And for those who like the idea of a Turner/Iggy pairing on the wing for Philly, well, they're essentially the same player although I do prefer Turner's potential to evolve. Iggy is good. Very good. I think Evan Turner can be great.

Bosh has apparently told Toronto he will accept a S&T to one of four teams, Miami, Chicago, NYK and LAL.

If the Lakers win a title I can't imagine them messing with a good thing. Ford's speculation is that Bosh will wait for LeBron to make a move and then ride his coat tails.

Bosh has given Toronto a short list of 4 teams he'd like to be sign-and-traded to if he doesn't stay: LAL, MIA, CHI, NYK.

    EDIT: You beat me!

Very bad for Miami if LeBron goes to Chicago; they have Deng & Hinrich to move.

Not sure NYK or LAL would have the pieces (LAL obviously does, but they'd probably be reluctant to move what TOR would want).

Hopefully LeBron chooses Miami, New Jersey, or stays in Cleveland.

On the flip side, although it's Bosh's say where he wants to go... Toronto could be more edged towards wanting to deal with Miami because of Michael Beasley.

Dwyane Wade, get the **** to work! Forget about LeBron. He's now your rival recruiter.

If the Lakers offer Bynum they will get him, no doubt. If not, then we're definitely the team with the best to offer of the other three in Michael Beasley. Colangelo absolutely loves Beasley, BTW.

The article is kind of contradictory where it says that Bosh has a list of 4 teams but is likely to follow LeBron. I find it hard to believe that Bosh has no preference between the 4.

He is going to have to make the decision eventually and then TOR will be forced to work out whatever deal they can. If he says I'm going to Miami, TOR has to deal with us. Problem is Bosh appears to be such a money whore that I don't think he has the stones to walk away from the 6th year to go to his #1 choice if TOR refuses whatever scraps they're given.

If the Lakers win the title, why mess with such a great thing? Is Bosh that much of an upgrade over Bynum? How would Bosh function next to Pao? I just don't see it.

    Talked to SOURCE today....

first of all...I got alot of "can't tell you anything about that". from him and basically was told that this is serious business and any newspaper stories that "break" about 'scuttlebutt" gets investigated by the league and the organization catches ****.

he told me that he would not tell me of any interest the Team may or may not have in any player.

But I did ask about certain players that are available....

Asked about Amare having a bad WCF...and what does that mean....

    Asked about Bosh...

Asked about the Joe Johnson, Rudy Gay, John Salmons comparison....
Asked about the draft and got very honest opinions based on actual scouting and actual inside info on some interest on a player...

    Asked about Andre Igoudala...

    Thanks Sec.

Bosh's attitude somewhat annoys me. Make a decision on where you want to spend the next 5-6 years of your life and have the balls to move even if TOR refuses a S&T. Does the guy not realize how different the weather/lifestyle/tax situation is in the 4 cities he's mentioned? How can he truly have no preference?

He's probably thinking "money is money." Which isn't quite true: taxes differ from state to state.

Sounds to me like Bosh just wants a big deal and doesn't care where it comes from. I don't like that attitude. Hope I'm wrong.

Problem is that Bryan Colangelo came out in the middle of the season while Toronto was 5th seed and stated that he personally will be open to doing a sign-and-trade with Bosh if he doesn't want to stay in Toronto. Colangelo went on further to state that it benefits all parties, as Bosh would make more money, Toronto would be compensated, and the team that gets him will get their guy. If my GM is saying that out in the open in the midst of a playoff run, then I'd have a similar attitude.

Before Colangelo started this all we heard from Bosh's own mouth is that he'd "love to play with Wade if the opportunity presents itself and it's the best available situation, but it's not 2010 yet so we'll see" in the summer of 2009.

Only thing I'll say about Bosh is that none of these "reports" are coming from his mouth, or his agent's mouth. I'm actually speculating that it's Bryan Colangelo himself leaking this info to stir up the trade pots. He knows he's losing Bosh, so why not convince Bosh that he can make more via sign-and-trade, since that is the only way he'd be able to get some talent in return for Bosh's loss? Well played, sir. He's an idiot for the Hedo signing, but he's playing this one very well... should get a nice young player and some picks in return for their superstar free agent, while watching Cleveland per say lose their guy for absolutely nothing.

I really don't see Bosh putting LAL on his short list knowing they don't have the money to get him without giving up some big time players. Colangelo is playing it very well by including LAL, though, as that obviously equates to Bynum's name being dangled. This forces teams interested to start discussions with names such as Michael Beasley (in Miami's case).

Having to use all of our chips to sign Bosh does free up the rest of our cap space.....so yeah..why not.

it is not my preferred situation..but if it must be that way......

Right. Moving Beasley to sign Bosh creates $5 million more that we wouldn't have if we sign Bosh outright. That turns the $8 million remaining after signing Wade/Bosh into $13 million. Adding our first rounder and Cook into the deal would enable us to sign a third max.

I don't necessarily have a preference: I want Chris Bosh on this basketball team at all costs excluding Dwyane Wade of course. (And LeBron James if he wants to come here)

Would be perfectly fine with Amare as the "main prize" though. LeBron, Amare, or Bosh satisfies me. Obviously two of those names has me dancing upside down on my ceiling, if possible... at the very least I wouldn't mind a Boozer/Joe Johnson pairing if all else fails. I think Joe has underperformed himself out of a max contract, and that's good for Miami. The things he couldn't do in order to keep his max status are things he would only be asked to do here if Wade is hurt. And if Wade then is hurt it doesn't matter because we wouldn't be going anywhere no matter what.

Wade + Bron/Bosh/Amare = title within the next three years. Wade + two of those guys, or along with Boozer/Johnson/Gay = unlimited.

Watching these playoffs, though, and seeing the difference that a guy like Kendrick Perkins makes as a role player... I think finding a true center has become somewhat of a necessity. I don't know if a SF is the third chip I'd like to add to Wade + Amare/Bosh. Perhaps Brendan Haywood, and re-signing BOTH Q-Rich and Dorell to man the three, or one of those guys in addition to a Mike Miller.

SF is probably the easiest position in the league to fill. Solid swings are traded all the time.

I would take Rudy Gay flat out over Igo. Iggy has what I call "Josh Smith disease" which is he takes way too many dumb 3's. Rudy also has more untapped potential and far less turnovers. Where Iggy needs the ball to be effective Rudy did just fine without seeing the ball much last season...after all you have to know how to play without the ball when you have Zach Randolph (aka the black hole) on your team. I would let Philly lie with that crappy contract. He signed a 6/80M extension last year that took effect last year. The contract averages 13.3M per year so he's got about 4/53M left. Keep Philly handicapped unless an offer for Rudy Gay is matched or someone else beats you too Rudy. Then and only then would I look at Igo.

The Lakers I think would consider moving Bynum for Bosh. It would virtually guarantee them the next few titles in my opinion because you'd be looking at a front line of Artest/Odom-Gasol-Bosh. I mean thats just disgustingly good.

Yeah he's much better then Bynum. He's a far more complete offensive player. Bosh is easily one of the top ten talents in the NBA. I would take him over Bynum or Gasol personally. He can play inside or out, handles well for a big, shoots a high percentage though he lacks help so I dont think he's performed as well as he could. Still hes been a virtual lock for 20-10 the last few years shoots around 50%FG/75%FT. His range extends near the 3 point line. He reminds me a lot of David Robinson...very quiet player and lost in obscurity in Toronto but once he gets some players around him you'll see how good he is. As far as centers go, hes 2nd after Howard and the only reason I put him second is cause Howard is a much more intimidating presence on defense. Still he's far more complete on offense.

That list of teams did come from his agent according to ESPN Radio and ESPN New York.

Here's the link for the Bosh story: http://espn.go.com/new-york/news/story?id=5208043

Chris Bosh's agent has told the Toronto Raptors that he's narrowed his list of preferred teams to five, two sources told ESPN.com's Chad Ford at the NBA draft camp.

    Bosh
    Bosh

The list of five teams -- Toronto plus the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat and New York Knicks, sources said -- was given to Toronto management in case the Raptors want to construct a sign-and-trade deal (assuming Bosh doesn't re-sign with Toronto).

And Bosh's agent denies the fact that there is any list of five teams:

The agent for Chris Bosh said Friday that there is no list of teams his client would except a sign-and-trade to.
Reports surfaced earlier today that Bosh had narrowed it down to five prospective teams (Bulls, Lakers, Heat, Knicks, Raptors), and we wouldn't be surprised if those are the five teams Bosh is considering. "I haven't closed the door on anything," Thomas said. "I haven't given Bryan any lists. There is no list. This is a process that is ongoing."

ESPN reporting that Amare staying in Phoenix is highly unlikely...

If Bosh wants to be a free agent hoe, then I'm fine with Amare.

I say offer them both contracts. Whoever signs first signs first and that's that.

Onto Haywood, J.J., Gay, Salmons, etc.

    Question.
    Hypothetically speaking.
LeBron meets with Riley. Riley talks him in to signing....
with a catch. LeBron pretty much tells him that wants to be the star, and will sign if Heat wont sign Wade. Then what?

This also explains why Tony Fiorentino wouldn't even talk about anyone not named Dwyane Wade in a recent interview with Rosenberg. He spent as much time talking about retired players as he did refusing to answer questions about active players.

What's the over-under on amount of chairs thrown in NBA HQ if LeBron signs with a team not named after underwear?

The agent may be denying it but BC is confirming it:

Raptors GM Bryan Colangelo confirmed that Chris Bosh has a list of teams he prefers, should Toronto pursue a sign-and-trade.
"It has been narrowed down to a handful of teams, including us," Colangelo said. He didn't offer any details, but initial reports suggest that Bosh likes the Lakers, Knicks, Heat, and Bulls. The Nets have also been mentioned as a possibility. A sign-and-trade would at least give the Raptors something to show for losing their franchise player.

NBA TV has the pre draft combine on now...it is 4 hours long.

They are doing measurables now...and it is not even close..I stand by what I said...the ONLY guy I draft at #18 (of the guys that will be there obviously) is James Anderson.

he has a real NBA body...his movement is sudden and powerful....this guy can come into the league and come off the bench and average 10 ppg. OR average 16 ppg as a starter.

He could be OJ Mayo. simple as that. No hyperbole.

    In two words... Juwan Howard.

Don't want that to happen again.

Trust me. Pat Riley is tampering and he's tampering heavily. He's the king of it. He did it with Brand & Odom. He did it again with Odom last summer. He's doing it right now with LeBron, Bosh, Amare, and God knows who else. But he's not an idiot. Won't get caught again.

Is it me or does everything about him scream douchebag? The other night during the draft he was blabbing how he will turn Knick fans in to Net fans. Guess he doesnt realize that even in 55 loss seasons the Knicks still rank in the top 5 in attendance and they always will because its always been a Knicks town. :wink2:
