I almost took the lakers tonight.... I am itching to take the Celtics for game 5. The only thing that bothers me is the 3 straight losses at home for a 59 win team. it is a tough nut to crack.
I think these *******s found out that I kinda need the cash..so they are delaying the inevitable. Pau Gasol is playing like he has a load in his pants. Bynum has become officially a BUST in this series. The guy is fragile. Nash has his face re-arranged and Bynum keeps grabbing his ankle...his calf...his shoulder....his knee.... he then does a spin move and dunks two handed. Give me a break. Bynum is a joke.
Gasol keeps expecting to get help from Bynum. You'd think he would realize that isn't going to happen and start playing harder. He's not even boxing out. Gasol almost got posterized just now.
They are not involving Amare AT ALL in the offense and Phoenix is controlling the game. What does that tell you?
Even tied up I'm still not confident in covering. Maybe if Kobe goes for 50+ because I don't see any attempt at playing defense.
Another guy that forgot how to play basketball. There was time when he was a deadly post up player and had one of the most efficient mid range games. Now..he is just Quentin Richardson.
As good as the lakers are.....and they might even win it all.. they need to re-tool the perimeter. They are slow and contribute nothing offensively...while Artest only contributes defensively and only against particular offensive players.
I'm not even going to get the over. FML. Taking Boston ML tomorrow. Orlando is going to win by 1 now.
Suns are not going to be intimidated by the "great" Lakers or the garbage the Media has spewed about them having no shot. I am VERY impressed with the adjustments Alvin Gentry does in the game. This Suns team is the most resilient team I have ever seen. Playing a Zone to answer the size of the Lakers... brilliant.
When I am on a losing streak....I embrace my inner degenerate. Chase the damn money. Feel the force flow through you Byroan. Submit to it;s power. You know you want to chase it. Take a deep breath...smokem' if you gottem...have a swig of Jack...and.. PLUNGE in game 5. SEND IT IN on the Lakers. I am readying my bullets to fire in both game 5's...after a brief hiatus..I am back in business.
Famous last words. nah..I feel good about both game 5's. Still can;t get past the fact that if you take Boston..you basically are saying that Orlando is going to lose 3 games in a row at home. bothering me a bit.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.. The Amare + Wade guy is BACK in the TNT postgame!!!!!!!!!!! Yes..we heat fans are obnoxious.
Im as big of a degenerate as their is but I still wont bet on BBALL regurlaly....It is thee most frusterating thing to bet on imo.
Very insightful nuggets from Charles Barkley..... "When the Phoenix Suns hit their 3's..they can score with anybody..." "If they Suns keep scoring the 110's..they are gonna be hard to beat..." "I don't know who is going to win this series...but I don't think the Suns can win in Los Angeles." (Think about that one)
Not even close. BBALL is the easiest to handicap. The NFL is for suckers and for people that hate money.
He has a hook shot and a running hook that work when he uses them. He just doesnt use them enough and he's too slow at times to make a move in the post. He still relies on his ability to just crash the offensive glass and rebound for his baskets. You get dumber just by listening to that dude. I told you that months ago in your rankings! His offensive game is just done, over, cya. He stands behind the 3 point line and chucks 3's. And hes not really good at it. He's too wide for his frame. Naw dude, football is the worst to bet on, especially against the spread. Basketball is just easy money. I paid for a semester of community college in like a month back in the day just betting on college and pro hoops. Even baseball and hockey are easier to bet then football from my experience
That is why I pushed him out during this season as well.... he is on the bubble now...and is threatening to be off the first page all together. very impressed with Amare tonight BTW...I know it was just 21 and 8....but he threw some elbows in Gasol's direction and had the european ready to put on the Gasoft Uni.
Either one is fine. Bosh is the better player. Amare is the better fit. Wade likes Amare better. Riley has tried to trade for Amare and tried to draft Bosh. If Bosh is going to play the Sign and Trade games and sell himself hoping to latch onto Lebron..I move on and go with Amare. Moving toward Amare everyday..with Bosh's diva actions.
Low basketball IQ? I've been around the game of bball, from playing and watching, longer than you've been alive. Ever heard of Hakeem Olajuwon, David Robinson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, or Moses Malone? Those are just a few examples of ELITE centers and anyone over the age of 10 knows that. I don't have the time to try to "convince" your Hanna Montana friends that Howard isn't elite. Howard reminds me of a more athletic Mourning(in his prime) with Zo edging out Dwight Howard on the offensive side. For you to say Dwight Howard is an ELITE center, well, your bball IQ is completely non-existent.
There's two three problems with your post: 1) Alonzo Mourning was an elite center. Thats not even up for debate. The guy just about averaged 20/10/50%FG/2BPG over his career with the last two years dragging it down post injury. 2) Instead of dissing Ashraf for being young, why not explain your point? You know better then to take shots at someone anyway but to act pompous about it is not only wrong but it just creates a back and forth he said/she said. 3) Howard is the best of whats around, especially defensively. You fail to take in to account that in Malone's era not every team had a 7 footer to defend him. Now every team has at least 2-3 guys that are in that range. The defensive end of the court has become more of a focus based on the contrast in play from the two era's. The way the players play as changed. Its changed from a finesse game to more of a playground game...whether thats good or bad is another discussion.
One more thing...allowing zone defenses means that they do not call "illegal defense" when you sag off to defend entry passes to the center. Which means that the center usually has to catch the ball away from the block.
Like Big E said, lack of other premier centers in the league so the word "elite" shouldn't be really used. When I think of the word "elite", I reserve that word for the all-time greats and it just seems like that word is tossed around like water now. Dwight Howard is a great center that is bogged down by his improved, but still lacking offense. If Dwight Howard is considered an elite center, then what are Kareem or Wilt or Russel or Hakeem considered? gods?
Like I said Dwight is the best two way player at that position in the league right now. Those other guys you mention are basketball legends. Hall of Famers and all time greats. A notch above elite.
I never said Zo wasn't an elite. All I said was Zo and Dwight had similar games on the defensive side of the ball with Howard being more athletic while Zo being better on the offensive side. (Zo is my all-time favorite Heat player BTW).
Eh, we'll just have to agree to disagree. It's like Lebron, he puts up crazy numbers but they're hollow numbers. But that's also for another discussion lol.
Thats different then what you insinuated above. We'll chalk it up to misinterpretation. Im not even a Heat fan and I feel Zo was an elite player.
You and I both man. After I said he was soft he said **** you and punched the Lakers in the MOUF Hopefully he keeps paying at this level.
and one hell of a guy. Well to everyone who doesnt live in New Jersey or Toronto. I also would like to predict a close out on the east tonight. I think the Magic keep it close, but I think losing the last game refocuses the Celts.
This... is also my stance on Bosh/Amare. Aside from the last part. I don't like the way Bosh is playing it as an outsider, but if I was Chris Bosh myself, hey, the way he's playing it will probably land him the much bigger contract (sign-and-trade).
