So the "Hole on Ozone" never exsisted, I mean think about it, this article says that it is due to "aerosol banned legislation" when arguably we have been producing more pollution on all facets of life, cars, houses, planes...there is more off everything.....and you are going to tell me aerosol can legislation has saved the world??? Come on.....

Fact is it never exisited, gobal warming doesnt exsist, time and time again it is proven to be false, especially in light of the scientist overseas...it is just one big money maker, especially for politicians, I mean I recycle, do my best to do everything to help the environment from my end, but dot push this extra money sheet on us for everything that uses electricity...Come people it is a ploy to get you to pay more money for everything...a backdoor tax if you will...Like you pay for your carbon on planes???!!??!?! How??? Shouldnt the fatter person pay more?? But then that would be discrimination, and you would get sued...none of this sheet makes sense...

aerosol cans release chloro-florocarbons. chloro-flourocarbons react with the O^3 (ozone) and turn it to O^2 (not ozone). less chloro-flourocarbons = more ozone.

my organic teacher at fsu, 2001, said we still have enough chloro-flourocarbons left in the southpole to continue reacting for the next 100 years. this article said until 2065, so i guess he was slightly off.

Why the Ozone Hole Prompted Global Action.....

This isn't some sort wild goose chase or hoax. The problem is real and still remains to be an issue although the conditions seem to have improved since legislation was passed by the UN in 1987. It has not however 'gone away' or 'closed up'. Its not even really a hole as much as a major thinning.

I also find it a bit amusing that every time there is a cold front or a snow storm that blow through a region everyone who dismisses the idea of Global warming jump up and shout 'See its cold so no way the earth is warming!' or 'See its still snowing so no way the earth is warming!'. I mean come on.......

WHile one could make the case that the science is not done and conclusive when it comes to global warming, when it comes to the ozone, the science is pretty conclusive and there is no major scientific conspiracy happening here.

Also, your link doesn't really support your idea that there is no thinning of the o-zone.

The ozone hole still exists and is seasonal.

The largest hole ever observed in the ozone was in 2006.

Here is a excellent site on the ozone and has tons of info. I caution you guys though it is a govt web site so please use common sense when viewing the info.....you know how that damn govt info can be:wink2:

I got a comment saying my first entry on this thread was a rant which is unsupported, I could dee that, I do get mad sometimes when the govt plays us for fools, however I wont from an opinion about something unless I have laid eyes on it, or dealt with it directly...

Consider both of these ridiculous notions, the carbon tax, and cap and trade....my "rant" about carbon footprints on airlines was actually something that the airline industry was/is toying with...They "calculate" the footprints from A to B, and charge you for it, all the while that money goes to the gov't. This to me is just another form of a tax, whenever you pay an extra fee on something and said money goes to the gov't, it is a tax....The problem I have is it doesnt exsist, so why are they taxing, or trying to tax us on something that doesnt exsist....?? I guess my point is where does it stop, everything in life has a by product, so are you just going to get charged for every by product that you create?? IMO it is crap...

    http://cleantechnica.com/2010/02/04/carbon-tax-more-popular-than-cap-and-trade-with-us-voters/

samething with this, their govt is trying to make it seem this things take up more energy than the scoreboard in Dallas, when actually their state in bankrupt and needs all the nikcles and dimes it can get, so why not make up something, and charge extra for it....

    http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2009/03/california-tv/

Another one is I bought lawnmower last year, you know nice one from Sears, Craftsman....the same exact one in Cali was like 60 bucks extra, because they have a problem in California with smog, and you need to pay extra for it.....if it is such a problem why not ban it outright, they just charge you extra for it...

everything has a byproduct yes. The problem you are missing is some are more damaging to other systemsm then other byproducts. In this case cfcs caused a bad effect on the ozone. Everything from hairspray to chemicals used by production plants have slowly but surely phased out the use of these chemicals, so yes it is plausible that the phase out had a large enough effect that the hole in the ozone is now repairing itself.
