Kicking myself for not taking Boston to win the series. Magic had just made me so much money before this series that it was hard to go against them.

I did watch the games, but what I was trying to say was Stan Van Gundy shouldn't be receiving all of the blame. Yea, they were down by 20 but if you did watch the games as you claim I did not, you would have obviously seen the Magic's body language nowhere near matched the hustle and heart of the Celtics which isn't Van Gundy's fault. And who cares if they were down by 20? I always thought the end result counted and in the end, they were right there. In game 2, if Vince Carter made both free throws(which a seasoned veteran should do) and Redick called for time as soon as he grabbed the board(which anyone with any basketball IQ would have done), then the Magic would have been down by 1 point with more than 6 seconds to score a basket or draw free throws. Again, my whole beef is when all the blame is being put on Stan and for what its worth, I don't see the Magic winning this series and MAYBE winning one game at most.

This. The media should be ripping him and not Van Gundy.

It is always hard to beat against an older team, that has won a title, and knows how to get it done.....it is a bet I wouldnt take either just for the sake of action...

Nobody is putting all the blame on SVG. NOBODY.

    But he DOES deserve blame.

Has any team ever gone 8-0 in the playoffs and then gone 0-4?

Is it just me, or everytime the game starts it seems like the Celts jump out to a ten point lead?

The Magic then try to play catchup but the Celtics don't turn the ball over very often and Orlando just seems to have to make EVERY shot just to compete.

Wow. As a Jason Williams fan, that was ugly. But as a gambler with money on the Celtics, that was beautiful!

Rondo is by far the best player on the floor when these two teams play.

Rondo, in my opinion, is the best point guard in the NBA.

Anyone notice that almost every other play, a Celtic's player is on the floor committing a flop? It's so pathetic how these refs give Glen Davis these silly touch fouls when he's about only about 30lbs lighter than Vince Wilfork.

Yea, Celtics do get a lot of calls. Still, they out hustled Orlando in every game this series, and made us look pathetic. I almost hope we get blown out because that's what a team with a pathetic effort like this deserves.

I'm not a Magic fan but yea I agree, lack of hustle is pretty evident on Orlando's part. Dwight Howard needs to seriously add some type of offense to his game otherwise he'll always be an elite defender but not an elite center.

Magic are -3 for the second half. I'm staying away, Celtics should still win but the Magic will probably close it to 10 or so.

I love how Rondo clearly shoved Nelson and he's shaking his head with disbelief yet I can recall 3 times already where Rondo flopped or did an acting job. Can't wait for the NFL season to begin.

Matt Barnes is another player that I'd laugh at if injured.

He catches feelings more than any other player in the league and gets really, really dirty when he does. Remember what he tried to do (yet failed) with Kobe?

    Know your role, scrub.

It's certainly debatable and I wouldn't bet against him. He does it on both ends of the floor at an elite level, and that's extremely rare. I think that's what sets him apart from guys like Deron Williams, Chris Paul, and Steve Nash. Obviously those guys have a better shot at taking the game over as a scorer if necessary, but none of those guys are even close to Rondo's level defensively. I'll tell you what... if he ever develops a decent mid range game he'll easily be the best without debate.

We know one thing, though, he's the best player on either of these two teams.

What makes him the best to me is his ability to shut down the other guy in front of him. Honestly, I'm not sure if Paul, Nash or Williams can do anything against him, but I know he'll have an effect on the game when they're guarding him. It's how he is. He just finds a way to make things happen.

He is, without a doubt, the best player on both teams. It's funny how Boston was close to trading both Rondo and Allen last year. Where would they be now without Rondo?

Rondo has not really shown what he can do, not only is he a PG, but he makes circus shots, and D's up, about the only thing he really lacks is a strong outside game.

I'd think the Lakers would give him the outside shot and just collapse on him with their bigs in the Championship series as this series is ovahhhh.

Cannot believe the Championship series doesn't start until June, truth be told I'll probably forget about it until someone bumps this thread..:D

Rondo has played well these Playoffs but lets not get carried away here. Rondo was up against Carlos Arroyo, Mo Williams, and now Jameer Nelson. None of those guys have half the game of the guys you mentioned.

Yeah, especially with what looks like two sweeps. I'm not sure what I'm going to do after the finals. There's nothing I want to watch until preseason.

You act as if he's only played well in the playoffs. This is what Rondo does. Not just in the playoffs, but every game.

In comparison to the players he purposely tries to hurt when he's upset that he's not up to par, he is.

Exactly, though I've chosen to watch CFL games, we are entering the time of year when it is baseball, and baseball, and more baseball.

Unless one is into the World Cup...and I'm just not..no contact, little scoring South Africa is what time zone again?

Thank God for the World Cup because baseball puts me to sleep... Almost wish the World cup was a yearly thing because of the July-September drought.

No matter how hard I try, I just can't get into baseball. Even going back to when I tried fantasy baseball.

If I'm in front of the TV and I see the World Cup final game on, I'll watch it. Won't make any plans though.

Same here on the World Cup, ESPN will push the hell out of the tourney, but it just is not worth the time to me.

I was a Braves fan for years, lost interest, but now they are beginning to appeal to me again.

He's doing well, but lets not forget whose wearing the green with him, 3 Future Hall of famers:

Ray Allen - Future Hall of Famer. Arguably the greatest shooter of all-time.

Paul Pierce - Future Hall of Famer and Oscar winner for best flops.

Keving Garnett - Future Hall of Famer and a GREAT defensive presence and solid offense.

Have you seen Derrick Rose play?

Yeah, because Angola winning 1 nil with maybe 5 shots on goal from 20 yds away is sooo exciting, and the RSA is what...4 hours behind UST?

A 5 pm game in the RSA comes on at 9pm on the East Coast..lovely.

This is sad, I'm so glad I've got a bottle of Jack Daniels at this point. To come this far in the year and then lose like this. Absolutely pitiful.
