Just heard on ESPN first take that Lebron will probably make his announcement in a neutral ground.

Wow, if you think about it.... Chicago gave up Ben Gordon, John Salmons, Kirk Hinrich, Tyrus Thomas, and Andres Nocioni for this summer.... it's possible that they're going to end up with David Lee or Carlos Boozer if anything at all. That is crazy. What a gamble indeed. At least they still have a Rose/Noah/Deng foundation to boot, but DAMN.

It would have been even uglier for us if we failed though.

He should, Cleveland has done nothing to win, and for all the King this and that, the kid needs to win a championship to set his legacy...IMO he stays in Cleveland cuz his heart is in Cleveland (although betting with your heart over your brain never wins)....or he goes to NY, Amare is there, but isnt as big as Wade, and Amare would know his role as compared if you guys had all 3, there would be too many egos....as well he knows if he wins in New York or even multiple titles, it superseeds over everything else, LA included......

That bandwagon is awfully small, my man. The city is unappealing for players of any sport. Just the reality of the situation. It doesn't help that the teams themselves are generally incompetently run.

ESPN anchorgeek trying to claim that the Heat would have chemistry problems because Wade/Bron/Bosh would be making millions while everyone else would be making a relative pittance, plus they'd all be scrubs asked to hold leads. Now trying to say LeBron would tarnish his legacy by winning in Miami.

Media bias exists in sports, too.

By the way - Sec confirmed the Cavs had a deal in place for Bosh - so obviously the Cavs have some assets they can move to make deals.

The Cavs STILL won 127 games the last two years - so hating on their roster in favor of NY and a few others seems a bit overboard.

And this team is constructed the way LeBron wants. He made every move. He wanted Shaq. He wanted Jamison. This isn't some horrible roster he had no control over - this is what he wanted. He made these decisions.

So while the media loves to say the Cavs never put any talent around LeBron - it is more like LeBron never put talent around LeBron. He signed short deals and wouldn't give FAs assurances. He forced trades that our FO wasn't happy about (and nixed trades they were).

And the simple fact he is having a 1-hour FA special to say where he goes shows his ego. Do you think he is going to swallow it and play on Wade's team? Because Miami will forever be Wade's team - no matter what LeBron does.

Trying to say the media is biased for Cleveland, especially about LeBron, is completely unfair. Cleveland has gotten SMEARED for 2 years by ESPN and the major media. Now we are their darlings?

If he wants to win he goes to Miami. If he wants a legacy he stays in Cleveland. Kids in China don't care if he won in Cleveland or New York.

You've completely and utterly misread my post.

The point is that the ESPN anchorgeek was not really asking questions but more offering his opinion in the form of thinly-veiled questions, and that opinion was against a Dream Team Heat, and quite possibly pro-Knicks given ESPN's geographic location.

Nowhere did I say, imply, or infer that the guy was trying to promote Cleveland.

That sounds like more incentive for LeBron to stop trusting his own "GM skills" and "championship-building savvy" and start trusting Riley who has... um... 6 rings. He has no idea how to build/run a championship team and it's time to put his ego aside and finally admit it. And clearly the Cavs brass have no idea what they're doing if they'd hand the keys to an 18 year old kid to run their franchise and tell them what's good. That's what this tells me anyway.

My bad. Little touchy right now.

As a Phins fan, I realize the bias against MIA; Cleveland almost has it worse in that we are completely glossed over like a little kid at the dinner table.

Don't disagree at all. But what were the Cavs supposed to do? And in Bron's mind I am sure he still thinks he was right the entire time.

Thats ridiculous to suggest LeBron has been the GM. Danny Ferry would have resigned years ago if that were the case.

Has LeBron had input? Of course, every superstar does. But that doesn't mean he's acting GM.

Really? Everything Sec and other insiders have said is that Cleveland has the edge on Bron - yet ESPN guys NEVER say that. Did you watch the "summit" with the PTI guys, LeBatard and Simmons? They almost didn't even talk about Cleveland as an option.

This is right. My source has been pretty spot on so far. he told me there was a tense moment and that Bosh killed the Toronto/Cleveland S&T in the womb. if he says there was a tense moment...then there was a tense moment.

Heat fans..thank Dwyane Wade...and the City of Miami...we won the Bosh sweepstakes because of it.

If Dwyane Wade is a CO-GM with PAT RILEY...

why can't Lebron James be a CO-GM with Danny Ferry?

A LOT of input. As was mentioned, the Cavs rosters for the past two years have been exactly what LeBron has requested of his FO. That's a lot of input. To say he doesn't monopolize control of player/personnel decisions in Cleveland would be ridiculous. Their FO was/is(?) willing to do anything to keep LBJ happy so long as he'd stay and help them sell tickets/win a title(?) in his hometown. You really think they'd sign anyone without the OK from LBJ?

Wade isn't Co-GM. He's just a superstar. He tells Riley what he thinks the team needs. He recruits guys like Bosh. But I doubt Wade is on the phone with the Trailblazers trying to acquire Rudy or Andre. I doubt Wade is the one who scouted Beas and chose to draft him. Riley makes the decisions, with Wade's input, but ultimately Riley is the decision maker, and Wade is the face of the franchise.

Superstars will always have a level of input in the NBA. Kobe, LeBron, Wade, etc. All of them give their input and opinions. But I highly doubt LeBron chose Mo Williams, he just said the team needed a PG. I doubt Kobe Bryant said he wanted Blake, he probably just said they needed a PG that can shoot.

People need to stop acting like LeBron is the one that built that team. He gave input. He wanted Michael Redd, and he wanted a center a full year before they got Shaq. Look no further than the Byron Scott hiring. LeBron told Cleveland he wanted a coach with more discipline, a former player, and championship experience. He gave his input, but Cleveland was the one who that chose the actual guy.

The ESPN anchorgeek up in arms over the possibility of a Dream Team Heat is Josh Elliott, who contributes to MSG, which produces Knicks games.

    It figures.

Now if only I could get the PoFo to understand how biased the media is in one direction as easily as people seem to believe the sports media is biased...
