Its hard to have a long layoff then go up against one of the best defenses in the NBA.... I expect the Magic to win game 2 but can they win in Boston?
Gotta admit, that was excellent execution by Nelson on the tip in. Ray Allen doesn't miss here though.
Props to Section for winning the game spread. Wasn't a total loss for me. Got the 2nd half over and game under. Came close to the Magic -6 second half.
Magic thoroughly sucked the first 3 quarters. Hopefully they show more in the next game, now they have to steal one in Boston. I've never seen the Magic play that horrible.
Told yall about the REAL Celtics... 38-4 in the regular season when the starting line up is fully healthy.
and..... The Section126 annual NBA playoff stimulus plan...ROLLLLLLLLLLLSSSSSSSSSSSS along. is anybody riding me, or do you guys just hate money?
Don't credit the Celtics for the Magic having a horrible showing. That had just a little to do with Celtics defense. Magic just couldn't get it going, and finally came alive in the 4th quarter. We shall see the REAL Celtics and the REAL Magic next game
I find it shocking that the Celtics were able to go into Orlando and win a game in which they were thoroughly outclassed at every position. Unbelievable.
gonna watch the line for game 2 and play the Magic in Game 2. But that is 5-1 so far. (Last year was 8-1) I could not get the Lakers vs. Suns UNDER 5 1/2 games though. Bodog did not have that bet for this round. BTW, check out my prediction in the Heat thread before the season. Why watch the games? Just tune in to what ever I predict and forget about it. http://forums.thephins.com/showthread.php?t=39473 AHHH Life is good.
BTW...Rajon Rondo was TERRIBLE. PUTRID. But it is hard to beat that team when Ray Allen plays well. I would love to see their record when Ray Allen scores 20+.
Exactly... but I hate hate hate when fans discredit the opposition because their team played bad. On the flip side... KG, Rondo, and Perkins ALL PLAYED HORRIBLE. If those two get it together (and they will) and Ray Allen and Pierce remain hot, this series could very well end on Tuesday night. There is a lack of respect for the Boston Celtics and it's very misleading. This is the best team in basketball. Period.
All you need to do is read the last couple of pages from this thread to understand the reason I hardly ever post in here. Although I do enjoy Section's thoughts from a gambling perspective.
Agreed. When the Magic play... I post on RealGM. I'd expect it to be the same for others when the Heat play because I know that I am absolutely horrible.
Oh Ashraf..you wanted to know why i would like Orlando over the Lakers in the finals if it came to that? Very simple..the PG matchup will be waaaay out of whack in Orlando's favor and Bynum is playing hurt while Orlando has enough bodies to throw at Kobe. it will still be a price thing though.
Thanks. I knew you would bring up Nelson vs Fisher. I didn't know Bynum was hurt, though. Seems like he's ALWAYS hurt.
I don't have a problem with passionate posters (a category you clearly fall into, HD ) but I'm not sure I could accurately classify some of the recent posts in this thread. Asinine bordering on pure arrogance would be a good starting point I suppose.
Dude, you're my buddy 'cause you're a Canes fan and a Phins fan, but will you pick a team? Yeah, we lost today, but that doesn't mean it's over. We've got six more games to play. And I hope you're around to watch us man up........
Man, we got dibs on a payback. There's no reason for a Celtics/Lakers matchup until the Magic make it happen.
The only thing the Celtics proved today is that Orlando won't be 16-0 when they receive their trophy in June.
"Is that thing on AGAIN?" Celtics-Lakers NBA Finals are the either the worst reruns in TV history or the worst case of deja vu in psychological history. Magic-Lakers would be a nice Finals series, especially if the Magic have some momentum going in.
If the C's win in 5 can you still say Magic would be a better match up? Honestly I don't want to root for the C's but if their playing the Lakers I am a Celtic fan. I cannot stand the Lakers.
I have a team. I'm a Heat fan. I could care less about the Boston Celtics or the Orlando Magic. But I am also a fan of the NBA in general, so of course I'm going to stick around although my team is out of it... I still don't understand the reason for you quoting those posts of mine, though? One quote had to do with the Celtics/Heat series, which is clearly over. Another quote had to do with my belief that Orlando would end up facing off against Cleveland in the ECF, a series in which I thought Orlando would completely dominate. Another quote has to do with Game 1 (and Game 1 only) of the Celtics/Magic series... in which I did not once clarify as a "done deal" (the series) Never did I imagine a Magic/Celtics ECF, honestly, and now that it's here I believe Boston will prevail, but barely if they do. When the playoffs started, my bracket had Cleveland over Boston in 7 and Orlando over Cleveland in 6. I originally predicted Boston in 7 when this series started.
