Still find it more likely that Darren Collison is packaged with Okafor or Peja.

New Orleans would be really, really stupid to move CP3... for ANYTHING. I hope he's traded though, as a fan of his.

Also, someone fill me in on why Minnesota is trying to give away Jonny Flynn for absolutely nothing? Better yet, why are teams not jumping on that? They spent a top 10 pick on him last year and I thought he was pretty impressive for a rookie point guard not surrounded with much talent.

Not if NO doesn't get the right players to go with him. He could be like Allen Iverson was early in his career.

Oh man, if we get Chris Paul. But, who do we give up? We have no one interesting to trade.

Jameer never looks first. That's my knock on him. Watching games, you will see holes opening up and he just doesn't see them or anticipate them. I like jameer, but at point guard, he will never win a championship.

I agree. IMO, that's the one real reason they can't win it all now. Jameer is a nice jump shooter, but he is not a very good PG. It's the one thing they have needed for two years now.

Chandler is a damn fine player was well. Just ask Josh Smith how he likes having dunks rejected in the closing seconds. Beasley is extremely inconsistent though much ike chandler. The comment wasnt in relation to which player is better or worse, it was in relation to the value of the respective players neither of which is a star.

Cant figure that one out for the life of me. Flynn is a quick player who can play in a half court or up tempo game. he needs to improve his assist to turnover ratio but his jump shooting made strides as the season wore on and hes a solid leader on the court.

Got to disagree with you Nelson. While Paul is clearly a better player Nelson is a good player as well and you can win a title with him. The piece you really need to upgrade in Orlando is PF. Youre not winning a title with Ryan Anderson starting. The Magic need a Tyrus Thomas or someone like that who can block some shots from the weakside and help Dwight on the glass.

Also another raptors/t-wolves rumor from rotoworld...
The Raptors and Wolves have discussed a deal that would send Hedo Turkoglu and the No. 13 pick in exchange for Corey Brewer and the No. 23 pick, a source tells Hoopsworld's Alex Kennedy.
The Wolves are Raptors are going to be two of the most active teams this week, so expect to hear plenty of rumors like this. Brewer showed enough upside as a defensive-minded swingman last year that he'll be a piece teams want.

If the Magic are smart..they offer the MLE to Udonis Haslem and move Rashard Lewis to SF.

Im not sure. I know I would but I cant tell you what orlando will do. height and length win in the NBA so if you have a guy versatile enough at 6'10 to play SF and you can find an upgrade over Anderson at PF then you do it in my opinion. Anderson is a bench player on a championship team from what I have seen of him on the Nets and Magic. Hes a nice player offensively and he can rebound but offers little on defense. Orlando should look to take a bad contract who gives them a more talented player if thats what it takes...even if it means taking back a guy like Al Jefferson for example who has a lot of years and money due to him. In my opinion, that type of move would keep them among the top 3 in the east for a long time. More height and defense is what that team needs.

T Wolves and Grizzlies close to a deal according to ESPN. Pick 16 for Picks 25 and 28. Dont know why Memphis is doing it if it happens but its a great deal for Minny if it goes down.

I'd like that move. It seems like Haslem has been rumored to go to Orlando forever, though. And it just never happens.

That's because he wants to stay in Florida..and the Heat is obviously his first choice...but if they don;t come up with the money......then why not orlando?

The heat will be busy adding Amare, Rudy Gay, etc...Haslem will be on the back burner to get the scraps...Orlando should swoop in with a 22 mil for 4 year offer.

Bucks acquire Maggette.... this is right after John Salmons informed them that he will be opting out. I guess there's no chance he stays.

If the Bucks can stay healthy they should be pretty strong next year with a core of Bogut, Young Money, Redd & Maggette... they're still a scoring power forward away, but I don't like this deal for them at all. They were in perfect position to make a run at potentially a max player or two next summer.

They'll be paying Maggette over $10 million at age 34-35.

Agree though I question what, if anything, Redd has left after his second or third acl tear. He's never been very athletic to begin with and he played like poop when he's been healthy the last year and a half so I think they have to look at shooting guards as well as an insurance policy. They better at least find a backup who can start because with redd's injury history who knows. And Bogut may not be ready for camp. Jennings, Bogut and Maggette is a start and it puts them in better position then they have been in in a while.

Ive still yet to figure out why hes on the hot seat in the first place. You ALWAYS take the center over the small forward in the draft (referring to Oden-Durant decision) because wing players are simply easier to find. He got Roy, Batum, and Aldridge. Bayless we knew was a project but you had to take the chance. Just dont get where the heat on him comes from. Ill take him as my GM in the post Donnie Walsh era no problem.

    The latest nuggets from rotoworld:

    - Eddy Curry has officially opted in for 11.3M next year which means he can now be dealt as an expiring deal.
    - Wizards looking for another first round pick.
    - Jordan Farmer wants a starting gig somewhere on July 1.
    - Blake Griffin working out at 100%

    And finally....

Orlando Magic GM Otis Smith said Tuesday that the Magic have not inquired about Chris Paul’s availability.
News broke earlier in the day that the Magic were one of a handful of teams who had contacted the Hornets about Paul’s availability, but Smith said "Nope. It’s the first I’ve heard of it." We’re not sure if this reflects negatively or positively on Smith, as you would think every GM in the league would be calling the Hornets to see what it might take to get Paul. Jameer Nelson is an adequate NBA point guard, while CP3 is a superstar.

i agree with everything you said...especially batum. he is my second favorite blazer and closing in on roy. he was such a steal..anyways i don't know what happened but i think paul allen wants to get out of the first round and some stuff happened behind the scenes that we will never know....he threw allen under the bus a few times as well but which allen and his seattle geeks didn't like.

Jordan Farmar will be gone from L.A. Chances are that Shannon Brown will opt out for more money and thus, be gone as well. Adam Morrison will most likely be elsewhere too.

T-Mac has shown interest in joining the Lakers, but who knows if he will take a portion of the MLE. Something that Kupchak seems reluctant to spend this offseason. ALthough they may have to spend at least part of it on a pg like Blake or Ridnour.

Trust me the rumor is bogus. Kahn shot it down. Why would we give up Flynn for nothing? If McFail was still the GM yes I would buy it but trust me Flynn is going anywhere for that price.

Bucks having a busy day...CDR for a 2nd round pick

The Milwaukee Bucks will reportedly give the Nets a second-round draft pick for guard Chris Douglas-Roberts, according to Yahoo! Sports.
If it happens, and we think that a second-rounder is a very low price to pay for CDR, the Nets will hold the Nos. 3, 27, 31 and whatever pick they get from the Bucks for Douglas-Roberts. And if the Bucks set Michael Redd free as expected, CDR could make some noise at shooting guard in Milwaukee next year.

Now that's a much better deal for the Bucks. I like CDR. He was playing really well the first half of last season if I recall, then he just fell into the sophomore slump. I don't really know what happened.

Solid young core for Milwaukee... they really need a scoring PF to compliment Bogut and they'd be good.

    - Tiago Splitter expected to sign with the spurs...5 years/25-30M is what rotoworld is reporting.
    - Nets looking hard at Wes Johnson because feel Boozer or Lee can be had in FA. Also rumors they like Greg Monroe and could deal down
    - Pistons like Ed Davis and Cole Aldrich

    And lastly....

Jalen Rose posted on Twitter that LeBron James will most certainly leave the Cavaliers this summer.
He lists the Heat, Clippers, and Bulls in parentheses, presumably as James' preferred destinations. Rose's source is not specified.

Get ready for a full month of everyone and their sister saying things like this. There is no repercussion in the media for being wrong. I highly doubt Jalen Rose would be the first to know over many other, more well connected, media members.

(Yes, I am a Cavs fan, and, yes, my panties are in a bunch. Bron will probably leave, but Jalen Freaking Rose won't be the one to break the story.)

Totally agree...if anyone on espn breaks anything it will be chad ford or mark stein.

According to an NBA executive, the Knicks have shown interest in acquiring Blazers guard Rudy Fernandez.
Fernandez has expressed his displeasure with his role in Portland recently, hoping for a larger role within the rotation. If the Knicks were to trade for him, they'd likely have to part with one of their younger players like Toney Douglas or Wilson Chandler.

What was "Melo thinking not opting for the shorter deal to be a part of this FA class?

First, he misses out on all the fun (he'd be my top choice for the Heat if he were available, above LeBron), second, he's not eligible for the 6 year extension so he either has to take an extension maxing out at $60 mill now or sweat out the new CBA.

    He should fire his agent.

Everyone says they are close to Bron these days. World Wide Wes is supposed to be the puppet master - and he has said that a team would have to trade for Chris Paul and hire Calipari to have a shot at Bron. We see how thats all working out.

    - CDR deal is official..goes to Mil for a 2nd. Cap dump for the Nets as CDR was in 2nd year and had to be tendered I believe, taking up cap space. Not sure Nets liked his attitude.
    - Kentucky C Daniel Ortons stock falling, could end up in rd 2. WOuldnt mind him at 38 or 39 for the Knicks
    - Kobe wants LAL to sign Raja Bell
    - Mike D'Antoni on ESPN 1050 right now....he wont get caught up in Lebron chatter. Basically loves Gallo and Chandler. Donnie definitely working on some things. Wants players who want to win not just here for the money. Very bland interview, understandably cant say much though.
