Holy shhh, you figure that one out on your own there big boy?

No worries. We outplayed you. We have to stop taking penalties and hit the net more. Take away Philly's power play goals and what, it is a 3-0 score after two games? lol

I kinda feel like WASH and PIT though. WASH and PIT outplayed and out shot MTL and lost, and we outplayed and out shot you. Oh well. We'll hopefully take two in MTL and go from there.

philly's got the hot goaltender right now and they are doing an excellent job keeping montreal out of the crease. meanwhile the habs are giving up some easy goals and areplaying a bit sloppy on defense. Game three will be huge. Montreal has to find a way to break the wall around philly's goal

habs are playing like they want to lose the series. in game 1 it didn't look like they showed up at all. i didn't watch game two but on the NHL ticker, but the score says that someone showed up somewhere to not allow 3 more goals in then they previously did.

so basically it's 9-0 right now goal wise and 2-0 in the series.

and you're trying to make comebacks?

Its my nature. I'm not worried. Montreal will put it together, if not, it will be a pleasure to watch either the Sharks or Blackhawks destroy the Flyers - like they would've the Habs probably too.

He who laughs last laughs longer.

    Keep it up....I'm loving it.

Hab s up 4-0 in the 3rd, the next game is massively important for both teams.

4-1 and we can come back from 3-0 in a series i'm not worried.

they've played fast, we've played slow, we've turned pucks over, and had bad penalties. by bad i mean they shouldn't be happening not that they're not legit calls.

habs can't do shutouts, screw halak

Flyers will be ok...they just need one in Montreal....if not, they'll take care of business at home.

habs played well last night. we played slow and stupid. they swarmed the net like bees and skated circles around us.

we have to check them and get physical and not do it in ways that's gonna cause us to be short handed and play from behind and crash the net. we don't have too many skaters who can go briere speed.. and they have a whole team of them.. good god they're fast

one in montreal is good, but after coming back against the bruins it ain't over til it's over.

Yeah I'm worried now, what do you think? Nice to see Carter back thiugh. MTL looked slow again. To win out they have to play with their hair on fire for three straight games.

Keep taunting man, it speaks volumes about you and it will be that much sweeter if MTL wins the series, or during PHL's inevitable loss during the Cup finals.

Ole ole ole indeed. You know, come to think of it, ahhhh, never mind. I'll wait for that one, we'll see what happens first.

Congrats to Philly, they played a great series and brought old school hockey to the Canadiens.

With that being said, go Chicago!!!

I'll be realistic and say Chicago in six, but everytime I have doubted the Flyers this season it has been the complete opposite. Hopefully that trend stays.

Yeah this is a crazy game, neither goalie was great before this series but they are going to burn out the light bulb behind the net at this rate.

This is far more entertaining than watching the Lakers blow out the Suns.

I think the NHL outlawed checking for this one.

one of the best game 1 hockey finals Ive seen. They are usually tighter as each team feels the other out but this was just nuts. It will calm down as they get more comfortable with each other but a great way to start the series.

BTW Lakers choking. Suns cut it to five points

penalties weren't called on both sides. i realize that the blackhawks had 0 power plays (there were a few instances where i thought they should have had one), but i saw several things on both sides that the refs let slide. at least it was consistent.

sloppy defense and **** man why do they have to skate at 90mph? hopefully the flyers start throwing their weight around and mow some **** down.

do it in 5, do it in 7.. hell, just do it.

Tough losing 6-5....but the game was in Chicago. It's still a Best of Seven though, and the Flyers just need to focus on Game Two. I never thought the Flyers would get this far so nothing can ruin this for me.

Not quite the Ole Ole song, but I like it. It has a nice ring to it. Not quite sure I'll get sick of this one after hearing it at least 15 more times.

Some good news for the NHL:

However I'm not a big fan of cheap scoring, the forechecking and dump and chase game appeals to me a bit more.

Some bad news, I've heard discussions that the NHL is going to try to mess with the game again.

    A few things in discussion now;

    1. Bigger nets.....again
    2. A different shaped net, not square, but rounded up top to increase the size up high
    3. A different puck design. Not the shape but the compound, something that doesn't bounce as much.

No link, heard Canadian commentators mentioning it.

Why don't they just leave the damned game the way it is?

Ah when you can't use your own teams song as a battle cry because you're out of the playoffs.

    Priceless.

Because the NHL cannot leave it the way it is, the league had a bump after the rangers won the cup in the early 90's, then two bouts of labor strife and the NHL is diminishing in virtually every metric Tone E.

Typically a league sells the broadcast rights for their championship broadcast and reaps a financial harvest, the NHL had to give the broadcast rights to NBC in exchange for a guaranteed airing.

That is a serious issue Tone E, add in the Three NY teams not being very good and that removes the largest media market for the NHL.

If you are Commish Bettman and see the highest ratings in over a decade while going against a NBA Conference Finals game, what conclusion should you draw from a 6-5 game?

I can deal with rule changes, but I can not tolerate making nets bigger or changing the puck compound. That borders ridiculous. It is bad enough that half a game is typically played either short a man or up a man.

I will be extremely turned off if and when they make the nets bigger or change the shape of it. Some things shouldn't even be considered. It's like making an NBA net bigger so there are more 3s, or making the NFL field wider so these new breeds of horizontal runners are actually effective in the NFL, etc.

PS. You don't have to use my full name all the time. Tone, T, and all that is fine padre31. :knucks:
