You gotta say that in your best attempt at an Arnold Swartzenager accent tainted with your english accent. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BANkMaLJaY4"]YouTube- "It might be a tumor"[/ame] In case you didn't get the reference but it is/was an overused joke and ppl still quote it here in the west, much like Arnold's infamous "I'll be back" line from Terminator. Section: Toronto has some crazy fans too, one corner is full of fanatics. Never been to a TFC game believe it or not, and several friends of mine have seasons, but I did got the WC Qualifying match between Canada and Jamaica. I was right next to the fanatical corner and it was an awesome experience. Nothing compares to QWest though. Can't believe they pack the Seahawk's stadium. I had no idea - I don't watch the MLS.
The US dominated the midfield, and hit about 50 shots off the posts, but the US got a BS foul in the box and Nam got a penalty kick. Another match we got screwed in.
Okay..found it. * July 16, 2010 – Glasgow Celtic, Toronto * July 21, 2010 – Philadelphia Union, Philadelphia * July 25, 2010 – Kansas City Wizards, Kansas * July 28, 2010 – MLS All-Stars, Houston http://soccerlens.com/manchester-united-us-tour-2010/43707/
And what a party it is too, I was in Germany in 2002 with the military, for a month on a field problem, and it was the same month as the WC, dude it was the best thing I have ever been too, and BDH I have been to the Yankee Parades, ALCS Game 7, all that...this sheet is what fandum is all about.... To think this WC is doing less for soccer in the US, is being naive...
Ese hijo de puta Blanco is la postalita mas comica en la historia del futbol'. Lo bueno es que ese comemierda se va pronte viendo come le ase falta una silla de rueda para poder jugar el partido. Par carajo con mexico.
Mexico is the New York Jets of international football. They think they are brazil but reality is that they are not as good as the US.
So France is down 1-nil.....and got a red card all before the 30th minute....guys I honestly would be shocked if they even came out for the 2nd half....they are a train wreck in the highest sense of the word...
Strike that 2-nil......simply a joke....Boom you must be loving this mate?? good for South Africa....good for the nation
They have clearly fallen from grace. Maybe the punk azz players should have practiced yesterday. Bunch of primma donnas. Practice? Practice? You calling me out because of practice? Practice? What is practice? Practice? Practice?
Has France been good since the 80's without Zidane? I think not. Just look at their record in all competitions with Zidane and then again without Zidane. You'll be amazed
The French have no shame. They screw over the irish...the least they could do is play their balls off. Instead...they lay one of the biggest eggs in WC history.
OT: I swear yesterday, I saw a guy on the Honduran bench who looks just like Barack Obama. Anyone else spot the dude? I'm not going crazy am I?
Yup, it goes: 1. Points 2. Goal Differential 3. Goals For 4. Head to head Since France made it 2-1 (on an offside goal), as of the 75' of both games it looks like this: 1. Uruguay PTS: 7 / GD: +4 2. Mexico PTS: 4 / GD: +1 3. South Africa PTS: 4 / GD: -2 4. France PTS: 1 / GD: -3 So right now, SA has to score 4 more goals because of the Mexico / SA head to head. EDIT: Really, Uruguay and SA have to score 4 more goals combined without MEX and FRA scoring.
Actually looking at it again, SA would advance with an equal goad differential with Mexico since they will have more Goals For - assuming they get their goal differential by scoring themselves and not counting on Uruguay.
Well..we are gonna "just miss" a CLASSIC Uruguay vs. Argentina matchup...but we get Mexico vs. Argentina..which is gonna be great fun.
Credit to South Africa, at least they gave it a go. Their performance in the last game killed them really. As for France, the less said the better.
To be fair, the French had a stunning team in the early 80's and were robbed of the final in 1982 with the most infamous moment in the tournaments history with the Harold Schumacher assault on Patrick Battiston. That Platini side won Euro 84 and then lost in the semis in Mexico 86. Typically it takes a few years for a generation of players to evolve from the ashes of a previous one which is what happened when they won the World Cup in 98 and then the Euros in 2000. The problem has been Domenech, issues of race, cliques and the FFF allowing all this to manifest under a truly woeful manager. There are many good young French players who won't be tainted by the aging group led by Henry, Gallas and Evra. They'll bounce back. But their utter implosion has been terrific to watch.
Just to be clear...The US has dominated Mexico for TEN ****ing years including a 2-0 World Cup victory in the round of 16. So the delusions....they are deep.
and if you want to go back 20 years...long enough of a time for you? The US is 13-8-9 vs. Mexico with the lone WC meeting going to the US 2-0.
I agree 100%. That's kinda what I meant. After Platini left they haven't done anything. When I said since the 80's I meant from 1990 - 2010, they've been awful without Zidane
France since 1990: I bolded the tournaments without Zidane. Everytime he's not on the team they didn't make it or didn't make it out of the first round. Everytime he is in the team they make it deep in the tournament. 1990 WC - Did not qualify (NO Zidane) 1992 Euro - Did not make it out of first round (NO Zidane) 1994 WC - Did not qualify (NO Zidane) 1996 Euro - Semi-Finals (ZIDANE) 1998 WC - WINNERS (ZIDANE) 2000 Euro - WINNERS (ZIDANE) 2002 WC - Did not make it out of first round (NO Zidane - injured) 2004 Euro - QF (ZIDANE) 2006 WC - WC FINAL (ZIDANE) 2008 Euro - Did not make it out of first round (NO ZIDANE) 2010 WC - Did not make it out of first round (NO ZIDANE) Out of 11 tournaments, he's bee on the team in 5 and they went pretty deep. The other 6 that he didn't play in, they failed to qualify or make it out of the 1st round
