran from the cops. You don't know what he was thinking or if he had a weapon. The cop did what he deemed fit. Good for him.
And I love all those people who say "**** the police!!" Yeah, **** the police, until you're in danger and need their help. Then it's "I love the police!!"
I suggest a cattle rope ...It's the only way to stop someone who won't listen and keeps running when told to -repeatedly- by police. Best technology we have for that kind of stuff <_<
Tackling does hurt and is very dangerous. Tazing was originally intended to be a safer way of taking someone down without having to tackle them or use billy clubs, which can be much more damaging. It was never meant to be a non-lethal alternative to using a firearm. The person with the firearm would win too many times in the tazer versus firearm battle.
Pshhh, you think Tazering is to harsh? Don't want to get Tazerd? No problem the solution is quite simple. Don't run onto the field. The kid had a choice to make he just made the wrong one. Zaaaaapp!
To quote Bill Murray, as he began leading police on a high speed chase in Groundhog Day, "You make choices, and you live with them!" Kid calls dad, "Dad, I'm gonna run out on the field". Dad: "Probably not a good idea, son". Kid runs out on field and gets the business end of a taser. Choice and consequence. He knew what he was doing. And it's not like he was hurt. If two decades of COPS has taught me anything, it's that white trash bounces back from tasers pretty quickly.
what a dumbass. just do it if you're gonna.. as far as cop good vs. bad goes.. kid wasn't hurting anyone, but he could have. i mean he was kinda waving something around for a few seconds i think if he was going to do something violent he would have at the point they tazed him, but people are crazy. and that's why i think it's ok they took him down. you just don't interrupt things like that. unless you're a hot naked chick. no, but really...
