So I tried getting some info in another thread, but I only received one reply (thanks Sking!). I figure maybe I'll have more luck with a separate thread. Here's the deal - My father has a fishing camp way up North where he rents out small cabins. I want to build him a website so he can advertise his place on the web. For now , it just has to be very basic. I'd like to display contact info, pictures of the cabins available, rates, pictures of fish, etc. I don't even know where to get started. What are my first steps? There was some info in the last thread I looked at, but not enough for someone with my limited technical abilities. I think if I knew where to start, I could get rolling on this. I tried the wordpress website, but the instructions were very unclear on how to actually build the site, and seemed to focus on building blogs and message board type sites. Anybody here have any experience building a basic website like the one I'd like to build? I would really appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance!
godaddy.com you can purchase your domain name and use their very simple build a site tool called website tonite. The tool is free, the hosting is per month......about 4 - 8 dollars depending on how many pages you want. The domain name is your www.your name.com, .net, ,org, etc. you can even try different names to see if they are taken for free before you buy the name. you will even get email accounts depending on what you purchase. Take your time because they make their money selling you extras you don't really need. If you need any more help PM me. Gerry
Thanks! This sounds about like exactly what I'm looking for. I'll give it a try and let you know if I have any questions. If anybody else has any tips or ideas I'd still welcome them!
Phinvaders.com is a Go Daddy site, with the Website Tonight builder and using a template. Costs $4.99 per month, and the tech support with them is great. Its really easy to use. Check it out to see what $4.99 a month can get you http://www.phinvaders.com
