Fields is one of DC Nolan's "guys", he drafted him in SF and brought him to Denver, the Broncos have 3 NT types they have newly added, that could make Fields easily expendable in Denver.

Maybe if he was cut for monetary reasons. If this guy's cut for this incident, it means he's a consistent headache and his play isn't worth the headache. If this is just a lone incident and not a trend for him, he can prove a good player, and he won't be too expensive, he would be a nice addition. Especially considering he's only 28 but a veteran.

Well, the Broncos just added 2 NT types in Bannan and Williams, Floyd is sort of just hanging out in Denver right now and to me, it would make sense to snag him if he is not expensive to acquire, maybe this incident would be a good catalyst to get the ball rolling?

Nolan is apparently very active amongst the decision-makers. he has influence w/ the FO, if that's what he wants to do...

we have starks, soalia, fergy coming back in 8 weeks, mcdaniels and not sure if dotson(sp)is still on the team plus we picked up udfa who's name i can't spell plus odrick can play dt...where does one of these bronco guys fit in?he would just take reps that are already stretched by the four or five guys on the team.just dont see the need for it this yr especially if soalia steps it up which alot of peoplle here think he will.

Fields is 28 and IMO would have to be an exceptional talent to get them to deviate from the plan they have developed. I really believe they are convinced Starks is up to the task or they would have picked up someone in the draft.

always a good idea to carry an experienced NT on the roster.
Ferguson will be gone next year.
Nolan will know if he's worth the outlay & roster position

DL and OL are stacked. No room for another NT, ideally you want to carry two and a practice squad guy, we already have three sittin on our 53 man roster.

we have 3 experienced dt's in soliai, starks and mcdaniels.even with fergy gone next yr im hoping the light can come on for langford and merlin this yr then we could have the pleasure of moving odrick to dt to help the rotation of starks, soliai, mcdaniels, odrick and vince ohgaabase(sp).and if that light doesnt come on this yr for merlin/langford then we still have the first two guys with a pick up in mid round next yrs draft we should still be in a great position on the line.just don't see the need..we have other places on the roster that another dt would take up.

the light has been on for langford. he has started from day one but i feel you on merling  won't use the term bust but he hasn't shown much at all except well you know one big play.
i think we are loaded up front for now

yea merling will probly be one of the odd man outs of this group.not enough flashes from him for the amount of time he's been here.

not sure some of the guys here are realizing the numbers as well.we have 26 body's competing for the front seven alone...26!! thats 12 on the line itself and 14 linebackers which some of the lb's can also play on the line.that leaves 24 more bodys to make up the 53 man roster..subtracting from that number wont help by bringing in more front 7 players..especially when we could(not so much need)use another guy or 2 in the secondary..some including myself don't think it would hurt to bring in another t.e to hopefully upseat haynos, sperry or nalbone..havent even begun to talk about the cap situation.
