That game was the ultimate tease and heart breaker. Down big all game, Chad Henne leads us all the way back in the 4th quarter with the big play being Brian Hartline's circus catch down the field. Only to send it into OT and give the game away. Ugh.

I was there... 14 rows back on the Dolphins side. Nice day, good comeback, heartbreaking ending. I can't wait to fly down to Miami and see the Phins redeem themselves at the expense of the Titans in November!

The Henne interception sucked but if Greg C just goes up and touches the guy instead of hitting him while he is on the ground we had a better shot of stopping them. That personal foul penalty put them automatically in FG range.

Me too man on the 35 yard line about 20 rows from the front. Was badass! Jason Taylor and I did a simultaneous 3 foot jump when we won the coin toss. :D

:pity: Kid overcame an 18 point deficit, his own mistakes, and the mistakes of his teammates (Ricky). All on the road vs a good team, w/o his best offensive player, or any threats to speak of on the outside. I know he threw three picks, but aside from the Jax, NYJ (home), and NE (home), I think this was his best performance of the season.

Its one thing to hide behind your defense and running games, like some rookie QBs from USC tend to do. Its another thing to go out and throw 40 times into the teeth of a defense that knows you have to pass, and then still have success.

Look at the pass that Henne threw to Ricky in the endzone that was picked off. Look at the last two VY TD passes. If Henne makes that throw the way VY made those, then thats likely a TD.

Thats not necessarily taking anything away from Henne, because VY made some great throws in that game, and outplayed Henne IMO. I don't think Henne was necessarily bad though.

I agree, the pass to Ronnie wasnt Chad's best work. All I can say is, where was Chad's Nate Washington, or Kenny Britt? Even a Justin Gage would've nice to have around. And where was Tennesse's Gibril Wilson? That was Chris Hope ( a Seminole) covering Ricky. Bad matchup for us, but where else could Henne have gone? Hartline/Cam vs. Finnegan? We abused Nick Harper for most of the game, until they started rolling coverage his way, but in the redzone, someone has to win a close quarters matchup, and given our potential targets, I dont exactly envy Chad's options.

The first TD pass on the post, we're in Quarters coverage, Nate does his job with outside leverage, Gibril has the inside, and even though the ball is in the air FOREVER, Mr. 5 yrs 27 million lets it go right over his head for the TD. Awful. The other two VY passes were great throws vs. a rookie corner who was playing man w/ no safety help and no pass rush. There are only a handful of corners who couldve done any better than Vontae on those two plays, and most of the QBs in the league can make that throw. Its not VY like is known for his pinpoint accuracy.

Im not making excuses for Henne, but facts are facts. He didnt have any WRs who could beat man coverage (down the field) or serve as a reliable red zone target. Correction: LAST YEAR he didnt have any WRs who could do those things, I'm sure we're all anxious to see what our boy can build now that he has some power tools to work with.

I was at that game too. I stayed on the ledge on the second level. It was fun. 30 feet from the bathroom, beer, and food stands. :) Next time I go to that stadium, I'm going to get the cheapest ticket I can find and just go right back to that ledge. It was a great time. I wish I had seen the replay though.

    Well away from here
The thing to really take notice of in preseason and even early in the season is how Henne has learned from his mistakes last year, and the ones he will very likely make to open this season. After all, he will need to play 3 games just to have a full season's worth of football under his belt.

The big thing for Henne is touch on his passes and his ability to move in the pocket and to scramble a little bit more often when the opportunity comes. Sometimes, the best way for a QB help slow down a pass rush is if they know you can for a first down. If he can do more of that this season, it will also help both him and the offense overall.
