    Good read.

There's no doubt Incognito has the intensity, he just needs to keep it under control a bit. You gotta love lineman that are nasty.

I didn't see this posted if it is please move it.

I thought it was a good read especially wondering if we signed a problem or a player. Looks like Sparano had to be behind this one.

A quote from Ingognito i liked
I like to hit people. I like to bring the contact to people and that was one of the major reasons for me choosing between baseball and football. There’s no contact in baseball and I’m an aggressive type of guy.”

Incognito has some upside. People write him off because he got cut from the Rams but they basically admitted he was their best linemen. He's been basically a white Rex Hadnot for a couple years enough and has the potential for more, and career-rescue wise he isn't as big a job as Jake Grove was.

That being said, he has a stiff competition for a starting spot. I think he has major competition from Joe Berger, who I think probably should be a favorite for a guard spot.

So long as he can play with intensity, and learns to stop it on a dime, I'm cool with him. I just worry about taking the chance since we really don't keep a lot of depth at guard active. After that game last year (forget which) where we had Smiley go down, then Grove, and then had to play with a hodgepodge line with Berger playing Center for the first time, and Grove having to come back in injured... Yeah, it just worries me to lose someone on the line to aggression issues, starting a fight or whatever.

Strange thing I find is that most, if not all, NFL teams only dress 7 offensive lineman on game day. One is usually a G/C backup and the other is a G/T backup. The NFL has to let these teams dress a few more guys on game day. Every team keeps at least 9 active Olineman on their roster and two are inactive on game day but they still get paid the same thing if they were active and standing on the sideline. Only difference in pay are the Olineman on the Practice squad.

i don't think many are writing Incognito off ... in fact most have already pencilled him in as a starting G.

i believe 1 of the positions is his to lose ... but there will be some serious competition at G this year - and that is a very good thing. we will have very good depth all along the line this year and for the next few years.

I don't think Rex Hadnot on his best day could match the intensity, strength and run blocking prowess that Richie I possesses.

Reading that article I would have to imagine someone like Incognito would welcome the competition as opposed to some prima dona that expects to just walk in and start.

I bet he regrets passing on baseball. You can be a Grade-A ******* all you want in that sport. Just ask Milton Bradley.
