"Crowder has just 2.5 sacks, one interception and three forced fumbles in five seasons. Dobbins had a sack, an interception and a forced fumble in just two starts last season, along with 55 tackles in 14 games.

The Dolphins, recognizing Dobbins' ceiling, cut serviceable veteran inside linebacker Reggie Torbor and gave Dobbins a two-year contract extension that includes more than $3 million in guaranteed money."

I don't expect Dobbins will be the type of player where you will hear his name every game...But I do expect he will be the type of player that when you do hear his name, it will be for a big play.

I believe Dobbins is a hard worker with a nose for clutch plays, almost a mini-Dansby. These are guys that will excel in Nolan's D.

I respect the Patriots as good solid competition but I just hate Bill Bel-a-cheat. You will notice that once the camera BS exited so did the super bowl appearances. I have always thought that the NFL went entirely too light on him. When you weigh into account the millions of dollars of ticket sales and other revenue that were lost due to the cheating you have nothing more than corporate fraud on your hands. Apparently corporate fraud means nothing in the NFL. That investigation should have gone back at least through all the super bowl years, and IMHO they should have thrown Bell-a-cheat out of the league. Before Mangini blew the whistle on him the Packers did the same the season before but nothing was done about it. That send the message to every team that they can do the same without issue. (sorry to get so far off topic)

no brainer: Dansby. Crowder, then Dobbins, Edds w/ McCoy to the practice squad
    however
let them compete, you never really know until they go head to head

    LB Reggie Torbor (released/failed physical).

Why is Torbor listed that way, what did "failed physical" mean? Not that it matters at all... but it's July and I'm bored.

Excellent report indeed, very in-depth especially discussing the position changes on the D Line and the battles on the O Line. Tired of 90 second blurps about just Marshall & Dansby and losing Taylor & Porter.

While I share your hatred for Beli-cheat. I can fully understand why the NFL did not probe further. In the end, the NFL is a business, and not just a business, but one that relies on fans love of the NFL legacy. You institute a huge black mark over the Patriots dynasty for that period of time and it seriously takes something away from the juggernaut that is NFL history. Given how much I love this game, I'd rather not have that. Having said that, a one year suspension of Beli-cheat would have been nice.

i totally agree to me its pointless to take away a 1st pick when you have another pick thats even better than the one taken. the league should have taken both 1st rd picks gave SF their pick back. gave the rams the pats origional pick, fined the owner and bellicheat and then susppended bellacheat for the first 6 games. then maybe id be happy

    I disagree.

Polishing Thiggy's shoes is exactly the kind of role Sparano should consider for White. :wink2:

I would just love to see Pat White do something incredible to shut everyone of us up (including myself) and I really hope he does, but until then he will remain reminiscent of Sammy Smith. Smith was another multi-talented first rounder that we drafted (9th overall) in 1989. They hype was incredible and we all thought he was going to be chicken salad, instead he ended up being chicken sh*t. Shula quickly dumped him to Denver were he was cut the next year never to be heard from again. Unfortunately Miami is known for drafting first round busts.

I don't want to see this happen to Pat White - but - the clock is ticking because his expectation level was higher than an average player. Expectation is as tricky as reputation, both precede you and neither are often accurate.
