That 122 yd return is the difference in the game right now. I'd bet the ratings for this game will be really high for NFLN.
Chris Getztlaaf with the long reception inside the Alous 50..I seriously thought he was going to take it the distance.
No kidding, this was a classic CFL game played by two professional teams. Sasky wearing Jest green really puts me off of them..bleech!
**** NFL Network (Comcast) didn't show this game live in the programs listing so I didn't bother to check. Now I'm flipping through and see it on NFL Network HD.... "NFL Total Access" on the programming of course. Looks like a lot of fun though. Will watch OT.
What an outstanding game this has been. While I have access to every game on TV here in the great white north... Im glad this is the first of the broadcasts on NFLN... at least it shows the CFL really is football. Damn entertaining football at times too
OMG... i cant believe Sask just got nailed for too many men on the field... Same way they lost to Montreal in the Grey Cup last year... I can't believe it may cost them here too
Why are they kicking the FG on 3rd and 10? Sorry, virgin CFL'er... this is my first time ever viewing.
GO ALS! I can't believe the Riders made the same mistake.... AGAIN! Too many men on the field, that would kill me if I were a fan of the Riders. Also, incredible catch in the endzone. Get him on the Phins, haha.
Only 3 downs in CFL. Also, the kicking team can score 1 point if the missed field goal or punt is downed in the end zone or goes out of the end zone.
Wow, bigtime catch by Dressler there too... holy smokes... this game keeps gettin better and better. Shame it has to end.. and end it has... wow. What a game.
Man, disappointing loss for the Als. Great catch by Dressler at the end, and a fantastic game to kick off the season. Can't wait for it to end with Montreal winning another Cup though!
Eskies were down 21, and come back to win 54-51... hows that for a football shootout! Now its time to watch Cleo Lemon and the Toronto Argo's
Thanks for the clarification on the rule(s) guys. I only got to see the game tying TD in regulation and OT but wow that was really fun and exciting! Gracious to Padre for starting the "CFL/NFL Network" thread because I'd of never paid any attention to it. I'm definitely going to try keeping up with the CFL now.
Some games are better than others, but what I love about the CFL is..it looks like Football, guys making plays, blitzes, no nets in the Endzone, replays, it just reminds me of what football should look like. Hopefully the idea that the CFL is one step ahead of flag football and filled with guys who...just...cannot play the game at a high level is put to rest. Small wonder Cam Wake did what he did in his first yr, ditto Stefan Logan, they weren't seeing anything different when they came to the NFL.
In the CFL being the #3 means very little as Qb's get pulled or injured all of the time. And one other difference in the CFL..no fair catch rule, but the coverage team has to allow a 5yd bubble for the returner.
So I had been eagerly awaiting watching my first CFL game last night, my interest piqued thanks to Padre and this thread. I ended up remembering too late last night so I watched the reply of the Alouettes and Roughriders this morning. I had seen that someone won in overtime but didn't see which team so although I knew a comeback was coming, I had no idea who would win so still exciting. What a game... The comeback, the too many players on the field penalty considering the Grey Cup game, the overtimes, the catch; great stuff. Oh and that block on Kornegay, ouch! I thought the Argonauts might be my team with the colors, team name, and a QB I recognize. Watching the start of the Roughriders game though I saw them talk about Darian Durant as the starting QB, had no idea he was in the CFL. I'm a UNC fan so cheered for him in college. First quarter I just watched, by second quarter I was yelling and cursing at my laptop like any other Sunday in the fall. He played good and was exciting to see him using his feet out there. Didn't take long before I learned the other offensive skill position names. It's official, I'm hitching my CFL wagon to my Tarheel Darian Durant and the Roughriders. I play with Jacksonville in our Madden franchise on this site and just learned today that Justin Durant is his brother, learn something new every day. Alex Brink was my backup QB in season 2 of that same franchise, see he plays for Winnipeg. Will try to catch the live stream of tonight's game if I remember/not busy. Hoping PS3 browser can stream tsn.ca so I can just watch on my TV.
Well tonight's game features Winnipeg vs Hamilton, WPG have two top notch players in Phil Hunt and Adarius Bowman. Hunt was top 5 in the NCAA in 2009 in sacks Bowman was the Wr that Crabtree replaced, he messed up his predraft period with a bad urine test for MJ and a slowish 40 time, his hands are inconsistent but he can be a real beast.
