A push the way I see it, Bush's violation happened in 05, and was investigated for years, meaning USC made two years of Bowl Appearances in the interim while they were under investigation.

LA football just seems snake bit, Rams, Raiders, USC, for whatever reason they have problems keeping things rolling forward in a successful manner.

As a USC fan this just sucks. The kids have nothing to play for now for 2 seasons and Reggie Bush acts like he doesnt even care. Why do the students and players that were kids when this happened have to get punished? Take Reggies heisman away and I guess our National Championship but I just dont think its right to punish the athletes there now. Whats done is done. I love USC and will still watch and go to games but its gonna be a rough 2 seasons...:pity:

It's a loss of 30 scholarships, 10 each year from 2011 to 2013. Praise the Lord.

It's likely now that the BCS will strip USC of its national championship; less likely but possible is that Bush will be forced to vacate the Heisman he won in 2005.

    Praise Him!

I feel badly for you on a personal level, but this is one school that richly deserves what it is getting.

No one spoke out while it was going on, while Pete Carroll was grinding the program into dust while squandering the best HS talent in the nation by turning out young men with almost-universally poor character and work ethics.

This happened to UNLV basketball in the late 90's. They were amazing in the 90's and then they lost scholarships and probably 07, they started to be good again. So who knows how this effects them long term. Carroll left at the right time though

A loss of 30 scholarships is brutal. Justified but brutal.

    Well it's about time!

Feel bad for the college kids that have to suffer for the previous scumbags but it is what it is. This was justified and a long time coming.

Has there been a dirtier program in recent years?

To me, the NCAA should also hammer the Staff that allows this stuff to happen, as it sits now, the program takes the fall, the coach can sign elsewhere for megabucks and the beat goes on.

I've always liked the idea that some sort of sanction follows the coach. Obviously wouldn't matter in Carrol's situation, but it seems to me that the usually most culpable party, the head coach can basically take a cr@p in the middle of the room and then leave it for someone else to clean up.

Of course this will never happen.

My response to this is too complicated to type on my phone, but I like how the NCAA is punishing the wrong people.

Well, Carrol could/should face Sanction if the Seattle job falls through for him, why not a 2 yr suspension from being a HC in the NCAA? The same amount of time that his fmr program is facing?
