I don't even want to know what's going on around here because it's none of my business.
I do know who's who around here and about the "niches",cliques and what have you that go on here also.I have been lurking around here since the beginning if you haven't noticed.The point is feelings are(were) hurt and everyone needs to just forgive and move on in with this matter.Just
like a couple who have been together for a long time,disagreements and bad words are going to be said once in a while.This isn't High School or Drama class.We are all Dolphin fans and we are at the site because of that reason first and foremost.Don't worry about the little things.

This site has been rock steady with unmatched quality since Muck and Celtkin opened the curtain in Nov 07'. I never understood why some would abandon THIS site and peers HERE, when issues were elsewhere. Those guys are unwavering and do an incredible job of holding down this fort while allowing for personal expression. Their vision has never been compromised.

I fully understand where you are at, my friend. I have time to spend on two sites. This one is for the Dolphins, the other is for my gaming passion - War in the Pacific. This site is one which has developed into a Band of Brothers (and Sisters) feeling as we wade through the season, the off season, and life with each other. And as you go about your walk through the rest of life, and on this board -

No one blames this site as a whole sam. It was the fact that everything that was being written was by people who came here, read and then went back to post their junk. And yes, it was un-comfortable knowing they would do this, so who would want to post.

I have never had one un kind thing to say about Mal, George or any of the admins or mods here. Nor, did I boycott the site. I stayed away because it was just easier than wondering if I should even post anything.

I've gotten over most of it and I'm fine.

I'm glad my comment on being childish was not in vain sam. And I'm not complaining, just stating the facts as I saw them. Nothing more-nothing less. Everyone should have their own opinion and views.

 

If you two havent buried whatever existed between you two, please do so. Youre both great members of the site.

People have disagreements—it happens. All. The. Time.

Let me say this: after 5 pages of this, I still don't know what the hell is going on - but it seems like people got their feelings hurt. Again. For whatever reason.

It's been my experience that when someone genuinely hurts your feelings, more often than not it is inadvertent; a product of a careless but innocuous remark, something like that.

The point is, if you get your feelings hurt, CONFRONT THE PERSON WHO HURT THEM. Your feelings are YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

But if YOU start a fight, don't get pissed when you get your *** kicked.

There...those are pretty simple rules, right?

All kidding aside, I have no problem with what is stated above. In fact, I am pretty much a lurker at most message boards at this point (lousy life getting in the way), even the ones I help run.

I DO think that what was said about some of the members here was chalk filled with hyperbole and over the top humor. Were their nuggets of truth and strong opinions towards one another? Sure, but its the nature of the beast. If you go to that website, you will find that it is essentially confined to one thread, on a message board that contains thousands (granted half of those are started by spam-bots, but we fired Lucky and that was his job to clean up).

The point being, that if one chooses to focus on ONLY the negative of that site, it makes it awfully easy to bypass the positive stuff we have done.

For example, no one even acknowledges that we promote this site whenever possible and made a concentrated effort to make sure we continue to post here and not abandon the place (the majority of the posters over there came from the lounge/other sports sub forums). And we barely got credit for stopping terrorism and curing juvenile diabetes...

 

God, no T-Pain please. He's one of the worst artists I've heard.

 

I know brother, and i'am sorry for coming across like that, I spoke out of place before i knew all the info...I love this freakin site, and of course brothers and sisters can do what they want, Iam just selfish, because I dont post anywhere else, and I want all the people I like to make this their home...we've come so far, were too close ya know, and I see how we protect each other..

This whole bloggin thing is just football and friendship to me, Ive got to realize that intelligent folks need to express themselves in other forums.

 

Ok, I don't know what is going on and I don't know if I want to know. All I am saying is that I love this place. You guys have treated me with more respect that most people I have met in my entire lifetime. I may not post everything that everyone enjoys and I do search every type site available to get my information but I try to make sure that everyone gets their daily Dolphins info. I also try to make sure that everyone who responds to my post regardless if they like it or not to know that I appreciate them posting.

Anyways, I am a friend to everyone here so if someone wants to talk to me to about anything I am here. PM me or whatever I am here to talk or to just listen. I don't judge people because I feel that is God's job and not mine. I may not understand you or agree with some of you but that doesn't mean I don't respect you. If I have in anyway disrespected you please forgive for that is not my intention.

I'm sure I confused everyone in here with what I said compared to what it was really about....lol but I think ya'll get the point.

I honestly wanted to let you know, i feel your one of the best posters on this entire site. everytime you post its helpful, informative and has tons of substance. this site is better with you apart of it! I respond to a thread thinking it is about a brother wanting to expand and extend branches of peace, rebuild some bridges or taking a walk about just to see what's out there and two days later I find that some one has crapped in the middle of the living room and I didn't even see it. How blind am I? As we all stand around looking at (and smelling) this pile in the middle of our living room in amazement, some of us have ventured on because of it. I knew that some of us were no longer regulars,(that happens, people move on) but I had no idea they were leaving because of the atmosphere here. This is home, our home and our brothers and sister are not happy here. What the hell is wrong with us?

This site was created as a result of a fascist and over zealous owner at our previous home. It was created to allow creativity and diversity and to allow us all to grow together as more than just fans of the Great Miami Dolphins. We have a lot of diversity here. We have heated emotional debates. We agree to disagree. Some of us, as stated earlier, have actually bonded out side this site. I don't know what was said by some of here and really don't care, even if some things were said about me. Everyone is entitled to think what they will, even about me. Was it chicken **** to be one way here and another on another site even in the name of good fun, yea. But we all do stupid things from time to time. Don't know if what was said was actually meant or a way to vent without dealing directly with the party/s in question. Don't care.

Sam I ABSOLUTELY respect you and your opinions, they tend to be spot on. You and Chris are very knowledgeable fans as well. But there is a responsibility when we make public our views of another even if meant in jest or for the sake of humor. If something is said about another and they feel ambushed or turned against by the manor of how it was done, there are going to be hurt feelings weather intended or not. I think you guys are very creative and truly humorous, but a bit of fair warning would serve you better in the future.

As for this mess, this is my home damn it! I intend to fight for it and all that consider it home as well!

Now I'll get the paper towels and air freshener if some else will get a trash bag...

 

ok...someone needs to explain the meaning of this thread to me I guess. I am getting mixed signals about it. I am getting a vibe that once AGAIN a site that some of us go to vent and actually have the testicles to say whats on our mind about things is rubbing people the wrong way? If you cant take the heat stay out of FH! We are REAL friends over there! Almost all of us have had actual contact outside of the internet that seems to run some peoples lives! I will not apologize or show any remorse for speaking my mind amongst my fellow friends on a site meant for that sort of thing. We respect this site and its posters enough to take it elsewhere, and most of the time we INVITE the people we are in disagreement with to settle our differences with humor. If we offended anyone or certain members of this site dont like us for what we post, oh...well....

I do appreciate everything John has given to this site, as well as Muck and Celt, and Griddles(OH WAIT........) and everyone else who's name I cant remember.

E-Drama is just as pointless as normal drama, chances are most of us forget half the stuff we post here so why hold grudges? Most of the posters here are good people and I bear no ill will towards anyone. That last thing being said Imma go burn some vodoo dolls(that is how you stop the curse right?)

Never burn any bridges, afterall, what if you left your wallet on the other side of that bridge?

 

I must be missing some things, I had no idea people were upset or what they are/were upset over. I had no idea anyone left this site, or why. I have noticed some less than stellar arguments and wondered why the mods allowed it, but was never involved so didn't give it much thought.

This is distressing, this is my family and home, it was painful to leave FH 2 years or so ago, but quickly this became home for me and I never go back, only because I just love it here and love the family of posters here. If we have lost Marty, Deb, Alen, L2G that is a very sad loss, I care deeply about all of them.

I fail to understand why posters would get nasty or mean to other posters over an argument, we all love the Dolphins, and will all have our own opinions about players, coaches, the team, the FO, et al, but everyone has the right to their own opinion and each of us MUST respect each others opinions whether we agree or not.

Besides, I'm the only poster on here who is right ALL the time

Hell is a nice place to visit but not sure I would want to live there
We have been told throughout history it is a bad place but a fun place.

 

We haven't "lost" any of those people. L2G and cnc needed some time to themselves that being a mod simply doesnt allow you to have if you handle the responsibility right. L2G also had some personal stuff to handle. He still frequents this site and one other..he was here as recently as the 15th when I heard from him. Deb had an incident off this board where someone from this board spoke in a less then flattering manner about her but thats been ironed out it seems. And Alen...we wouldnt let him leave

 

I'm late seeing this thread. And I appreciate John's kindness, as always.

John stepped down as Admin about six months ago. So this isn't a new development, and I never had a problem with it. We all have our own lives to live.

With that said, I'm a little fuzzy on some things. I wasn't aware of any problems between any sites. The fact that we don't talk much has nothing to do with any animosity. It's simply because we have separate lives to live. Trust me, I've been to the Webbies all six years. The last two....which I attended for this site.....were the funnest of all. Most folks are pretty close with one another.

There are other sites out there that have problems with one another. Sites who've split and folks who've never gotten along. I know because I talk to just about everyone, ever year. And a lot of us speak over email throughout the year.

Whatever problems went on between this site and FH pretty much ended about two years ago. I shook hands with those guys in 2008. We've both got enough on our plates to worry about at home. We do our thing, they do theirs. It's really not a big deal. I don't visit FH or really any other site because this is the only one I'm interested in or have time for.

And quite frankly, I never had a problem with our URL being in the profanity filter at FH because I was fine with much of that membership not knowing we existed anyway. No offense intended, I'm just being honest. We relished the opportunity to start brand new, clean slate. And we were lucky enough to have numerous standout members join up from the jump. You enabled us to hit the ground running. You know who you are.

I thank all of you who've offered kind words in this thread. While I've never been one to dwell on who comes and goes, I do feel a sense of pride in that you have chosen to be with us. That you have built an ecosystem for which we can be proud of.

Malcolm, myself and the rest of the staff thank you for the love and support. We'll continue to try and earn it.

The reason John "left" has nothing to do with this site. It was because of a grievance he has with some of our members and what they posted at Fanhell.
