Dude, the last Spider Man was three years ago. It was a massive box office draw. And they're already 'rebooting' it? At least with Batman it'd been what, eight years? And the last couple sucked and didn't draw 'that' huge. Granted, it'll be 5 years and the last one sucked. But it just seems like it's a little too soon. And they had planned to release Part 4 only a year prior to this target date. Hopefully it's awesome like Dark Knight.
I've been saying this since I heard about the reboot months ago. It makes absolutely no sense to reboot now. When the Hulk franchise was rebooted, it was definitely needed since the first one sucked balls. But the recent Spidey trilogy is a very good trilogy, and still pretty fresh in everyone's minds.
tell that to the investors: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spider-Man_(film_series)#Spider-Man_.282002.29 It's made just under $2.5 BILIION worldwide.
Well...look at what they did to the Hulk. They did two different movies just a couple years apart and they both sucked.
i really didnt like the spider man movies and im not sure a reboot will change what a lot of people dont like. imo, the only thing cool i know about spider man is the costume and abilities. my problem is peter parker. i have a hard time liking a dweeb. maybe the real peter parker isnt a dweeb. never read the comics
That guy doesn't look like Spider-Man. He looks like the pencilneck geek who jerks off to the chicks that Spider-Man boffs. Tobey Maguire wasn't making anyone forget Bruce Willis either, but he is a superlative actor who brought a depth to the part to rival that of the original Peter Parker. What PP is, is a dyed-in-the-wool New Yorker; a guy who is as comfortable in the city of cities as anyone. What PP doesn't do is wear hipster doofus flannel shirts and highlight his hair.
I was never a fan of Spiderman as a kid, I grew up mostly a Batman fanatic in the world of superhero comics. I will say though I found the first two movies good enough to be entertaining, but not "great". The third movie however, was just so damn god awful. The emo Peter Parker scene made me walk out of the theater the first time I saw it. I didn't even care how it ended, even knowing it was probably the last Spiderman installment of that series. That said, is a reboot necessary? I really dont think so.
I guess we're going to have to agree to disagree because myself and a lot of people loved the second one.
I don't know what more anyone would want in a Hulk movie. They incorporated alot of things that fans wanted to see in that movie. How anyone could complain about it is beyond me.
arent they rebooting cause Toby doesnt want to play Spidey anymore? Plus Dunst was HORRIBLE as MJ. Plus Sony owns the rights not Marvel. Hopefully they dont bring back the Goblin just to milk the cow for cash. And i can see this actor as Spidey in his HS days.
I know I loved it. I dont know what more you can ask for in a HULK movie. I guess naybe some more screen time for Hulk. I praythey end up putting him the avengers. I know Norton wants to reprise the role in them movie. On topic, I think the kid might be able to pull it off. I really liked Toby though and was sad he decided not to do a 4th.
At least Lou was in it? We can never have our childhood of B.B. and Lou back, but I thought they did as good as they could given circumstances.
If you look back and actually watch that Hulk tv series, its cheesy beyond belief, i mean they did it about as well as they could for the special effects they had back then, but it hasnt really held up, to say the least.
I like Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker. I know nothing about this new guy so it'll depend not just on him but who else they cast in the movie as far as how much or little the movie will eat ***. So they're recasting everyone in the movie too?
Pic of him in the suit. Let's hope they use some CGI cause um....Spidey has at least SOME muscle on him.
It was either that line or your line of "DON'T TALK TO ME THAT WAY BECAUSE I'M A STRONG, BLACK WOMAN!"
Well, it's good to see you two finally decided to scissor out all your problems and become allies. Good for you.
I know that I'm really late to this thread, but I was reading some stuff about the reboot and thought I'd chime in. As for why they are rebooting it, it seems that as had been mentioned they were planning a Spiderman 4. However there were problems between Sam Rami and Sony. If you recall that Sony essentially forced Venom on him for the third movie. It also seems that: As for the actor himself, I'm cautiously optimistic. Like Sick said he was pretty good in the Social Network, and he may be able to do something with the role. There two things that make me happy about the reboot. One is trivial, but it is artificial webshooters. I still can't understand why they made his webbing a part of his body, because the webshooters were part of the Peter Parker characterization. The second is that this looks like a true reboot that will be more faithful to the comics, as Gwen Stacey and her father will have a more prominent role. Here are some other pictures: Emma Stone as Gwen Stacey Dr. Connors They have also cast a man as Nelson Van Adder who comic book readers know is the Proto-Goblin. It appears that the main villian will be Dr. Connors/Lizard. However the Proto-Goblin and the screen shots that are floating around showing Oscorp signage hint that the Goblin will be featured eventually.
